Local Hands
My goal: Bathroom remodel, eventually kitchen remodelLocalHands did not answer my call immediately, but they did call back within the hour to schedule their free estimate.Communication: consistent throughout the entirety of the project. They provided me with daily updates, sometimes every other day, of their progress. They did provide a projected timeline of the remodel, although they did miss the completion date by 1.5 days. So, all in all...I appreciated the communication and professionalism despite missing their due date. Quality: Hover between above average to excellent. The backsplash and floor tile turned out to be straight with consistent grout lines. The vanity and mirror were level and stable. Ran into an electrical issue early on, but they used a licensed electrician to eliminate this hiccup quickly. Very happy with final product...no problems have resulted since it was completed.Price: Competitive...best price of 4 estimates. Would highly recommend and use again!

Affordable Kitchens & Bathrooms
From the first phone conversation to the last minute of completion, they have been a pleasure to work with. Our master bath is beyond our expectations. Their workmanship and attention to detail is second to none. Aside from the beautiful, timely work, they are extremely professional, friendly, and conscientious--all the traits you hope for but rarely delivered. I am still amazed at the quality of work/materials provided at such an affordable price. I encourage everyone to shop around then call Affordable Kitchens & Bath--you will be pleasantly surprised at what you'll get for the money. I'm already thinking of a second project with Affordable Kitchens & Bath!

White Oak Construction
My new Door was installed Friday morning. the guy that installed it was very professional and did a good job. I am very happy with his work. Also, this company did not string me along. I didn't have to wait months to get something accomplished. I appreciate that. It looks really nice. I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you so much.Sincerely,Peggy CrimminsKokomo, In. 46901

Our job was completed on time and on budget and the quality was about 8.5 out of 10. They started a couple of days late but finished on time. We had a drive repaved and was very happy with the result. Will definitely use them for future projects.

Hired them to help finish my basement. I am pleased with the results and their communication has been better than most contractors I've dealt with. They have professionalism. Thanks guys!
Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.
