I went up last week to buy a chuck roast and asked to have it cut in half lengthwise because that is how I like to grill it.. The guy behind the counter had to ask the manager if it was ok and had an attitude. Then the manager came out and said it would just fall apart. I explained that is the way I wanted it cut regardless, and HE had an attitude and again said it would fall apart , but did fulfill my request, all the time having a huffy attitude. Needless to say, it did not fall apart. Then I go up today to purchase a package plan. Half the meat was frozen (which was not specified) so I explained I wanted all fresh. The clerk said quite condescendingly that " SEE, It states it right here!! " while shaking the plan printout at me like I was an idiot. All it says on the website is "freezer plans "which does not necessarily mean the meat comes frozen. If that is the case, then why was half of the order fresh??? You can purchase all fresh and freeze all or some at your leisure, correct? The point of going to the butcher is to get fresh meat. I suggested to the manager they should specify on their website the meat may or may not be frozen. Without any recollection of my previous encounter, the same manager had an even bigger attitude. As previously stated in many other reviews, these New Yawker people have a very harsh way of dealing with customers, very cocky like they are the only game in town. They will NEVER get any more of my business!! The manager is the true idiot!!!! My friend used to work there and saw them drop a whole tray of ground chuck on the floor and they just put it in the meat case!!!! Their prices are not any cheaper than Publix anyway. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
