Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
very disappointed at the unprofessionalism, i got a plumer of the name of romeo who showed up late estimated me 325 which i though was steep to snake a kitchen drain but i agreed b/c i was tired of messing with it and we really needed our sink back and functional , so he did a good job at uncloging the sink but that was it, he made a mess and made a very poor attempt to clean up while helping himself to my cleaning supplies to do it with, left pipe fittings loose, finger tight if that. I guess i just would have liked a more prompt and profesional job for 325 (over the average for the jacksonville area for this job)

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
So yesterday morning I called Roto Rooter to have them snake my sink drain. They told me they would be there between 12-4pm. At 3:30 they called me and said I would be the next service call but that it wouldn't be before 4pm. I cancelled my plans for that evening and waited for them. At 7:30pm they called me and said they would have to reschedule for the next day. I was again disappointed but rescheduled for between 2-6 the next afternoon. They were at my house from around 4:25-5:15 to snake my drain the next day, however for that 50 minute window they charged us $325 which I thought was a little expensive/excessive for 50 minutes of time. I spoke to a plumbing friend of mine who said normally 2 guys for an hour and a half is $325, and this was 2 guys for under an hour, so I believe they did a good job snaking the drain, but not sure the pay was worth it for the short time there.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
After running into problems with a couple of local plumbers, we decided to call Roto-Rooter. So glad we did, our Tech, Jerry had our issues fixed in no time at all! We are so happy and will be using them for all our plumbing going forward.

Tropic Aire Of N Florida
I called Tropicaire looking for a remote for a mini-split AC/Heat unit, and although they didn't carry the model I was looking for the agent I spoke to was willing to help me find my part, whereas other dealers weren't helpful at all. I appreciate their willingness to help.

North Florida Granite
STEER CLEAR! Something not right with this company. Husband and wife duo. He seems very knowledgable and easy to deal with. SHE is another story. Her lack of professionalism and inability to communicate in a timely manner is beyond comprehension. Having to inundate someone with text messages, emails and phone calls just to get a reply is absurd. She truly came up with every excuse in the book. My phone died, I was in the hospital, we were busy with family stuff, blah blah blah. In addition to that, I caught her in multiple lies, she made unathorized charges to my card, she repeatedly put my job off for one reason or another, she charged me for material and then wouldn't allow me to view it in person, she cancelled appointments, etc. etc. etc. I finally had enough and cancelled the entire job. Overall they seem very fly by night. They even have two different names listed for their company. They also go by North Florida Granite. Very shady in general. Just find a more established, professional and credible source for your marble and granite needs and don't get sucked in by their lower fabricaton price of $30psf. Just remember what your mom always told you, "you get what you pay for" and in this case, these folks are the epitome of that!

Cohen Construction Inc
The apartment complex we live in hired this company to replace the stairs outside. In the process they cut our cable wire. When my husband confronted them on this, the guy was rude and immediately stated he will not pay to fix it but will have one of his guys come by and fix the cable. They never did. A week later while still replacing the stairs, they messed it up again. Yet again my husband talked to them and they said they would fix it and low and behold, did not fix it. They packed up and left. This company is unprofessional, rude and they do not take responsibility for their actions. I would NOT recommend this company to any one.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
I had a unique plumbing issue in a house I recently purchased. None of the problems were disclosed and the inspector did not catch them. One call to Roto-Rooter and techs were sent right out. The problem required more and Roto-Rooter sent more. Randy, tech #1542 went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of including some minor issues that were noticed during the repair. Josh Whitow, tech #1987 was also a big help with making sure the issue was taken care of. I would recommend them to everybody.

Er Rooter Plumbing Repairs & Drain Cleaning
Super quick to slap a lien on your home, before the work is even started.I asked him for a notorized release of lien at time of full payment, HE REFUSED and tried to give it to me on a piece of scrath paper.I threathen to inform the city of Jacksonville on his practice, and also said my attorney would be contacting him.My notorized release of lien was in my hand shortly afterwards. He knows his work, but terrible in communication and practices underhanded tactics.HE MUST'VE THOUGHT I WAS GULLIBLE,  BUT DISCOVERED HE WAS WAY WRONG!Stay away from him, and NEVER sign his "Commencement Letter" which is a very hidden LIEN!
Tips & Advices
The following tools and common household objects can be used to clean drains at home:
  • A plunger
  • A drain snake
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Grease-fighting dish soap
Homeowners can mix boiling water with any of the last three products to break up grease and grime.
The main ingredients in clog removal liquid products are sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. According to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, both break down into relatively harmless components when it comes into contact with water or soil. However, both substances cause mild irritation to skin and internal tissues.
Also known as a drain auger, a drain snake is a coiled device around ┬╝-inch thick. To use a drain snake, put the end into the entrance of the drain. Turn the handle to force the snake deeper, using extra pressure to force it through the bend in the pipe. Keep turning until the snake hits the clog, then either pull the snake and remove the obstruction or force it through. Once the snake is out of the drain, run the water on full blast for a few minutes to ensure the obstruction is completely removed.
Plungers don't damage residential pipes, but the force created by the act of plunging weakens the seal between the toilet and the floor.
Many plumbers, both local businesses and nationwide chains, offer emergency or same-day services.
