For a long time, I wanted to remodel my kitchen and add on a breakfast room. As a homeowner, I wanted to employ a contractor who could integrate all the components of a remodel and manage the entire process from start to finish, without my husband or me to oversee and inspect the project on a daily basis. After much research, I hired Unique Builders & Development Inc. From day one, upon meeting Steve, he was completely professional and showed a passion to make my dream kitchen a reality. Steve and his team gave us the incredible experience of watching our dream kitchen emerge from conception to reality. It was an enjoyable experience and no worries about quality, integrity, and honesty…it was there at all times. Their new and creative ideas made our kitchen truly incomparable to any other. They made every effort to discover our personalities and introduce them into all aspects of the remodel, making it uniquely ours. His team demonstrated meticulous craftsmanship and provided exceptional customer service. The kitchen and cabinet designers worked hand in hand with me to make sure that my kitchen utilized my space in the best possible way. During the renovation, the Superintendant was always responsive to any questions and concerns and any issues were immediately addressed.We have shared our experience with family and friends, and for those who have seen the transformation, they are all amazed at the attention to detail and quality that is seen throughout. What really sets Unique Builders apart from others is that you never feel like you are just another client…the team makes you feel like your project is the most important thing they are working on, and the results show. We have used AirCon for previous A/C work and they have always been fast, courteous and do great work. When our evaporator needed replacement, they went the extra mile and installed a switch in our overflow pan to prevent it from overflowing onto the ceiling. i didn't even realize it until the next time I went in the attic.This time AirCon came to the rescue when our furnace went out. The blower motor was making a lot of noise and I called AirCon. The technician came out and found that the vibrations had caused a gas leak in our attic! He quickly stopped the leak and diagnosed the problem. He then explained my options and gave me a written estimate for fixing the problem. I could either replacing the blower or replacing the entire furnace (both included fixing the gas leak). The furnace was 19 years old and was at the end of its life. I spoke to the tech about my options and he didn't pressure me, but recommended replacing the whole unit. I typically don't do the morst expensive option, but in this case, I decided to go ahead and do the whole furnace, since it was so old and the entire new unit would have a warranty.A few hours after he left the blower stopped running and we now had no A/C! I called back and they brought out a portable unit to keep us cool until they could replace the furnace. They did a great job and I am amazed at how quiet the new Rudd unit is! AirCon even had to do more work than anticipated due to my attic configuration, but honored the original estimate. They were very professional and a real life saver! Thanks AirCon!
My central AC was causing me lots of problems. Evey time it would get over 95 degrees it would shut down. It would come back on one to three sweltering hours later. I had called numerous AC people to my home in the past couple of years re this problem and heard many excuses and do this or that prevention suggestions, but no real fix.I called Air Con out on a Sunday night, and Ricky came. He checked everything and accessed the problem. Told me it was the compressor causing the issues, and that it should be replaced.(I had also read that this could be the problem online so it sounded right) We discussed approximate costs to replace the unit or just the compressor, I located the paperwork on the AC and he said he would check to see if it was still under warranty/ (the company who installed the system originally is no longer in business and we weren't sure if what was written in the blank spaces of the contract were i in effect) Fast forward to Tuesday Morning. Ricky had contacted the manufacturer, and it was indeed under warranty. I said order it. He did, and they (Clayton and Tony) installed it exactly 8 days later.I also want to say that Brandi called to make sure I was happy with the service call by Ricky. She also called back to schedule the install. Melissa called to make sure the install went as planned and to ask if I was happy with the service. I appreciate the detailed attention to my problem, and also the prompt professional caring service.
This company is as awesome as it gets. After calling another company to fix my A/C who gave me the typical "Your Compressor is out, and it will cost $1650.00" and temporarily fixed it, my A/C failed again for 2 more days, and after calling over 30 companies in 2 days for emergency Air Conditioning repair, Air Tech was the only ones that took the time to come out and fix my Air Conditioner. Not only did they fix my Air Conditioner (which turned out to be bad capacitors and dirty coils) but the Technician BILLY JR, had a great attitude, and great customer service. Not only that, but, what originally would have been $289.00 for coming out in the middle of the night and another $300 or so for, replacing 2 capacitors, cleaning the coils, adding freon and doing an inspection etc, he cut me a break at $89.00, which is not something that typical air conditioner companies do, trust me. I believe he went above and beyond what was expected of him, and my family and I are really appreciative of him and his company. He has our loyalty for the rest of the time we are living in this area. We are so glad to have called Air Tech, his magnet is on our fridge and we will call again if another problem arises, or we need an inspection. Thank you so much Billy and Air Tech.

Short version: I have nothing but raves for Steve and his team. They were great, I got a touch of HGTV crazy, I was talked back to reality, and I am beyond pleased with my final product. Also, I think it is really important to note that he was the only contractor I met with that didn’t play games or ask me to do the work without permits. The three other gentlemen I met with, who were all approved through Angie’s List and Home Advisor, were all pushing to work without permits or didn’t even bring it up until I asked. Steve and I were on the same page about how it had to be done properly and legally. It wasn’t a question, which spoke to the credibility of both Steve and Unique. These guys know what they are doing. Long story: I have a small tri-level house with only one shared full bathroom upstairs with an additional vanity area and sink in the master. Steve was able to take that space and turn it into two BEAUTIFUL full bathrooms. He was there with me and walked me through every step, including my panicked midnight emails asking stupid questions, which he assured me were not stupid… they were. He dealt with all of my indecision and gave opinions every time that I asked. I'm completely satisfied with Unique and Steve. Thank y'all for my BEAUTIFUL bathrooms!
We are new to the Houston area and were surprised at the huge number of bugs everywhere. Treating them ourselves hadn't made a dent in the numbers, so we had planned to contact a pest control service for help. As luck would have it, sales rep Ray Gonzalez happened to knock on our door as we were researching different companies. He did a great job of explaining everything the service provides and was willing to accommodate our needs, so we agreed to try Alterra. Service Pros Hayden Glazener and Josh Redelman came out the next day to treat the property and they were excellent! They explained everything to us and were so courteous and efficient as they took care of things inside the house and outside in the yard. They also took the time to let us know the problems they found, how long it would take before we noticed a difference, and what we needed to do in the event the treatment didn't resolve the issues. This is our first time with a regular pest control service and we weren't sure what to expect. But based on the service we've received so far, we're quite pleased with this company and would encourage others to try them.
My wife woke me up at 6 in the morning yelling the toilet is going to over flow how do I stop it. I got up and checked how the water was draining. It was draining S_L_O_W. I realized I needed to call a plumber to clean my drain. I belong to a service club that has plumbers. I called them up and asked the question how much to clean the main line. The lady informed me that she does not give prices the teck will come out and check the problem and give me a quote, HOW EVER THERE IS A $ 50 CHARGE IF I DONT GET THE SERVICE. I also had a $50 discount card for the plumber, the more I thought about it the more I wanted no part of it, sounds like a trap. I went on line and checked out different plumbers only to find out that the plumber in my club was only rated average. Texas Quality plumbing had more reviews than most and had an excellant rating.After using thier service I could easly refer them to a friend !! No the are not the cheaoest, how ever they imprest me as being stright foward, honest, and thie price was fair. I would also like to thank Mercedes, She does an excellant job in coustmer service.Tom
