After exhausting our local options we put the discovery 1 on a trailer and took it here. Most reviews were good so we thought we were lucky to find one only 5 hours away. We were mistaken. Maybe for maintenance work they would be ok, but to actually diagnose and fix the problem, I would never recommend them. The first time they had it for 2 weeks and $1100 later we had a tuneup, an ignition coil, new ground wire and spark plugs.... and a vehicle that still couldn't make it out of the parking lot. So keys in overnight slot again and it stayed for another 2 weeks. Both times my husband was told it was running well and they had been driving it around. Amazingly after one month and all the "driving" they did, we had 2 miles put on the truck and it still wouldn't get out of the parking lot. All of the things we had already replaced they replaced again... (ignition coil, oxygen sensor...) and wanted to keep it longer since they thought it was the mass air flow (had 2 sitting in the truck since we already went that route) and kept telling my husband the catalytic converters were blocked (3 months old... and would blow leaves across a parking lot). 2 days after trailering it home (another 5 hour trip there and 5 hours back) my husband talked online to a landrover owner who had similar issues. After checking the crankshaft sensor (as suggested) he discovered the 2 wires to/from the sensor were melted together. After fixing that problem it still "missed". So he went to look at the crank position ring and discovered a tine bent over. Because of this the sensor couldn't see it and was missing. After gently bumping the tine back up into place the sensor saw it and the missing stopped. It is running smoothly and perfectly. Now he just has to figure out why, after they rewired it, the front windows wont roll up or down, and the front sunroof won't either. I am not saying these people didnt want to fix it, I am saying that they should admit when they don't know and quit being parts replacers instead of mechanics. Also their master mechanic never seemed to be around, which makes me wonder if he was would it actually have gotten fixed. If you need a tune up, then this really doesn't apply to you but if you need a problem diagnosed you might want to think before sending it here. $2000 later and still not running any different when you pick it up, you have to ask if it is really worth it.
If you are reading this post because you are searching for a body shop that is relatively cheap but yet performs reasonably good work or better without getting ripped off, then you might want to continue reading my experience with Gessner Auto Tech. First, no one has paid or asked me to write this post. I am writing because I am an extremely satisfied customer though I was very hesitant to do business with them in the beginning. Let me explain.Your first impression pulling up and weaving throw the unevenly parked cars and perhaps wreckage from previously repaired vehicles is likely to go out the same way you came in and I would have probably done just that if someone had not parked behind me. Appearance wise it is not the most upkept facility. However, if you are willing to look past the less than perfect groundskeeping, you will be glad you did. First, before I explain the extent of the damage to my car, let give you some background. I come from a long line of auto body tradesmen in my family. When I was younger my father owned a paint and body shop. To make a long story short, I understand the auto body repair business and an eye for quality. My car damage: I was hit in the passenger side door the extended damage to the front fender and lower quarter panel. The door, door post, and fender had to be replaced. Approximately 3 weeks later the repairs were completed. Again, an eye for auto body repair quality, here's what I looked for: - I looked at all the gaps between the hood, fender and door for even alignment – perfect! - I looked for a smooth open and door shut – perfect!- I looked down the side of the door and quarter panel for any uneven body work – perfect!- I looked for sand paper scratches in the paint which usually reflects improper prep work before painting – perfect!- I looked for any orange peel effects in the paint – perfect!- I checked for over-spray on parts and windows that wasn't painted - perfect! The craftsmanship and detail that went into the preparation of my car is as equally if not better than a large dealership (and of course much cheaper). I am absolutely giddy about the finished product! Without reservation nor hesitation, I can strongly recommend Gessner Auto Tech. By the way, they paid my deductible!
