University Cleaners & Laundry
All I have to say is this place is a perfect representation of poor customer service when there is a issue to be handled. I have been a customer for years. They ruined my ball gown and I'm told the night before that it's been ruined. To top it off, nothing is being done to handle this issue, whoever Pat is, he believes it's ok to not handle business and leaves his staff completely clueless on how to handle these issues. I came back the next day at 230 after work and still nothing done!!! And he is no where to be found, still no answers on what can be done to rectify this issue then to top it off I'm being told that I have to wait till Monday to get an answer and come at his hours of convenience of 6 am!!!! Meanwhile I'm out of a dress and money I spent for my gown and event ticket because of this inconsiderate establishment!!! Does anyone have suggestions for a new cleaners? I'm through with this place!

Gates Cleaners
Gates Cleaners has always done a wonderful job with my clothes. I have never had any problems. They have cleaned my wedding dress, my daughter's wedding dress, several formal gowns, men's suis, beaded dresses, etc. and they have always done a perfect job. Very friendly helpful staff. Manager called me personally to discuss the cleaning of a vintage outfit that I had dropped off. Strange how there are 3 bad reviews in a row. I don't believe they are legitimate. I know they will refund your money if they destroy your clothes.

DESTROYED WEDDING DRESS!!!They destroyed my wedding dress and had the nerve to tell me that they are not responsible and was like we cleaned it at no charge!!!! Told me to go back to where I bought the dress from and even they said that the cleaners is responsible!!! I had to find another cleaners to not only clean the dress but also make alterations for the color bleeding onto the white part of my dress. They knew that they jacked up my wedding dress and tried to hide the fact that they did it. The manager is no help and neither is the owner!!! How have they been in business so long. I AM HEATED AT THE EXTRA MONEY I HAVE TO SPEND BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT THEY DID!!! CHOOSE OTHER CLEANERS!!!

DESTROY SUITS at customers expenseGates Cleaners ruined my suit skirt with a black BURN mark on the front of my skirt. Staff told me "Sorry" they knew the damage was from their cleaners and I would have to talk to the manager. After weeks avoiding me, the manager told me they will not pay for the damage. On another occasion, the staff lost my $220.00 suit that took 25 min to find. BEWARE!!!!!!

Dropped a dress off Monday for cleaning. Same dress was cleaned by them last year for $25. Got a call the day before it was supposed to be ready telling me the price would actually be $50! They made an assumption about the function it was to be worn to and doubled the price! I don't want anyone else to get taken by this dishonest business! Choose another cleaner for special occasion dresses.

Poor customer service. They ruined a comforter of mine and will do nothing about it. I brought it to be dry cleaned and they tore a hole in it and will not replace . This is the worst service I have ever received. They do not stand behind their work.

Tips & Advices
Homeowners can purchase carpet cleaners ranging from compact units to full-size industrial-strength machines. Some models specialize in removing allergens from pet hair, while others may work better on tough stains. Some carpet cleaners can be bulky and require ample storage space. Other features you may want to consider for in a cleaning unit include: attachments that work on upholstery, stairs, bare floors, or small spaces; brushes; and a removable hose.
Renting is usually much cheaper than owning a machine or hiring a service. But not all rental units perform equally, some might require extra drying time or the use of special solvents that will cost more. - Renting a unit means you must also move furniture yourself and pay close attention to ensure you're operating the unit correctly. Making a mistake could mean damaging your carpet or the unit itself. Improperly drying carpet could allow harmful bacteria and mold to grow.
Yes. This may involve specifying exactly what services you would like performed, as well as the size of your home's carpeted area. Make sure you understand exactly what is included in a quoted price. Some businesses may charge extra to move furniture, clean stairs, or use special treatment methods. Ask questions if any detail about the quote is unclear.
Decide which method you want to use by taking into consideration not only cost, but how long the process will take from start to finish, including drying time. Don't always go with the service offering the lowest price, or hire a service who advertises door-to-door or over the phone, unless you have done thorough research on them. Ask if the company conducts background checks on employees, as well as if they are insured in your state. Without liability insurance, a mistake that results in damage to your home or furniture may be your responsibility to pay for.
Using powerful solvents to break down dirt and stains, dry cleaning puts less physical stress on the carpet, and thus might be better in the long run. However, dry cleaning is usually more expensive than hot-water cleaning services. In addition, the chemicals used to dry clean carpets might irritate pets, people with sensitive skin, or anyone sensitive to strong odors.
