Ralph's Muffler & Brake Shops
Website said "Call for free quote". I work on cars some and know exactly what's wrong. Just a flex pipe replacement. All he would say is "I need to look at it". I even told him I know exactly what's wrong. "I need to look at it".Forget this place.

Steve's Towing Service
I was stuck with a vehicle in an Indy impound lot after an accident. Needed it retrieved and towed to a Bloomington Body Shop, I did not want to drive up there. All taken care of in one phone call. They did everything I asked them to do, called me en-route. Charged me exactly what they quoted me. Nice and polite on the phone, and in person. Would use again with no question.

Treadz Automotive
I wouldn't take a lawn mower there. I took a 13 mustang gt there for an alignment OR to correct this issue w my driver side front wheel and steering wheel crooked; the greasy dirty tech who worked on my beautiful car corrected nothing, lied to my face that it was fixed, test drove my car without putting paper or plastic in the interior so he left grease smudges all over everything(Recarro Racing Seats), it was closing time, I called first thing the next morning and they were less than willing to correct the issue. I think I smelled alcohol on the person who worked on my car's breath. I just wanted my money back so I could get a quality and accurate repair; what they did corrected nothing. It's too late now because of their lack of professionalism and incompetence to take it back and have them correct it and give me a credit for the alignment after the repair is made. I don't trust them, I'm posting my story everywhere and If i save just 1 person from this place I'll feel great! OSHA needs to inspect their lifts too. I'm gonna notify them too before any of this places employees get squished under a car. I wouldn't go there for ANYTHING, probably not even a plug in a tire, they'd mess it up and blame the customer.

Goodyear Auto Service Center
Went to this GoodYear on Highschool Road for 12 yrs. NOT ANYMORE. After the last manager left, they bought in a new manager (Chris) and an all new crew. I took my car in to have an oil change and have them check over the AC (floor in rear of car was getting wet) and the rear brakes, which had a bad squeal in the morning when backing out. They broke my glove box checking the AC coil. Then Chris told me that they did not see the wetness on the floorboard and they never checked the AC. LIE #1 . Even though it was on my receipt, that no issue found with AC or rear brakes. They said they checked the brakes and cleaned and adjusted them, it was normal for them to squeal first thing in the morning. I took the car back again, to have the rear brakes checked out 1 week later, and now they tell me the drums and the shoes are shot and need to be replaced and they cant turn the drums. I just had them replaced brand new 24000 mi ago. So now they not only told me they did not check out the AC, but now within 1 week, I went from its normal on my rear brakes squealing, to I need a complete overhaul on the rear brakes in just 7 days. THEY LIE. Also I had a fuel line leak (which I confirmed with another place, because I didn't trust them already) and they quoted me $853 to replace both lines. I ended up taking it to Goodyear in Greenwood, where the other manager transferred too and they charged $510. Who is ripping you off!! That is 40% cheaper going to another location and the same company. Also I wanted to have Chris call me to talk with him about this issue. I told Nathan to have Chris call me, because of the AC and brake issues and them not doing this right. HE NEVER CALLED BACK. Sorry about your luck, you just lost a great customer of 12 yrs and I know I have spent $13K plus over the years. New tires, replaced parts on 3 vehicles.

Car-X Tire & Auto
We drove an hour to get my boyfriends car that was supposed to be fixed after a $1300 job. The staff was very conceited about their skills and abilities for fixing brakes. When we get there to pick up the vehicle... it didn't work! The brake line was still leaking- death trap waiting to happen. They even told us they "drove it around" after fixing it to make sure. Clearly they didn't since the brakes were still broken and hitting the floor.

Roadmaster Automotive Inc
I have been going to Chuck's Roadmaster for many years. Only place I trust in town. Very knowledgable and always a professional experience. If you want your car/truck fixed in a reasonable amount of time and done right or just an oil change, this is the place to go.

Sharps Automotive
I was recommended to bring my car to Sharps by a friend of mine. I ran into several mechanical issues with my car that needed immediate attention. Dustin, shop tech assisted In everyway possible, both over the phone as well as inside the shop. I was a bit unfamiliar with the area ( being as that i just recently moved to Indy area) but Dustin guided me to their shop no problem. He even recommended some alternatives for me In which helped save me money. After getting to the shop, Dustin and his Manager assessed the damages and quoted me a price that was more than comparable but truly unbelievable. They have a great business, business professionalism and are GREAT people. I have been to quite a few shops in my life but never one that made things more possible and accommodating than Sharps. Things they've done, will never go unnoticed. They have my business and is within no doubt, they would earn yours!! I'm not a paid script actor, i didn't receive money for putting up this review, i gain noting but respect for good business from guys like this!!

Mr Automotive
Mr. R.M. Barfield1854 W. Wyoming StreetIndianapolis Dave, his wife, and all of the mechanics in his shop have provided superior service when ever I required repairs to be done on my 2002 Cadillac - which by the way, has over 187000 miles to date. Being a skilled mechanic myself for over twenty-six years on jet engine applications, I know what it means to provide to the customer good service and workmanship at a fair price. Dave and his team over the last two years have earned my trust by keeping my Cadillac in excellent operating condition. I truly recommend Mr. Radiator as the go to place for your next automotive repair.

plus locksmith Indianapolis
When I called this company they sent down a very nice gentleman to get my work keys done. Once he was done I had him go to my home and change some lock that was messed up. He was really smart and had extensive knowledge in the field.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
