Nee Hao Restaurant
I visit this hole in the wall about twice a month. The restaurant is next to a gas station, but don't let that lead you away from it. The place is pumping out huge portions of excellent food six days a week! The restaurant is kind of small, so you have to hurry to guarantee a seat. (Especially during lunch) The restaurant does offer a carryout service for those who can not wait. The carryout portions are just as large and are the same price as the dine-in portions. The only negative is that since it is in a small shopping strip next to a gas station, parking is hard to find. Plain and Simple -- The food is great Portions are huge Expect to wait Horrible Parking Old brown decor Quick, but quiet waiting staff You'll leave stuffed and happy Recommended meal: A large unsweetened tea C-20 (General Chicken) with the House Special Rice and a small wonton soup. Total: $12.55

Manny Molinar - State Farm Insurance Agent
When our previous State Farm agent relocated her office to another part of the city, we decided to look for a new agent located closer to our home. We called Manny’s office and were greeted by a very friendly and professional staff. We met with Manny in his office that same week to discuss transferring our policies, and adjusting our level of homeowners coverage due to a recent major renovation of our home. Manny was very attentive and had several good ideas as to how we could better calibrate our coverages and save some money. Especially helpful was his suggestion to have our remodeling contractor sign a certification statement confirming that our plumbing, electrical and heating & cooling systems had been updated. This suggestion alone resulted in a significant decrease in our annual homeowners premium!Any time we have a question about any of our eight State Farm policies (homeowners, 2-life, umbrella, 2-auto, personal articles, and long term disability), all we have to do is pick up the phone or email Manny…he is very accessible, extremely knowledgeable, and always quick to respond. We highly recommend Manny and his team!

Cafe Brussels
Catherine’s latest venture, Café Brussels is a great new addition to the Heights. Try the Tartare de Saumon dressed with a zesty Belgian country vinaigrette accompanied by a Belgian draft beer or glass (bottle!) of wine. You can’t go wrong requesting Catherine’s favorite mussel dish for a main course, Belgian classic, Moules Marinières, accompanied by a large serving of golden Belgian Fries. The large and succulent mussels are steamed to perfection and portion sizes are very generous! My dining companion enjoyed le Petit Pavé de Bruxelles, a perfectly cooked steak and le Cordon Bleu. Be sure to leave room for one of Café Brussels fabulous desserts! Catherine's crepes are among my favorites.Catherine Duwaz is both a good friend and a genuinely nice person. It brings me great pleasure to see a friend continue to succeed in a town that can be unforgiving to restaurateurs. Cafe Brussels is our new "go-to" place in Houston for great Belgian food. And to top it all off, the prices are very reasonable for the quality and the portions sizes are generous.

The Villagio
We decided on the Villagio & couldn't be happier! The venue is clean, spacious, and simply elegant. We had our ceremony and reception here. Trish, owner & overall planner, is prompt, thorough, charismatic and easy to work with. The venue is tucked away at the end of a street, with private parking & far from the street. There are inside/outside room options, but the trademark is a beautiful spiral staircase for a grand bridal entrance! The package we chose was the Ultimate II. This package comes with everything except the DJ and videographer so we didn’t have to worry about hiring various vendors for each part of our wedding. Trish already has a strong vendor selection. Our package came with food, cake, linens, floral arrangements, photo booth, lighting, photography, 2 HPD officers, and a wedding coordinator. We paid extra for drapery and it was beautiful. The caterers allowed us to test the food in a prior meeting so we can give them very specific details. Mr. & Mrs. King 08/12/2016

Tierra Luna Grill
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant ever. We have frequented a lot of Mexican food restaurants, and who hasn't when you live in Texas. But Tierra Luna Grill is by far the best I have ever been to.The flavor of the salsa is awesome. Evidently they grill the tomatoes for the salsa and who knows how they spice it up. The chips are warm and thin and crispy. They give you a small bowl of queso with the chips. I could dine on the chips and stuff alone. They were soooo good. And the waitstaff is terrific at keeping the bowls full and making their customers happy. The owner even came by and visited with us. She was wonderful. And then there are the entrees. All I can say is 'WOW!' They were marvelous. The Carnitas, Fajitas, and the Barbacoa are to die for. Perfectly cooked and spiced to enhance the flavor, not overpower it. The charro beans and spanish rice where super as well. Fantastic homecooked Mexican food and the waitstaff is great. We very highly recommend the Tierra Luna Grill.

