As a young business owner and ex-auto dealer, who has purchased over 55 cars in 18 years, with a average of 50000 driving miles a year, I have seen and heard almost everything. It was nice to get a call form David Bagby in regards to the Taurus SHO, I built online @ 2am in the morning. What's interesting is, I didn't expect to hear form anyone until Monday, but today is Saturday. I explained to him that I have very high expectations of after the sale services and the reason for this is do to the fact I own very high end car such as the Audi A8L and the a Lexus LS460 and these car dealer have raised the bar for every other car dealer when it come to service. Grant it the SHO isn't a 65,000.00 Audi A8L but it is a suggested retail of $43,000 when I finish the spec. further more I'm spending my money. Years back I bought a car from Tommy Vaughn Ford and I had no problem with them at all. I called about a coolant leak I had one Monday and schedule to bring the car in later that day, which I did. Tuesday I got a call and the service adviser gave me the information as to what the technician had found (grant it he had no idea I was a Automotive Tech also) and I had already checked to see what was leaking. However he told me the lower radiator hose was bad and they would replace both upper and lower hoses and the thermostat as well a flush the coolant system as preventative maintenance. Car a getting more expensive and the service,experience and environment should be invigorating as spending $60,000.00 on a F350 or $40,000.00 on a Taurus. Bemer Motor Cars
I have used the auto repair services of Bemer Motor Cars for the past 3.5 years- since May 2011.I have a 2002 Range Rover 4.6HSE that I purchased preowned at 90,000 miles in 2007.Over the years they have repaired/replaced the following on my Range Rover 4.6HSE : ... transfer case; radiator and heater block; front drive shaft; oxygen sensor; motor mounts; brakes; radio, and air suspension system.With the exception of the air suspension system, once they repaired an item the first time, it stuck, never to give me concern again, even beyond the two year warranty.Regarding the air suspension system which is a challenge for all Range Rover owners, that too seems to finally be working properly now that the compressor and valve block have been replaced at 155,000 miles.So - for ACTUAL AUTO REPAIR, I give them a rating of 4 out of 5 starsBut - for SERVICE and Conveniences .... 5 Stars - EASY!RATING BEMER Motor Cars for Overall Service is higher. They truly deserve a rating of 5 Stars. For these reasons...Very Clean waiting area with Wi-FI ( in fact there are two waiting rooms -one a bit more quiet than the other)very clean ladies bathroomfree Coffee.. is available even in the middle of the day; a bowl full of peppermint candies at the front deskFresh Fruit ... I have observed them bring in fresh fruit bowls of pineapple; cantaloupe; mango; etc, to their mechanics in late afternoon and also serve fruit bowls to customers in the waiting area who have been there an extended length of time.They have a Shuttle Service that I have used, that will take you to local auto rental businesses and provide a discount with a couple of them OR it will even shuttle you home to wait for the repair. Jose, the driver is exceptionally nice. In fact, most all of the staff is. It is a family owned business.I have also used the Rental Cars that Bemer Motor Cars have onsite. These are usually below the rental rates for traditional car rental companies like Avis etc. ALERT! - Their gas gauges are also usually near empty so be sure and plan to swing by a gas station shortly after leaving the repair shop.Washed, Waxed, and Vacuumed. ...And finally once the repair is done and I pick up my Range Rover, it typically has been washed, waxed, and vacuumed.The two repair shops that I used for several years that had been mentioned in the Range Rover forums, didn't come even close to offering the level of services that are common at Bemer Motor Cars. No doubt, Bemer Motor Cars is not perfect, but their effort is commendable.Going forward, I have every confidence that when something breaks down in my vehicle, their crew will be able to make the correct repair and get me on the road again.

