EZ Floors
Great customer service and low prices too! I am a comparison shopper and VERY picky. I also can't stand pushy salespersons. Well, after shopping all over the Houston area, I got the best customer service and the lowest prices for wood floors, tile, and travertine at this store. It took me a very long time to decide which wood floor to get and my salesperson, Shawn, was so patient with me. I must have changed my mind a dozen times. Poor guy...lol He took me to see some of the floors down since I was having a such a hard time trying to pick a floor from a small sample. I decided on a gorgeous Anderson wood floor and the installers were top notch as well. I also purchased tile from EZ Floor to do my bathrooms and my showers. Shawn told me about a special they were running on a gorgeous tile that looks very much like slate. It's not something I would have chosen without his recommendation but I'm so glad I took his advice...it looks fabulous in our bath and I love it. I even changed my mind about the tile pattern for our shower the day before the install and Shawn made the changes without incident. I'll definitely call Shawn at EZ Floor for my next project...slate on our back patio. :)

Hardwood creations
Hardwood Creations is a great company unfortunately its sad you are not able to see the other reviews besides this negative review. We spent over $40,000.00 on our wood flooring project and Robert was a total professional. He came over to assess the project the day I contacted him and quickly followed up with a very reasonable wood flooring estimate for a custom, complicated hardwood floor installation & refinishing. Despite some minor setbacks with the hardwood flooring supplier here in Houston, he still managed to finish the job a day ahead of schedule and on budget. Not to mention he left our home cleaner than he found it. I'm impressed with his work ethic and the end result. I was shocked to receive such personalized, thoughtful attention to detail. We'll be hiring him for every project we have from now on.

Knoa's Distribution Inc
Flooring shopping isn't the sexiest thing in the world. It's an expense that most people probably don't look forward to, and not only is stressful its scary, so many options to choose from. But I was determined to find not only the most affordable laminate but the most durable with the best quality, after a few days of calling stores to find out prices and durability I decided to do my research on Knoa’s products, to my surprise the customer service was outstanding, friendly and knowledgeable they were able to explain clearly about warranties and quality of their products as well as giving me a list of retail store where I could purchase their products. Now my house looks beautiful with maple shadow laminate, we love it! Thank you Knoas for taking the time of creating such of an amazing floors!!!

Dick N' Sons Floor Covering
The Rafferty's and their staff are outstanding! Low key, professional guidance in buying the right floor covering to meet our needs without going over board price-wise. Trained, professional installers did a marvelous job on carpeting and a new kitchen floor for our home. Plus, their certified floor covering cleaning staff did a terrific job of keeping our carpet looking as good as new after the first 18 months. And, the cleaning crew even helped some of our older carpet look a LOT BETTER!

Reliable Hardwood Floors
They replaced all the 1/4-round shoe molding, and re-did some of this willingly when we wanted the upper edge to be level instead of sloped (there are different levels of flooring in the apt.). We thought this job would be a nightmare. But it went so well, my only regret is that I can't keep doing this year after year! It was such a treat to see this beautiful new red oak flooring replace our busted-up parquet tiles.

Carpet Floor Designers
We purchased tile for the master bedroom and carpet for the second floor. We wanted tile that would look like wood and we found it for a good price. The carpet selection is very good and we found the color and texture we wanted. The installers were on time, courteous and diligent. The house has been transformed to a state better than we imagined. Overall it was a very good experience.

Houston Flooring Warehouse
I use Houston Flooring Warehouse for all of my contracting projects, big and small, and they always come through for me with the best wholesale discounts. It feels great knowing I only have to make one phone call to have my flooring needs met on a regular basis. Truly a great place...
Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.
