Premier Family Eye Care
I just wanted to take a minute to thank Premier Family Eye Center for making our experience such a pleasant one. My son, Andrew, and I were looking for a new eye doctor, and we have definitely found one in you. From the minute we walked through the door, we felt comfortable and you can tell the staff really cares for each one of their patients. It is a welcoming atmosphere, and you don't feel rushed so they can get to the next appointment. Andrew was nervous about wearing contacts for the first time, but you guys were great helping him and putting his mind at ease. He loves them now!! Dr. Young was wonderful, and you can tell she loves what she does. So, thank you for everything you do. I am recommending you to all of my friends and family.

Premier Family Eye Care
My whole family is patients of Premier Family Eye Care. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Young. My daughter was having problems seeing the board in class at school. I had taken her to three different eye doctors and none seemed to help. Dr. Young suggested putting prisms in her lenses which was exactly what she needed. Dr. Young is professional and extremely knowledgeable. She also is kind and compassionate and genuinely cares about every patient. Dr. Young's staff is pleasant and helpful. She has a great selection of eyewear as well. Dr. Young is my favorite, mostly because I went to get my eyes examined and I left with a friend.

Premier Family Eye Care
My family and I have all been going to premier family eye for the past few years. Prior to them we were very unhappy with our eye care doctor. We were referred by a dear friend and we are completely convinced that Dr Young and her staff is the best in the business. We have sent other friends to her as well as family and will continue to come here also!

Awesome place to go to for all eye care needs. We have been in for several issues -- one I needed glasses so I have seen Dr Young before (shes great) and my daughters both had to go in for eye issues. Everyone in our family always has a wonderful experience with Dr Young. We have referred her to many friends and will continue to do so.

Tips & Advices
To find a professional that fits your needs and wants, look for an optometrist with the proper licensing and compliance with state-specific legalities as well as these qualities: attentiveness, ability to listen, ethics, compassion, ability to communicate effectively and willingness to spend time with patients.
Vision, like dental, is often an additional voluntary cost for employers who provide health care coverage. As a result, it may not be included in basic company-sponsored insurance. Those who do have access to this type of coverage - or Medicare - often only pay for a portion of their eye exam services.
The cost of an appointment with an optometrist varies based on the services required. While a typical eye exam can range from $50 to $250, depending on location. If if glasses or contact lenses are prescribed, or tests are needed, the overall expense of an optometrist visit can increase.
The American Optometric Association recommended that patients have their first eye exam at six months of age, followed by another at 3 years old, and again at school age. At that point, Regular annual exams are recommended.
Ophthalmologists are eye doctors that have received higher levels of training than both opticians and optometrists, and can also perform eye surgery when necessary. Opticians design and fit eyeglasses, frames, and lenses that are prescribed by optometrists and ophthalmologists. They do not perform vision tests or write prescriptions for visual aids. Optometrists fall between ophthalmologists and opticians. Optometrists can detect and treat eye abnormalities, prescribe lenses, and complete eye exams, but cannot perform eye surgery.
