Dr. David Lionberger - Southwest Orthopedic Group
As Always the entire staff was gracious and very professional. Everything was explained to me clearly. The office suites are comfortable and clean. Amanda and the gentle man in X-ray were kind and patient when positioning me for x-rays. Daisy and April are cordial and helpful with the forms and any questions I have. They welcome you like family. Maria is gracious and professional and knowledgeable about what is needed for surgery or other treatments. Dr.Lionberger is professional, patient ,compassionate and explains everything beautifully so I understand. Dr. Lionberger is knowledgeable and understands and puts on at ease. Dr. Lionberger definitely is highly knowledgeable about the humans body and takes time to explain what is happening and how the situation can be made better In the most efficient appropriate manner. The entire staff is a blessing to any one coming to see them with a health issue. I am truly blessed to have them taking care of me. I trust them explicitly.

K. Mathew Warnock M.D.
My husband found Dr. Warnock. Previously, we had a close encounter of other doctors who showed lack of knowledge and/or their office staff was unprofessional. I was really "gun shy", thinking to just live with rotator cuff pain. On the first visit, Dr. Warnock's medical explanation was "spot on" and his warmth and kindness put me at ease. His office staff were so helpful and easy going, from the front desk to his medical assistants. Everything was just so smooth and seamless. Dr. Warnock is very talented and caring. During my surgery, a road block occurred, but Dr. Warnock apparently anticipated road blocks and was "Johnny on the Spot" to fix it. I read my surgery notes. The other doctors, i.e. anesthesiologist, etc. gave Dr. Warnock an excellent surgical review. I am quite sure that every surgery he performs is just as perfect and excellent as mine.

Extremely professional, efficiently run offices. Atmosphere war and friendly. Staff works well with appointment changes and returns calls when a patient has questions about their condition. Reassuring to me. Even people in the halls will stop and ask if you need assistant in finding your way. My Husband wasn't to happy about my wanting to drive back and forth to Houston from Austin but this his best friend is patient of Dr. Lionberger considering maybe be a bad or ill fitting knee replacement for the rest of my life , the mile and little extra cost for laser assisted surgery with Dr. Lionberger, was well worth it to both of us.

Dr. Lionberger and Sarah are my angels! They have given m the gift of mobility. My surgical hip works like a dream and is almost as good as my God given one. The surgical procedure and recovery was extremely easy and there were no complications. And Sarah has been available anytime that I had issues or concerns. I tell everyone about you and recommended you to my best friend. May the Good Lord richly bless you for the healing that you are doing. Thank you, thank you and thank you for giving me back a 'full' and pain free life.

Houston Headache Institute
Ive suffered for 10+ years with migraines and been through my share of doctors. Never met any doctor like Dr. Sammour. He is aggressive and does not waste any time. He makes you feel comfortable and feel like "its not all in your head" when you explain your problems. I cried leaving the office because I felt like I am getting my life back. EVERYONE in this office is patient, caring, and understanding. I cannot express how much these people mean to me. Don't waste your time with anyone else!!

I cannot think of anything to improve the procedure. I think the pre op strengthening is definitely needed. My right knee replacement (5yrs ago) by Dr. Lionberger is a big success, but I had more pain etc. This was improved from a pain and therapy viewpoint. I only took 6 or 8 pain pills and therapy was much less painful. I took pain pills preceding my first 6 therapy sessions and no more after that.I know of many knee replacement cases (friends) and none are as successful as mines.

It is about a two hour drive to come see Dr. Lionberger and if we had to drive longer it would be worth it. Best doctor and best staff. Maria always attentive, friendly and professional. April and Daisy at the receptionist desk are always friendly and on top of their game. I like how everything flows in the office. After I saw Dr. Lionberger I was directed to Monique who was efficient and saw to it I was able to get an MRI all in the same day. Thanks for everything!

Tips & Advices
Scoliosis is a disorder where the spine curves sideways. Most people develop the condition during the growth spurt before puberty. The cause of scoliosis is unknown and most cases are mild, but the rare severe instances can disable a person.
Orthopedic surgeons attend four years of medical school, then four to five years of orthopedic residency in a hospital. They must also be licensed and certified in orthopedic surgery by the state in which they practice.
The terms "orthopedic doctor" and "orthopedic surgeon" refer to the same profession. Related specialties include podiatrist, a doctor who works with the bones, tendons and ligaments in the feet, and a sports medicine physician, a doctor specially trained to treat athletes.
The cost of a visit to an orthopedic surgeon depends on the type of tests ordered and treatment given. For example, an MRI costs $500-$1,300. An initial consultation costs $100- $500, while anesthesia for a procedure generally ranges from $2,000-$4,000. Overall, an orthopedic surgery can cost anywhere from $15,000 to $30,000.
During a consultation or first appointment with an orthopedic surgeon, the practitioner will ask the patient a variety of questions to understand the situation. The surgeon might ask about the patient's pain levels, medical history, and any prior injuries. Then, the surgeon will administer a physical exam and possibly schedule tests to better understand the problem. Possible tests include a stress test, x-ray, or MRI.