John Eagle Acura
I recently purchased a used car from John Eagle Acura, Houston TX and my sales rep was TJ Morin. I rate the dealership & especially Mr. Morin 6 out of 5 STARS, yes I know, but my experience really was that exceptional. Over my lifetime I have purchased at least 25 vehicles, new & used, for myself and family, but not only was this my first over the internet (I live in Pensacola Florida which is over 500 miles from Houston Texas), but also the first time that a full week later, I am 100% completely satisfied with the car, deal, dealership and especially the salesperson, no second thoughts at all – “WOW”.The first thing I asked when I called the dealership, about the car I had found on AutoTrader.com, and was transferred to Mr. Morin was; “The car looks good, but what are you not showing by the camera angles? Mr. Morin informed me that the car I was interested in was listed very recently and he had not yet had an opportunity to test drive the car & he would give me a call back. Within 60 minutes, Mr. Morin called me back and said that he had just driven the car himself and informed me of his impressions, both positive and negative (99% of which were clearly visible in the photos) and offered, I did not need to ask, to remedy all but one small item. This one item which was not highlighted in the online photos but was disclosed to me by Mr. Morin was that the “SRS” light was on and only a Mercedes-Benz shop could accurately determine the exact reason, which my local Mercedes shop confirmed. Just in case you are interested, the “BabySmart Airbag Deactivation System” which automatically deactivates the passenger side front air bag when a “BabySmart” Child Seat is installed is malfunctioning. Since I am in my sixties, I do not find this to be a major problem!I communicated with Mr. Morin multiple times viva email & phone and always received a prompt response and completely accurate information (Mr. Morin always answered his cell phone and if I called the dealership for him I was transferred to his cell phone). I received a call from Mr. Morin almost exactly half way home just to make sure I had not experienced any problems and once home, found an email from him asking that I please reply so he would know that I was home safe!My only regret is that due to the 500 miles, separating Pensacola, FL from Houston, TX, I cannot personally send many of my friends to TJ Morin and John Eagle Acura, but if you are considering purchasing a vehicle online and find one on their website, I believe you will find them as honest & above-board as I have. I can honestly say this has been my best vehicle purchasing experience ever!

EXPRO AUTO COLLISION & REPAIR CENTER
About three weeks ago I was involved in a collision that left my car unable to be driven. I was in Houston for the weekend, but I live in Austin. Luckily my car was covered under the manufacturer's warranty which included free towing. Upon arrival the tow truck driver recommended Expro Auto Collision and stated that I would be able to get a rental immediately. Since I had other business in Houston that required a vehicle, I decided to go with the recommendation.Upon arrival I was introduced to Sal, one of the managers, who assured me that I could in fact drive off in a rental later that day. Sal was very helpful and understanding of the situation as I was a bit panicked and scatterbrained at the moment. My last car accident was over 6 years ago and it was a horrifying accident that resulted in three cars being totaled out. Consequently I was definitely shell-shocked. Sal was extremely helpful in walking me through the claim process with my insurance company and I did in fact drive off in a rental.I had to return t Austin because I am a graduate student there, and throughout the entire process, Sal kept me updated on the status of my car. I was able to pick it up yesterday and it looks brand new. I drive a manual Mustang that has unique over the top stripes that are a dealer exclusive. My car had been previously dinged in a hit and run incident in a parking lot so there was surface damage on my rear bumper. They were able to fix this as well as an extremely reasonable cost compared to the estimates I had received from other shops. The also maintained the integrity of my stripes which extend to the lower rear bumper. In addition Mustangs have custom cores for their tires and my car had distinctive rims as well. Everything was replaced to look completely new and my car is as gorgeous as it was when I bought it. Overall I couldn't be happier with the service I received. I appreciated how the shop handled everything with the insurance company. I was even picked up from the bus stop by someone from the shop which is definitely above and beyond regular service. Throughout the entire process Sal kept me updated and even dealt with spam calling from my mom. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone. My car was freshly washed when I picked it up which is something NONE of the Ford Dealerships in the Houston area have done for me regardless of how long they've kept my car. Definitely the best experience I could have hoped for given the circumstances!

