On Friday,May 11, 2012, while visiting my sister in Houston, I experienced severe NSAIDS adverse effects of excruciating abdominal pain and spams; continuous projectile vomiting, dehydration, and blood pressure of 164/114. Within less than five minutes, Pam, the RN on duty, escorted me into an examination room and in the epitome of compassion, empathy, and professionalism, immediately performed a very thorough assessment of my vitals signs; detailed and extensive inquiry pertaining to my current pain, and relevant medical history . Three minutes later, Dr. Mark IM, (ER MD on that day) assessed and evaluated my excruciating abdominal pain and promptly rendered appropriate medical treatment which consisted of: IV fluids,(for dehydration due to excessive projectile vominiting); Lab work (for purpose of obtaining baseline of my electrolytes); and IV medications for abdominal distress, spams, vomiting. I arrived at Sacred Heart 24 Hour Emergency Center at 9:30AM and by 11:30AM was home, resting quietly. In addition, Dr. IM referred me to a GI specialist. I was a RN for 23 years and worked many speciality units, including ER. I am blatantly honest to proclaim that all Emergency Centers, ER, and Urgent Care Centers MUST AT LEAST ATTEMPT TO ACHIEVE THE OUTSTANDING LEVEL of PROFESSIONALISM, INCLUSIVE of RENDERING EMPATHETIC and COMPASSIONATE CARE to ALL THEIR PATIENTS. Therefore, it would behoove other Emergency Centers in Houston to model Sacred Heart 24 Hour Emergency Center. Lucila Leal, School Psychologist
We moved to Houston three years ago, and I got sick right after we got here. I was looking for an affordable place mostly because I had no health insurance at the time. I was very surprised by the quality of care I received during my first visit; although we have health insurance now, we still go to Clinica Corazon Hispan because they don't try to do unnecessary tests just to get money out of you. They take care of you fast, and in a very friendly manner.(Nos mudamos a Houston hace tres años, y me enferme justo después de que llegamos aquí.
Government assistance is government assistance, you guys. What are we to do BUT get a job! GET A JOB so that you do not have to deal with these people in ANY way! In my opinion, the government really doesn't want to have to issue out money to anybody, so they make it difficult. I agree with them in a way! Nobody is given handouts, but at the same token stuff happens in life to people; therefore, people need the help. At least help exists. If you get denied look for other alternatives. The government will not deny you for no reason. I mainly wish that the government's employees were all on the same page via information because unfortunately, they are not. Also, I wish that the government's employees had BETTER communication! In other words, it may help to give a little heads up to look out for something that we are going to receive in the mail, especially if we have to respond to it by a certain DATE! THIS HELPS!!!!

After an accident on her scooter, we brought our daughter to Texas Orthopedic Hospital's ER (since it was a Sunday). We were seen within 15-20 minutes, not left waiting hours and hours. After a set of x-rays, the ER md on call explained to us she had broken her tibia and a bad break. We were admitted overnight and surgery was worked in the following morning with Dr Bloome. He took her early to avoid more pain and to prevent her from having no food or drinks for too long. Surgery went great! She did therapy in the PT job for a few weeks after surgery and now, she's back to her active self. Fantastic job by the surgeon, the nurses and the rehab dept!!!!

I am thankfully blessed to have met Dr Pearsall and to be able to receive EDTA Chelation treatments from him and his team. Due to my medical history and future risks, and concerning symptoms, I have completed the initial, prescribed, 40 weekly treatments and from there continue my maintenance treatment once a month. Dr Gurney is very knowledgable and I have referred many to him already. Thank you Doctor Gurney for making this treatment available and for your monthly sign-up plan that assists us, your patients, to afford to live healthier and longer. The "very concerning" symptoms that I experienced in the beginning, are all gone!
