Dr. Michelle M McLanahan, MD
DO NOT go here if you want to see your babies after your delivery. I had twins. I was supposed to have a routine C-Section. She butchered me! She cut my uterus in half and damaged my bladder which had to be repaired with mesh and was never told about it! I died on the operating table and had to have four blood transfusions. Thank God I have guardian angels looking after me otherwise I would've never seen my precious babies. If you value your life I highly recommend you don't go to this office. I should have sued her for malpractice while I had the chance!!!! If there was a 0 rating that is what I would give her!

Florida Woman Care Of Jacksonville
The doctors are very nice. But I will not be coming here my next pregnancies because the wait is absolutely ridiculous. Over a hour and a half one time and over an hour every other time. I tried being the 1st patient of the day I tried being the last one I tried going in the middle of the day but the wait just to see the doctor is over an hour!!!!! And no one comes in to check on you. So you just sit there with you back killing you waiting.

Florida Woman Care Of Jacksonville
The doctor is knowledgeable enough but beware of the office billing department. I have no copay but I had to pay before they even file with my insurance. I was asked months in advance to prepay for labor and delivery services but they will not file a claim with my insurance company until after the baby is born. It took me six months to get my refund from them because they had miscalculated my insurance coverage. It was not easy to get the money back into my HSA account without tax penalties.

FABEN Obstetrics & Gynecology
Don't go here. Go any where but here. The doctor was so distracted she didn't know from first visit to the next why I was there, the receptionist was rude and unfriendly at both visits. They made me pay upfront costs before reaching out to health insurance provider and it took the health insurance provider to request they return monies due to me via a three-way call (after calls to the billing dept myself). There are so many good options for good quality care, this is not one of them.

Beware!!!!!!! This place is the worst when it comes to customer service. The office staff is extremely unprofessional and rude. They lost my paperwork and never got back to me. After a week of trying to get a first appointment I decided to speak with the office coordinator (patty). Not two minutes pass and I get a call from Ashley telling me they won't take me as a patient and she is sorry. That's how the manager handled it. There was no concern or coaching or anything. I'm not sure how they keep the lights on. And if you want to reach someone hit option two for doctors and nurses because they don't answer the phone for patients.

Morons.. Gave us all clear, then had to chase us to the elevator to tell us some potentially major news. Every test result was never ready and had to be faxed over at the end of the appointment while we sat there for thirty minutes. I am the father and had to have a very important blood test, in which the results came back all clear, then 2 appointments later another doctor tells us that Quest DIagnostics on Roosevelt, did the wrong test. and a doctor at NFOBGYN signed off on the results from the wrong test.. Just not impressed with the visits.. This place sucks.

I met with Reagan Thomas ARNP today. I work in the medical field and she is by far thee sweetest person ive met. She is informative and exciting. She made my longer wait worth it. The front staff was very inviting and personable as well. The office was clean and cozy. I can't wait to go back. I will get to meet Dr. Boyd who Ive only heard good things about.
Tips & Advices
OB/GYNs learn to treat infertility as part of their standard education. OBGYNs who further their training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility are known as fertility specialists.
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a treatment where medication is used to replace hormones a woman's body does not create naturally. Women are prescribed either estrogen alone or a mix of estrogen and progesterone. The former is given to women who've had hysterectomies, while the latter is for postmenopausal women. HRT used to be a common treatment, but doctors have prescribed it less often in recent years, as concerns of negative side effects increased.
Endometriosis is a chronic condition where uterine tissue (endometrium) grows in areas outside the uterus. This can cause extreme pain, especially around menstruation and during sex. Other symptoms include infertility, chronic fatigue, and painful urination or bowel movements during menstruation. In addition, many women with endometriosis also have allergies, frequent yeast infections, or sensitivity to certain chemicals.
Morning sickness is a common pregnancy symptom that includes nausea and occasional vomiting. Despite its name, morning sickness can occur at any time of day. The exact reason for this condition isn't clear, although most believe it results from hormone changes affecting muscle contraction and relaxation in the stomach and intestines. Another theory suggests morning sickness is caused by an abundance of intestinal bacteria in pregnant woman.
OBGYNs can prescribe or perform the following types of birth control:
  • Contraceptive pills
  • Birth control shots
  • Implants
  • Diaphragms
  • Vaginal rings
  • Cervical caps
  • Intrauterine devices
  • Tubal ligation
  • Hysterectomies
Women do not need to see an OBGYN to obtain over-the-counter forms of birth control such as male condoms, female condoms, or sponges.
