Dr. Brandi Long & Associates
Very disappointed! Dr. Long is great and does a thorough exam. However, I had a bad experience with how the office manages their claims. I had about 3 visits earlier this year and had not met my deductible. The receptionist asked me to pay the full cost for my exam and told me that it would be filed towards my deductible. After two months, I noticed the claim had not been filed, and I called the receptionist and she told me their system was down and that it would be filed soon. My insurance company has also made several attempts to get info on the claim and each time they were told different stories and excuses. This has been a long 6-month process. As of today, Sept 3, 2017, this office has yet to file my insurance claim. My insurance company is now escalating this claims issue to the proper authorities for resolution. I am very disappointed in how this office handles claims and the overall appointment process. Very unprofessional. I will not be returning.

Receptionist is the most disrespectful and rude person I have had to ever interact with. She got attitude with me and I guess she thought I wouldn't get one back and I did just for the reason we had to deal with her from last year and she was the same then and I let it go. We will definitely not be back here again.

Dr. Long is a very professional and caring doctor. She takes the time to explain every aspect of the exam. She makes sure that you know exactly what is going on with your eye health. I recommend her 110%.

Have used Dr. Brandi Long for many years for vision exams. Tried calling several times to set up appointment and cannot reach her and attendants in vision center seem unwilling to help aquire said appointment. Very disappointed.
Tips & Advices
To find a professional that fits your needs and wants, look for an optometrist with the proper licensing and compliance with state-specific legalities as well as these qualities: attentiveness, ability to listen, ethics, compassion, ability to communicate effectively and willingness to spend time with patients.
Vision, like dental, is often an additional voluntary cost for employers who provide health care coverage. As a result, it may not be included in basic company-sponsored insurance. Those who do have access to this type of coverage - or Medicare - often only pay for a portion of their eye exam services.
The cost of an appointment with an optometrist varies based on the services required. While a typical eye exam can range from $50 to $250, depending on location. If if glasses or contact lenses are prescribed, or tests are needed, the overall expense of an optometrist visit can increase.
The American Optometric Association recommended that patients have their first eye exam at six months of age, followed by another at 3 years old, and again at school age. At that point, Regular annual exams are recommended.
Ophthalmologists are eye doctors that have received higher levels of training than both opticians and optometrists, and can also perform eye surgery when necessary. Opticians design and fit eyeglasses, frames, and lenses that are prescribed by optometrists and ophthalmologists. They do not perform vision tests or write prescriptions for visual aids. Optometrists fall between ophthalmologists and opticians. Optometrists can detect and treat eye abnormalities, prescribe lenses, and complete eye exams, but cannot perform eye surgery.
