Kool Smiles of Jackson
We arrived 15 minutes early for our 9:30am appointment. The receptionist was calling names sending people to the back who had gotten there after us. At 10:15am I asked her if she called my son's name because 45 minutes had went by and no one even asked me for his insurance info or to even fill out necessary paperwork. The receptionist said she was about to call him but I saw on her clipboard that she had highlighted his name as if she had already called him. I sat down and waited another 15 minutes and went back to ask why he hadn't been called and she gave me this generic piss poor excuse about most kids were having dental work done but dental work and cleaning are on two totally different sides. I finally asked for the paperwork and she said "I can go ahead and give it to you." as if she was doing me a favor. I completed his paperwork and sat down to wait some more and my son didn't get called back until 11:15am and was done at 11:48. That's over 2 hours for a cleaning! I've never waited that long and I truly believe the receptionist skipped him and didn't want to own up to it and then when confronted she tried to make it seem like it was normal to wait that long. The entire time I was there there was 2 big wads of brown paper towels and something white on the floor where kids were coming from "dental work" and no one bothered to pick it up. Staff only there to collect check and not to service people. The receptionist was a dark skinned black lady with long black hair sewn in and had on orange scrubs on 11-22-16.

Imagine coming onto a full dentist office with the left side of your face pounding in pain. I had a toothache on the top and bottom of my mouth. I was dreading being at the dentist all together. With tear in my eyes I approached the receptionist desk and met Angie. She seem to sense my pain. She politely asked me to fill out my paper work and gave me a cup of water and medicine to help me deal with the pain. For a walk in patient I did not have to wait long. I was whisked away to take ex rays of my teeth by a young lady named charisma who was very gentle in the way she handled my soar mouth. Two other nurses (Precious and Shounda)came to the room where I was awaiting on the dentist, just to check on me.They made me feel welcome and assured me I would be okay. I felt right at home. My dentist was very honest, polite and made me excited about getting my smile back on the right track. I can say I did not want to leave the office. I had the greatest dental visit ever and I really admired the way the didn't make me feel bad about my teeth. Cool smiles truly turned my smile upside down. I recommend them to the world!!!!!! I can't wait to go back

Belhaven Residential
We moved in Belhaven Springs a month ago. Since that time I never had any problem with management and maintenance staff. Leasing manager gave me a check list, which I filled in and everything I was concerning about was fixed! And it was no major problems, just small things, like to put some caulk, to fix a sink sewer. Today (Friday!) after 2 pm I called and said that I have a kind of problem with my toilet, which is probably running and makes that filling in noise every hour. It was no expectation that someone will come today, I turned off the water and decided to use only the other toilet this weekend, but at 4.30 plumber came! And bingo! He was nice, helpful and fixed the problem in 10 min, asked me to call to the office on Monday morning if I will have the problem again. I'm happy. What else I can say? By the way, property is absolutely clean, no noise anytime, gates work perfectly, tenants are polite and friendly! I absolutely love this place, which is minutes from UMC, nice food store and walking distance to downtown!

Kool Smiles of Jackson
I really appreciated the professionalism and friendliness of the staff at Kool Smiles (Ellis Ave. location). The wait time was short the staff is always so nice and friendly. I use to go to a private dentist who was very costly and not nearly as good as the staff at Kool Smiles. The dental hygienist that cleaned my teeth was the best hygienist I had ever had. His name is Grady. Grady, I just want to say thank you so much for the time and patience you took in caring for my teeth. You are truly a blessing. My teeth had never looked and felt so clean. I pray that you will continue offering your patients that quality and caring service. Kool Smiles, I was really impressed! I have already told my family where to go for their dental needs. KUDOS to Grady and Kool Smiles

Belhaven Residential
My name is Maurcus A. and I've been living in the Belhaven residential area for 3 years now and I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed the quietness of this community. It is an affordable place in the metro Jackson area if you are looking for something reasonable but worth it! Being that I have a small child, I can say that it is safe for having a family. The historic homes are a sight to see and it's very close to the downtown area and the interstate which is great as well. As a student it is also fortunate that it is in close distance to Belhaven University and Milsaps. And only a few miles from Jackson State as well. The management has improved tremendously and I look forward to continuing my stay here.

Grubbs, M Lewis DMD
Dr. Grubbs was amazing. I called to get a new patient appointment for a tooth that was hurting. Dr. Grubbs' receptionist was super friendly and helpful. I called at 8:10 and was seen at 9:30. Dr. Grubbs and his assistant did x-rays, explained the situation and because this upcoming weekend is a holiday weekend, he even gave me instructions on how to get in touch with him if I had anymore problems over the extended weekend! Dr. Grubbs even had his assistant call me this afternoon to see how I was feeling and if I was having any relief with the medications he prescribed. The entire staff is amazing!! I am so glad that I found this particular dentist. I will not go anywhere else!!!

Belhaven Residential
Ive been staying at Belhaven Garden for over five years and over the years I've considered moving, but the close proximity to work, downtown, and the interstate makes me stay. I love the Belhaven community feel and wish the Belhaven community would do more with the historic homes that are in dire need of repairs (near the leasing office). The previous management was questionable. However, the new management is definitely taking an proactive approach to making the stay at Belhaven Residential more enjoyable. They are very attentive to the needs of the tenants and easily accessible!

Belhaven Residential
I love living in the Belhaven area, specifically with Belhaven Residential because they have many different houses, complexes, etc to choose from at very good prices! Also, there are various amenities that are a plus like door-side trash pickup, laundry rooms onsite and CLOSE to all apartments (at least in the complex I stay in!) and security gates to make you feel secure. I've been with Belhaven Residential for a little over 4 years and I have to say you won't find better quality apartments for a cheaper price in the Jackson area!

Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future

Just a moment...
