The Pig
I've had their BBQ two years ago and it was good. Recently took my husband there and we were both disappointed. The beef had no flavor, as if it had been steamed with no spices. The pork was mildly smoky, but again not much distinct flavor that one expects from good BBQ. My silverware was grossly dirty with what looked like gravy, and the tea was just like sugar water. The baked beans taste like they're from a can with vinegar added. I'm sorry to say that we'd rather stick with places like Mojo, 4Rivers, or even Monroe's. THOSE places at least have more flavor than just the sauce. Their mac&cheese and coleslaw was good, which is why they got a second star.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit
Went and picked up catering for 12 people. Everything was ready on time and accurate. They do a great job including all serving utensils, aluminum pans for the food and bagged neatly. Very pleased with service and food (especially the pulled pork and rolls) and it was still warm by the time I got back to the office to set everything up for the team. I even received a follow up call the day after to make sure everything was good. Nice to see the new management staff is on top of it!

Dickey's Barbecue Pit
Went on a Sunday since kids eat free. We were greeted with a nice smokey smell as we entered in. Our meals were very good and loved the cheddar sausage in my 2 meat plate. Sides were good and the roll with meal is great touch. Staff was very friendly and had 3 TVs so I could watch NCAA March Madness games. The mgr seemed very nice as I overheard him working with a lady who wanted catering for 20 people over Easter weekend. Glad Texas has arrived in Jacksonville with Dickeys

The Pig Bar-B-Q
I've been meeting with my friends pretty much every Sunday for breakfast at The Pig for the past 2 plus years. There are many restaurants we COULD meet at that are closer but we choose to go there because of the staff. The food, of course, is very good, but the waitstaff is what makes this place head and shoulders above other places. They truly know their customers and take great care of them! I've tried numerous other places, but they all pale in comparison to The Pig!!!

I love my wings and if they weren't so expensive I'd have them more often from here. I am hooked on them even though most of the people ( wait staff ) are a bit rude at times, I'm sure some of them might have a problem or two like us all. If you want the best wings in town they're at this place. Just take em home and eat em with a messy smile. Oh have a few dollars in your pocket to but oh so worth it.

Wing Palace
This restaurant has a great environment and mood its big screen plasmas is a place to watch the game which is a plus for a wing spot the wings are flavorful though id ask them to cook a little. Harder there sauce are A1 my only complaint is they need a menu or more variety this restaurant literally. Only serves wings tenders gizzards and fries and that makes it a basic kitchen.

Bono's Pit Bar-B-Q
This sounds like a wonderful place to dine, but unfortunately I live in Virginia. Iam very curious to know if this was once Peg Leg's Oyster Bar in the 70s. I found one of my old check stubs to be only $2.15 for 4 hours. Does anyone remember Peg Legs ???? If I ever get to Jville, I will surely have "Bonos" at the top of my list to dine....

Crim's Bar-B-Q
FloridaJPR your problem is you go by when he is closed. You want to give the man 2 stars just cause you cant get your way. We get his BBQ all the time. The man had surgery a while back so I think he earned a lil time off. Until you taste his BBQ, you really should keep your comments off of here. Crim's will always be a 5 star place.

Fat Jacks Smokestack BBQ
This is a little hole in the wall that we took a chance on and were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent. The prices were reasonable. The bathrooms were clean. Most important the food was some of the best smoked meats we ever had. It was worth the stop. We left very full.

Just a moment...