Lone Star Auto Service-Clay Road
I am so happy with Lone Star Auto Service. I rear ended someone and damaged the front end of my car as well as caused the airbags to deploy all along the driver's side. It was towed to the Lone Star storage lot. When I showed up there the next day I was very anxious and ready to release my car to another body shop and get the process moving ASAP and put all of the mess behind me. Lone Star Auto Service offered to do my repairs. Allison told me about the process and let me know that all the mechanics are highly certified and that was who would be performing the repairs. She also mentioned that they would use genuine brand new parts from the manufacturer of my car (Ford). That is something that really stuck with me and made me want to leave my car there. However, I was still a bit hesitant. I got to see the garage where I met the manger of the establishment, Sean. He put all my fears to rest. They showed me what my lifetime warranty would look like for my Ford parts, as well as assured me that only a highly certified mechanic would be touching my car. After the initial estimate, Lone Star Auto Service was able to give my car a detailed inspection and find stuff that the insurance either missed, or didn't care to find out. That is something that I am majorly grateful to Lone Star for because I have had a claim on a previous vehicle and went with a preferred place from the insurance and there were a lot of little things they missed, such as temperature and airbag sensors. Not this place. They found everything that was wrong with my car and restored it back to the factory condition that I bought it in. I feel very secure in knowing that I have brand new parts and that they didn't miss anything. My Ford Fusion 2016 looks brand new and you can't tell that anything ever happened! I would recommend this place to anyone that needed car repairs. These people are very thorough, and get the job done correctly! Best Regards,-A very happy customer! :)
In the last four years, I have taken three cross country road trips: Northeastern and Canada in 2010 (5300 miles), Yellowstone national park and more in 2012 (5200 mi) and Key West in 2013(3200 mi), all with my 2001 Honda Odyssey. Now the minivan has 145,000 miles on it. Before each trip, I took the car to Autorite for a pre-trip checkup and tune up. For long road trips, the most concerned part is a potential car breakdown in a middle of nowhere. I cannot say I did not have worries, but I can honestly say I had a peace of mind with each trip because I had my car inspected and serviced by Autorite. That is the trust and confidence I have with Autorite for each of my long trips.I also have a 2011 Honda CRV, bought as brand new. Except for the first free oil change by the dealer, I have never gone to other shops besides Autorite, again, because I trust Autorite. I had once a car accident on my 1998 Honda Civic (sold in 2012 with 201,000 miles) which resulted in damage to the rear bumper. The insurance initially just wanted to have the bumper repaired. I left the car to Autorite for them to deal with the insurance. I was pleasantly surprised that Autorite was able to replace the bump on that old car with dealer’s genuine new part all covered by insurance.Do I get a discount from Autorite? No. I wish I could receive a discount as their loyal costumer, but that is not what I really look for (for sure I will definitely love to receive discounts). What attracts me to and makes me stay with Autorite for the last 7 years is the trust, mutual respect, their courteousness and definitely the high quality of service.
USA Auto Collision Center
I had an accident for the very first time in my life,it was a very frightening and scary ordeal. Being a 19 year old girl in college, and having no family here to get any type of assistance, the wrecker driver at USA Auto Collision Center took me home after my accident since I was in no condition to be taken to get a rent-a-car at the time. The following day I called to find out the procedures that I needed to take to get my vehicle fixed to the people at USA Auto Collision Center. They picked me up from my house, so I could get assistance with the claim procedures. They helped me call in the claim to my insurance company, to help me get my repairs started. They even took me to go get my rent-a-car. While in the process of repairing my vehicle,my insurance company tried to short change my repairs by trying to put used and after market parts in my NEW vehicle. Richard Gonzalez, the owner of the company, personally got involved and made my insurance company pay for original dealer parts. When I went to pick up my vehicle, it was completed and they also detailed my vehicle completely. My vehicle has never looked better, I feel like its brand new from the dealership again. I want to thank USA Auto Collision Center for making this so easy for me, since I didn't have no family here to help me. I highly recommend this company.
I was involved in a hit and run. The insurance company referred me to James Chagos, and to be very honest, I couldn't have been more blessed and happy.. Look yall, I didn't know to much about all the things that involved with having an car accident, and these guys took out the time to explain things to me that I wasn't aware of. But, not only that. My insurance company is charging me all this money monthly for full coverage, and then I find out while I'm at James Chagos that my policy doesn't cover car rental.. Omg, these guys step right in and made sure I had a rental car to drive off in.. These guys paid for the rental car and all.. I had like $60 in my pocket that day not knowing how I was gonna get around to work and etc, after my insurance was a disappointment to me... Even though my car was drivable, James Chagos didn't let me drive out their property in danger.. They really looked out for my son and I well being... And for that, I'm so grateful to them.. Thanks you guys.. Oh yeah, and I will be posting my before and after pics of my vehicle on here for everyone to see how awesome James Chagos Body Shop is!!!!
