Imlay City Auto Sales
Stopped into Imlay City Auto Sales the other day to look at cars for my son. They are having and SUV sale. I found the owner friendly, a little funny even. Sales guy seemed ok. I plan on buying from them this week...

One star is an understatement! I found out after my car was supposedly fixed ! They did not fix anything! Same noises and problems as when I brought it in! Owner was rude and said not my problem! I found out there not even licensed mechanics! Beware!

Great staff!! They work with you and fit you in a car that you want. Not what they need to get rid of, like some dealerships do.Definitely recommend them if your in need of a vehicle.

Straight up stole $600 cash from me ! I pre-payed him $600 to install a motor in my Blazer. it never happened, he lost my keys which have still never been retuned to me. Broke both door locks and steering column to move it across street while his parking lot was being redone. left it unlocked, aluminum radiator, skid plates, radio knobs, intake, were all stolen. I had to take it somewhere else to get it dione ($400) He never installed the engine, yet kept my money. He used his body building hulking size to intimidate me out the door while screaming / spitting into my face at 3" away. I paid him cash to help out his failing business, yet I had to take it elsware to be repaired after waiting 8 months. Owner dad knew nothing about the cash deal, Rich pocketed the cash, didn't touch my truck, didn't have my money to return, so just kept the $600 and pushed me out the door. STRAIGHT UP STRONG ARMED ROBBERY. How he sleeps at knight is beyond me. HE'S A THIEF BEWARE

I can't say enough about how blessed we have been to know these guys. I have been taking my vehicles to Rich and Ryan since we moved to Imlay City and they have really gone above and beyond to keep us on the road. Excellent work and affordable pricing. They genuinely care about their customers and they know their trade. I won't take my vehicles anywhere else. Thanks guys for everything!

DO NOT buy from these people! They are crooks for real! First off, they sold me a vehicle that not even a week later was having problems starting once in a while and they told me to bring it in but nothing was fixed! Then a few months later the steering and other things starting going. They tell you there is a warranty but then when it comes time to fix it, most things aren't covered and you have to pay half of what is covered. They never told me this and I said so but they told me "it's in the fine print on your contract". So when I couldn't pay them that month because my money went to fixing the damn thing, they said it was fine but not even three weeks later they repossessed it! Now I owe over $6,000 for not "completing the contract terms". A bunch of Bologna!

This is a pretty unfair feedback comment - like you said you got a great deal - no only did we reduce the price - once - twice but again a third time when you showed up to pick it up with less than agreed - we removed a warranty with road service to try to meet your required price for the Durango and we both understood that accepting your price for the vehicle was all of the help that we could offer - you would be buying it 100% as is at that priceAlso when you called me (your salesman - not a mechanic) on Saturday I told you what you described sounded like an alarm or battery issue and if resetting the alarm or jumping the vehicle did not fix to problem (which it did) that you would need to get someone with mechanical knowledge to look at it.We do our best to offer a quality vehicle and offer a warranty with the vehicle to prevent any pitfalls that might accrue - when we remove the warranty at the customers request to reduce cost it is the customers choice to have a savings up front - we cant remove to warranty to save you money up front and warranty it too Short of closing my business early and driving an hour to give you a jump I am not sure what you expected or even had a right to expect knowing a warranty was removed at your request to make the deal happenIt is unfortunate that you would chose this avenue to voice half of the story - 99.9% of our customer leave happy with the vehicle, service and price
Tips & Advices
Using a variety of tools and processes, many of which require specialized training, auto body mechanics primarily repair cosmetic and structural damage to vehicles after accidents occur. They can also enhance a vehicle’s appearance and performance by replacing and adding new parts to a vehicle’s body.
This depends on the severity of the work that needs to be done. Something such as paintless dent repair for a few small dents can take an hour. Whereas auto body repairs for damages caused by a major accident can take multiple days to correct.
All auto body parts can be repaired but there is a threshold for the level of repairs possible. Parts can be damaged beyond repair and would need to be wholly replaced.
Auto body parts can be made from a wide variety of materials, usually based on what the part’s purpose is. Vehicle frames body panels, bumpers, roof racks, and other items that need to be strong and durable are usually constructed from steel, which is known for its durability and resistance to rust and high temperatures. But aluminum is quickly becoming a popular material of construction due to its lightweight yet durable nature. Body kits and other aftermarket parts like spoilers and hoods can be constructed from one form of plastic or another.
Yes, the vast majority of car makes and models have aftermarket parts available for many of their components. But higher-end vehicles typically have less aftermarket parts available since they often use specialized materials and manufacturing processes that are difficult to duplicate for many aftermarket manufacturers.