Manny Molinar - State Farm Insurance Agent
Through acquaintance, we met Manny prior to him becoming an agent. Because of his excellent marketing and networking abilities, came to know of him becoming a State Farm Insurance Agent. Manny Molinar’s State Farm agency in Houston, Texas (we are in Dallas, TX) whether through Manny himself, or one of his staff: (forgive me if I leave anyone out) Alicia, Alejandra, Jennifer, Jorge, or the excellent State Farm after hours support, reassures we can trust Manny and our insurance needs through State Farm. Manny is the consummate professional, and after being with State Farm for years now, I know that he and his team, will take care for our insurance, and financial needs in a timely, professional, and highly admired level of communication or Customer Care. I strongly recommend Manny Molinar, and his State Farm agency, regardless of where you are located in Houston, another city in Texas, or out of state. Consider this as my endorsement for Manny, and his continued success!

SKECHERS Factory Outlet
I WAS LOOKING FOR A PAIR OF BLACK SHOES FOR WORK, WHICH YOUR STORE HAD A HUGE SELECTION. BECAUSE OF THE BOGO THE STORE OFFERED I DECIDED TO LOOK FOR A SECOND PAIR OF SHOES AS WELL. HOWEVER I FELT REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE, BECAUSE SECURITY FOLLOWED ME ALL OVER THE STORE. WHEN I ENTERED THE STORE HE WAS IN THE CORNER ON HIS PHONE. BUT IT SEEMED THAT AFTER HE NOTICED ME, HE SUDDENLY HAD THE URGE TO WALK ALL OVER THE STORE, BUT ONLY IN THE AREAS WHERE I WAS TRYING ON SHOES. NOT TO MAKE THIS A BLACK THING, BECAUSE HE WAS BLACK AS WELL. BUT BEING THE ONLY BLACK CUSTOMER IN THE STORE AT THE TIME AND HIM ALWAYS IN MY VICINITY, I FELT A LITTLE OFFENDED. I'M SURE HE WAS JUST DOING HIS JOB. BUT I WONDER WHY HE WAS'NT FOLLOWING THE OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE. I BOUGHT THE SHOES THAT I WANTED, BUT I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS STORE AGAIN.,

Baker's Shoe Store
Not that there's anything wrong with it, just that we're middle class. I went in the Galleria for the first time in August 2007, when I first moved here and I heard raves about it from work. Unfortunately for me, when I walked in I was quite embarassed. I felt like I didn't belong and the sales personnel gave us dirty looks and wouldn't help us. Granted there's so much to do, and the apartments there are $5 Mill each, it's just not meant for anyone less than upper class. The worse thing of all, are the rich snobby teenagers with their roaring voices, they're so loud and abundant that it's hard to carry on a conversation. Other than that, it's gorgeous and you can walk for 4 hours at least and still not be done with the mall.

Mike Harris - State Farm Insurance Agent
I was looking around for my first auto insurance when I was around 19 years old. When I walked into her facility I was greated immediately and respectfully. She sat down with me and I was nervous at the beginning but Renata explained everything beautifully and thoroughly. Made suggestions on what things I should have, what things are included in my coverage, and the different kinds of discounts I can receive from State Farm. There was a team member working for her that denied me a discount because she thought I was giving her a form that was not correct, but then Renata looked over it again and recorrected it. I am impressed as this was my first insurance I applied for and I am utterly impressed. Recommend Renata Pennington
Tips & Advices
Insurance agents will often try to "upsell" on various extra products that may be useful for certain people, but are generally excessive for the average consumer. Stick with basic plans that cover as much as you need without any additional costs. For example, if the annual cost of your auto insurance is 10 percent or more of the total value of your car, drop all but the most essential coverage. This is especially applicable if the car you drive is older and could be replaced with savings. Otherwise, you are paying for insurance that will never actually benefit you in the event of a serious crash.
Yes. Even after you've chosen a plan and started paying into it, consider looking around again when it comes time to renew the policy. Consider using an independent agent when searching for a new insurance policy. While traditional agents can still find a good deal, independent agents can choose from a variety of providers and tailor your coverage to your specific needs. The Internet has also made comparison shopping easy. Potential customers can often get free quotes online very quickly.
Send your insurer a claim form for each beneficiary in the plan, as well as a certified copy of the policyholder's death certificate. With the proper information, life insurance claims are generally straightforward. Problems may arise if the policyholder has died within two years of opening the policy. In this case, an attorney may be needed to settle the claim.
In the case of damage, take pictures of the affected area as soon as any safety or health emergencies are resolved. Take note of what happened and all the relevant circumstances and report to your insurer as soon as possible. If any of your possessions were damaged, use an inventory of your important assets and make note of this in the claim. Once an adjuster has made their own report, review it for accuracy.
If you're involved in an accident, you need to call the police right away and have them document the situation. You can file a claim upon obtaining the police report. It's also a good idea, if possible, to take your own notes to record: what happened before the accident, the date and time, traffic signs in the area and road conditions. Also get the other driver's name, address, license plate number, and insurance information. Even photos taken with a cell phone camera can help the claims process. Once you have this documentation, call your insurance company right away.
