Tri-County Family Medicine & Urgent Care
I have been a patient of Tri county Family Medicine for a number of years now. I have recently started going to their new clinic here in Jackson. I have always been very satisfied with their care. Recently I was in an accident at home, I had fallen and hurt my back. I would like to thank Ms Holly Marlar for the excellent care she gave me. She did a thorough exam and during the exam she asked if I was hurting anywhere else. As an after thought I mentioned my wrist was bothering me a little bit. She recommended that I go ahead and get a x-ray of my wrist as well as my back. Thanks to her concern she discovered that I had a broken wrist. She immediately had the nurse call me with my x-ray results and had the office manager set me up to see an orthopedic doctor for further treatment the following day. I feel like if I had gone to the ER or a different clinic my complains would have gone unnoticed or ignored. I would like to say a huge thank you to Ms Holly Marlar for taking time out of her busy work day to see me and spend enough time examining me to find an injury that at the time I wasn't even aware of. I'm a very satisfied patient.

Tri-County Family Medicine & Urgent Care
Wow!!!! My daughter was really sick and vomiting so I had heard about the Tri county clinic in Jackson. I didn't want to take her to the ER because the wait is always way too long so I listened to a friend and checked in to the clinic. By the time I had finished my paper work I was called back and eager nurses entertained my child and got her vitals. I was really impressed on how they took care of my little girl and made her laugh even though she was feeling so bad. When we got to her room it wasn't too long before the physicians assistant, Holly came in. She was wonderful!!!, she entertained my daughter and got her checked out and made sure that the medicines my daughter needed were at the closest pharmacy to me. She and her staff went the extra mile to make sure my daughter was taken care in an efficient and timely manner. I will come back. Holly's pleasing nature makes her a real comfort and her source of knowledge in medicine is uncanny. You have to come to this clinic!!!! Oh and my daughter got a toy for being a good patent. Now she's not afraid of the doctor and is eager for her check ups!!! Thanks Holly!!!

Boxell Sandra J MD FACOG
I really like this clinic! Dr Boxell is wonderful! I had a great team of doctors where I used to live, and came to Dr Boxell hoping I would get the same level of care, and I was very surprised to get even better care from her. Although wait times can at times be lengthy, I know that she will spend as much time with me as I need/want/require. My only complaint is issues with phone calls. I left a message for her nurse and it took three days to get a return call! I would also like to see more timely submission of my bills to my insurance carrier, but those are things the doctor doesn't control. Dr Boxell gets high points from me!

Mulligan's
Charged $14 for 2 as a cover charge for a band that never arrived. Service was terrible and the martini my wife ordered was even worse. Obviously, even though there is a cocktail menu, the bartender only knows how to pour beer. We went to this establishment specifically for corned beef and cabbage as it was st. Patrick's day. The corned beef was deli meat and not corned beef. As we left, we asked for the cover charge back since there was no band and were told tge cover was for st. Patrick's day. For what I have no idea. Terrible experience and will not be going back.asked for money back they said

Tri-County Family Medicine & Urgent Care
I am from Jackson and going to college in Clarksville in August. I went to Tri-county in Jackson for my college physical and vaccines. Not only did they get me in and out faster than any other dr office I had been to, they were very thorough. They knew exactly what vaccines I would need and told me I could go to their Dover clinic to get my next series of vaccines while I'm away at college. This place is so convenient and they have the friendliest staff. I recommend tri-county to all my friends!!!

Tri-County Family Medicine & Urgent Care
I went to Tri County Family Medicine because the wait was too long at my other physicians office. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was amazing and I was treated like I was a person, not just a chart number. The nurses were amazing but the female Physican's Assistant and the Male Nurse Practitioner were the best I have ever experienced. They were very knowledgeable and friendly and made my visit very comforting. I would HIGHLY recommend this facility.

Tri-County Family Medicine & Urgent Care
This is THE place to go for a sports physical. I walked in with my kid without an appointment and got his sport physical, seventh grade shots, and they treated his acne while we were there. I mentioned to the nurse practitioner that I was having allergy problems, and he saw me too and allergy tested me. The staff was very friendly, and we will definitely be back!
Tips & Advices
An osteopathic physician practices a comprehensive form of medicine that takes a holistic approach to a person's health. Instead of specializing in one system or set of organs, an osteopathic specialist focuses on the health of the total body. This includes evaluating environmental factors that affect a person's well-being.
Many family doctors deliver babies, especially in rural areas without a nearby OB/GYN. However, most family doctors only deliver for low-risk pregnancies and do not perform cesarean sections.
Family nurse practitioners are highly educated nurses able to provide medical care individually or with the assistance of another professional. Family nurse practitioners obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then take the National Council Licensure Examination to begin working as a registered nurse. Then, they continue their education and obtain a Master of Science in Nursing. Following that, they become certified in family practice via the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, allowing them to become certified family nurse practitioners.
Some family doctors provide immunizations while others do not. Typically, doctors who work as part of a large practice are more likely to offer vaccines in-house. Doctors in offices of one to two physicians are more likely to refer patients to a public health department or other immunization provider.
A physician's assistant is a person qualified to perform routine medical services. This individual is professionally licensed and certified, but they may not have the extensive med school education of a doctor. That said, PAs do complete almost three years of postgraduate study and more than 2,000 hours of rotations.
