Hyde Park Auto Repair
"Arrived about 9AM on a Thursday, after a short wait got the bad news about what needed to be done with my son's car who is in College and I thought this is going to be 2 days minimum without a vehicle. Well I was then given the good news "We'll have it done by 4:30" I almost fainted. Well I thought I'd get a call later telling me it would take a little longer to finish, WRONG they called at 4:30 and said OKAY It's ready. The staff was went out of their way to get this job done and done right. "Here's the bottom line: Hyde Park Auto Repair is HONEST. They're known for not selling you services don't really need. If trustworthiness is important to you and a price you can afford go to Hyde Park Auto where your work is done right the first time. Thank you Hyde Park Auto for your time and work I can feel at ease knowing my son is driving safe.

Hyde Park Auto Repair
We were coming back from visiting FDR'S home on Hyde Park new york I started having a problem with my car and got lucky to find Hyde Park Auto as they were closing their doors. They took a look at my car and told me that my alternator. They told me that it cost $300.00 dollars to fix. I only had $240.00 dollars in cash and they took the $240.00 dollars with the agreement that I will mail them a check for the balance. After staying almost 40 minutes late they had my car back up and running and my family and I were able to make it home to keyport new jersey.

I absolutely love the workers at Hyde Park Auto Repair. Mike and Maddie are the most honest, down to earth owners anyone could ask for (and they won't try to rip you off!) I've brought various cars here over the past 2 years and never for the same thing twice. After my car got totaled in a snowstorm, they sold me one of their cars, and never had to bring it back for any service except an oil change. Everyone I talk to that has car problems I send here.. Their prices are reasonable, the owners are honest, and you get the company of a dog while you wait.

Moved from South Carolina to Hyde Park, NY a few months ago. Neighbor recommended them for tires. As I sat in waiting area I was amazed how the Owner knew every person that walked through the door for service & they spoke as they were life long friends. This is really a very reliable neighborhood establishment with caring folk that are genuinely concerned about their customers. I feel so happy to have found them. What a fine bunch of people.

Hyde Park Auto Repair
Brought my truck in for new tires, brakes, and an oil change after receiving a very high quote from another shop down the street. Not only did Hyde park auto practically slash the other quote in half, but the very kind mechanic & secretary gave me a coffee and we had a great conversation! The mechanic is very knowledgeable and the dogs are cute too!! Highly recommend to anyone & I will be back!

Hyde Park Auto Repair
Scheduled appt for repairs and was totally satisfied with the service. The staff were pleasant, the amount charged was lower than what I had been quoted by 2 other auto repair shops in the area. I didn't have to wait days to get my car back. I would highly recommend this auto repair shop and I intend to take my car there for future repairs.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
