A-1 Discount Floor Coverings Inc
If you are looking for "Discount Service" this would be the place...They left holes and dents with hammers around the woodwork along my walls. The supervisor of the crew kept leaving for hours at a time and sometimes didn't even show up! When I spoke to the owner today, he made a comment about how all the under flooring had to be replaced! Hey, I paid for that under flooring plus labor. The man has some problems! We're now remodeling the bathroom and they did not run flooring under the bathroom vanity. There is a gap that I can stick my finger in all the way around the vanity. I have gaps in all the rooms that should have been flush to walls and the kitchen cabinets, had it not been for me insisting on having woodwork installed to try and cover the gaps left, those gaps would be really noticeable. By the time they were done, I was so sick to my stomach I didn't even want to complain, I just wanted them out of my house. I am so disgusted with this job, I could have done a far better job and wish now I had done the job! I spent weeks sweeping up the little bits of black under-layment paper. Their clean-up job was deplorable. Oh, they didn't even have a Wet-Dry Vac, so they used mine. Along with other tools they didn't seem to have. I did clean up, while they worked, I wasn't paid a dime for that but didn't expect it. I thought they were supposed to clean up but they weren't cleaning a thing. I called today and was told they didn't put flooring under vanities because of plumbing, but yet they could lay the wood floor under the toilet...doesn't that involve plumbing? The owner could have told me about not putting wood flooring under the vanity, so that I could have had someone remove the vanity before they came and did their half-#*# job. Couldn't cut the woodwork in the corner of the Master Bedroom to a 45 degree corner angle. I learned to cut 45 degree angles in my 7th grade shop class and I'm a woman! Two younger boys did the work in the bedroom. The owner asked if my flooring could be put on hold to do another job. I should have stood my ground and said NO! Then, the trash, including the wood flooring remnants sat at my backdoor for at least a month because the owner said he didn't have a truck to come and get it. Terribly disappointed and will never use this company again. I will also be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. The help are scary looking people, people I don't allow in my house or even want to be near. BEWARE!!!!! Discount is their motto...or should I say Less than Discount? Service was awful, the crew was awful and the end job, well you read what type of job they did for me. The wood flooring I bought was not cheap and of very excellent quality. Never, Never, Never will I use them again or recommend this company to anyone! I imagine Discount Flooring in Avon or on Lafayette Road would have done a better job. The owner claimed his crew worked for him only and were not subcontractors, well, they actually are because they all said they worked for other people too. It's a shame I had to give them 1 star, the company doesn't deserve it.

Floors To Your Home
We went into Floors To Your Home looking for new flooring for our kitchen. We went to both the Noblesville and Lafayette Road locations and the staff at both locations were extremely knowledgeable of their products and provided recommendations without being pushy. After visiting other flooring stores to compare quotes and products, we couldn’t find a better product for the price. We were able to put in our flooring under budget! We will be coming back to check out backsplash options!

Best Price Flooring
Have never used this business, but today 2 of their younger employees trespassed on my property climbing over a stone wall so they could "get back to work". I don't appreciate trespassing.

Finishing Touch Floor Company
Very disappointing. Called for carpet installation which was never done. Was charged and getting a refund has proved impossible. Calls are now going unanswered and they refuse to get back with us. Save yourself the headache and deception and call a different company!
Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.