Dung Le made my car buying experience absolutely fantastic. From the transparency that he provided at the beginning of my search process to the way he comfortably juggled no less than five customers on the night that I arrived to complete my purchase, Dung exceeded my expectations in every aspect.To provide context, I had been warned via phone and email by other dealerships of the shenanigans that I would encounter when making a purchase from Russell & Smith. For example, the following are direct copies of statements that I received via email:Gillman Honda of West Sam Houston Pkwy S: "I just spoke with my General Manager. We want to earn your business sir but we do not know how Russel & Smith are getting to that price since there is no more Honda Flex cash left in Houston at any of the dealers. I hope they are not trying to play games with you to lure you in."Honda of Clear Lake: "I understand that you are trying to get the best price out there. Unfortunately some dealerships send out quotes that don't include all of the costs associated with the vehicle. The price I sent is actual dealer net on the vehicle. I have a lot of customers that end up going to the other dealerships only to see the price go up when they get there. If you end up going to Russel and Smith and the price goes up, I would really appreciate you coming and dealing with me."What is really funny is that while I did tell other dealerships the price that I had been offered from Russell & Smith, I never mentioned the actual dealership making the offer. The other dealerships apparently knew of Russell Smith's "devious tactics". Needless to say, my guard was up when I arrived to Russell & Smith, and I was ready to walk out if I encountered any questionable behavior.Fortunately, I had a great experience. I kept waiting for Dung to apply pressure or attempt to change the terms that we had previously discussed. Yet, he was very straight-forward and professional, and if anything, I probably seemed a bit paranoid as I waited for him to mislead me. Sorry, Dung :-).In short, Dung Le made my purchase process incredibly smooth, and I can only hope that I will be able to deal with him again the next time I need to make a purchase. Sterling McCall Hyundai
This was my fifth car purchased from a dealership and I can honestly say this tops them all. As a new parent on a budget and my car approaching its last miles I couldn’t imagine I’d be a proud owner of a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. Thanks to the team at Sterling McCall Hyundai I almost enjoy my 45 minute commute each morning. Below is the reason I rated them at the top of their class:Customer Service- Out of 10 inquiries to local dealers they were the first to contact me and offer their assistance in any way possible. Bill respected my time and was very patient with my specific needs (budget and time constraints). Without an appointment he welcomed me and although he had another client he set me up with a test drive right off so I would have to wait around.Quality of Work- For me efficiency is a big deal. Time is important and they did a great job managing mine. The whole process took all of two lunch breaks. Bill’s “four piece puzzle” approach laid everything out for me to be able to make a final decision.Friendliness- All of the staff involved made me feel comfortable and made the process enjoyable. There was a lot of joking around with each other in the building that made for a great environment. You could tell the people that worked there enjoyed what they do which was reflected in their work.Price- Leaving the dealership I felt great but a couple days later I received a phone call about a down-payment I was unaware of. I should have looked over the paperwork closer and this would have never happened but I simply missed it. I truly feel negligence isn’t an excuse for anything but it definitely threw me off guard since I didn’t have the money. Prepared to return the car they once more worked something out to fix my dilemma. Overall Experience- Overall I felt like a valued customer that was taken excellent care of. I will be purchasing from Sterling McCall Hyundai in the future. I don't know about yasuckdick's review, but I gotta tell ya.. I totally DO NOT AGREE... The current vehicle I have, I bought from them.. it was/is my *4th* vehicle from/thru them! Here's my story... Yes my 4th vehicle from them.. They have always taken care of whatever issues were in their power to help with.. which luckily for me have been very few.. considering they are used cars. As far as used car dealers.. Orlando has been a dream.. no embellishment involved in that statement. My situation with them right now is this .. My van has been Repo'd, but not after them giving me 15 months without payments. When my Fiance' came down with Cancer in Feb of 2014, they were nothing but extremely understanding.. they gave me nothing but time. They gave me a call in November last year saying that it has been a long time since I've seen them with a payment. At the time I was in PA working away from home, trying keep the lights on and the rent paid while my Girl was back here (Houston) fighting her cancer. I said that I would see them as soon as I could. I came back and found she was trying not to worry me.. She was not doing as well as she was letting on to me, while being outta town. We went north to NY where she had different Dr/Health care, and family support. Well.. we lost our Chrissy to that retched cancer. I have been lost for months. As I said, these folks were great to me!! But how much can anyone expect from a business. Maybe more contact would've helped .. but as I said .. I have been completely.. 'Completely' lost in myself. If it weren't for a *GREAT*, elderly friend (that I consider as an Uncle) to move from his Apt. home to mine so that I wouldn't lose my Apt., I would've lost everything!!Bottom line... yes, they Repo'd van, but they were soooo patient with me and gae me soooo much time, and yes, I forgot to stay in contact with them... but still... I think these folks are Great!!! !! To Hell !! with yasuckdick's review.If you need a used vehicle.. go see these folks .. they're great people.

Little Shop of Motors
I own a 2010 BMW That I bought new and have always taken my car to the BMW dealer. Well my warranty was up and I had to pay $2600 in October for a repair. At the time I had this done, I knew I would need my brakes repaired soon. Of course, the dealer had given me a quote on future repair work and for the brakes it was $1200!! Well November rolls around and I had to get my brakes done (first time to replace them so they lasted a long time). Well after spending $2600 just last month, I was dreading spending $1200!! Thought about taking my car to Eurocarcare but the reviews were not good! So I called a friend and asked her who did her repairs on her old BMW (she had recently bought a new BMW). She referred me to Edward Morales at Little Shop of Motors. I called Edward on Wednesday, November 9th and he quoted me 1/2 of what the dealership had quoted me!! Not only that, he said the repair would be 2-3 hrs and I could wait for my car. So, I made an appointment for Thursday. Well, I got off early and called Edward back to see if by chance I could bring it by this afternoon rather than the next day. He told me sure, he could do it and have me out in a few hours. Made my way there and arrived about 2:30. I was welcomed when I arrived and the waiting area and shop area was clean. I had a nice cup of Keurig coffee and cookies. I watched movies and the BEST part was the massage chair he has in the waiting area!! OMG!! I felt like I had a personal masseuse at my disposal!! Before I knew it, my car was ready!!!! I was on my way out the door @ 5:30. They did a full inspection (I needed wipers), topped off all fluids and washed my vehicle just like the dealership!! I am super grateful to my friend for referring me. Just wish I had asked her last month when I spent $2600!!! Nevertheless, Edward will be doing all future repairs on my vehicle!!

