My counselor was eating during the interview and kept asking me how to spell stuff as she typed into her laptop. She was sick and continued to cough throughout the appointment. I'd never go there again due to her unprofessional manner.

I was in crisis. Depressed all the time. Thoughts of ending my life. When I finally get the courage to reach out for help I chose dr newman. I drove a long way to met with him. But I was turned away because I didn't have any other choice but to bring my son with me. I was told he couldn't do therapy with children in the room. After I emailed him to let him know how I felt about his service and I would let others know how I was treated he emails me back that he will contact a lawyer if I say anything false or derogatory. These are my opinions of him and how I was treated. On top of that he missed the point of the email. I CHOSE him and he was not flexible enough to work with me.

Paint A Part
Beware! This company is very dishonest. I ordered a bumper and received it broken in three places. They received credit from the shipper. Over a month later I received another damaged bumper. This time they would not reply. Took my money and left me with two pieces on garbage to pay to get rid of. BEWARE!!!

I have been going to him for 10 years. He is the most compassionate Dr. and very accessible. No matter when I call, he returns the call as soon as possible. I would rate him 20 out of 10.

This place is absolutely terrible. I followed all of their instructions on their website and still got no where. I was already anxious to make this appointment and have really struggled lately. The poor quality of service just adds insult to injury. After muddling through the confusion instructions on the website, I called my insurance, paid the $3 fee to access the patient portal and filled out the information requested and scheduled an appointment. I was so proud of myself and felt good. That evening I received the new patient packet which was very confusing to fill out and nothing was explained in terms of using the electronic signature. I asked a friend to help and messaged the counselor back in hopes to get more information because scouring the website gave zero results. I wouldn't have asked if I had found my answer on the website. I received a message basically telling me that the information I needed was on the website and another message mentioning that although in network, they may not be able to help me because of one thing or another that I did not understand. Fast forward to a day later and I received a request for more information regarding the message they sent about the insurance information. You'd think a business, especially one for mental health services, would have better etiquette and more compassion. None of my questions were answered. Because I was so desperate I even asked friends to help. They, as well, tried to call to no avail and were sent to voicemail 4 times. Along with this, they state that the office doesn't even listen to their voicemail messages. Why even set one up in that case? Honestly one of the worst experiences I have ever had and if I were someone needing mental health services, I would NOT waste my time on this place. However, I am thoroughly surprised that after messaging the online portal and cancelling my appointment, I finally received communication and it seems things are getting worked out.
Tips & Advices
Group counseling is when one or more counselors lead a group discussion, usually between five and 15 people. The group may focus on a shared experience or situation, and provide support and encouragement to the other attendees.
Each state defines its own requirements for what licenses and education are needed to be a counselor. It's common for counselors to have a bachelor's degree in psychology or a similar field, as well as a master's degree. After that, counselors should obtain their state license, and can move on to achieving other licenses like the:
  • National Certified Counselor (NCC) license
  • Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) license
  • Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) license
  • Forensic Health Evaluators (FHE) license
  • Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) license
  • Certified Family Therapist (CFT) license
This all depends on the patient's goals and circumstances. Some people are happy with their results after just a few sessions; others continue to meet with their counselors for years. There is no right or wrong length of time to go to counseling.
Anyone can benefit from counseling services. Counseling can help you gain greater insight into yourself; deal with feelings of sadness, worry, depression or anxiety; as well as work out relationship problems, trauma or addiction. Not every type of counseling service works with every person.
Yes. Except in very specific situations, a counselor will never repeat conversations from a counseling session. Situations where information from sessions might be shared include:
  • If the counselor believes the patient might harm him or herself, or someone else.
  • If the counselor wants to get a second opinion on the patient's treatment. If this is the case, the counselor should seek the patient's written permission before consulting another professional.