Royal Collision
My brand new car is currently with Joe at Royal Collision. The entire right side needs repair and re-paint. Right from the start, dealing with Joe has been a pleasure. I explained to him the situation and what was wrong with the car and he said bring it in. First thing he did was take me into the shop to show me the work that he does. There were Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, you name it, back there! He showed me a few almost finished cars and told me what damage they fixed…You would have thought it came right off the dealer lot!Joe is extremely nice and professional. Insurance companies suck, and he knows that, so he deals with them for you. He found some damage to the quarter panel that the insurance estimator did not include in the original estimate. He called and told me he will submit a supplement so that he can get the job done right. I have not even seen my car yet, but I know it will be 100% right. If you have dealt with shops around the area, you know they may not always keep you in the loop. Joe will, like I said, he already called me to tell me he is submitting a supplement.Joe runs a fantastic shop and I am excited to get my car back good as new!!!Royal Collision may not be on your Insurance’s select service shop list, but that doesn’t matter. Insurance will try to tell you that you should take it to one of their shops because if you have any issues with the work done, they will help. HA! Yeah they will help after you spend weeks trying to get someone to agree with you. Well guess what, you won’t have a need to do any of that if you go to Royal Collision!Go to Royal Collision even if you live far away...It will be worth your while!I will be updating this review when I get my car back, but like I said earlier, I know it will be right and that’s all that matters!

Harris County Body Shop
I got involved in a fender bender. I was going to have my car fixed at the dealership where I brought my car, but i was referred to Harris County Body Shop for repairs from Geico. When I arrived, I met the manager Mr. Dan outside working. This is the manager of the shop working! I was greeted by Petra. She really helped me to the point that I knew exactly what I was getting done in a matter of minutes. She even went through a review of all items a person may need from their old car when they are getting a rental. She reminded me several times about my clicker that i needed to get into my home. I didn't forget it. Diane and Diana really were sweet women who knew what they were doing and they made me feel at home. Gilbert really took the cake! He was outside helping me with my car. He was on call to answer all of my questions and He made me feel like that I was his only body shop customer. Robert from Enterprise went and found me a Jeep instead of the small compact car. Erica was really helpful in handling my information. This whole shop needs to be commended on the professionalism, the attention to detail and most of all the crisis management. It's easy to render good customer service when all is well. My weather strip on my door needs to be readjusted. I called and talked to Petra yesterday and she said to bring my car in with the warranty and they will take care of it no problems. I feel like I've known these people all my life. I don't want to have another accident, but if anyone has an accident and they need body work I will definitely refer them to Harris County Body Shop.
Tips & Advices
Depending on the part and its overall quality, a good amount of money can be saved by purchasing aftermarket parts versus OEM parts. But aftermarket parts that are low in price might also be lower in quality and could do more harm than good to your car, or they may need to be replaced more frequently than a more expensive counterpart. This could lead to saving some money in the short term, but spending more than anticipated in the long term.
The type of tires being purchased is the most significant determinant of their price. SUV tires are more costly than average car tires. And high-performance tires are more costly than economy grade tires. On average, standard tires for an average-sized vehicle are around $100 per tire. Standard tires for an SUV are around $150 and pick-up truck tires are about $200 on average. Some dealers offer discounts if purchasing more than one tire.
Car inspections typically take about an hour. However the wait time can be longer depending on how busy the shop is. Call ahead for an appointment to avoid long wait times.
Depending on the manufacturer, certain aftermarket parts can be just as reliable as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. But one item within a vehicle, like oil filters for instance, could have multiple manufacturers and there could be inconsistencies in quality among them.
Costs of replacing a windshield can vary greatly depending on a variety of factors:
  • Vehicle make and model
  • How much of the cost insurance will cover
  • Whether the windshield installers come to your location or you bring the vehicle to them
  • Standard service costs of the windshield installers
Generally, newer and higher-end vehicles cost more to have their windshields replaced because certain manufacturers use modified or proprietary glass types.
