Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
We're living out-of-state right now and our tenants called to say there was a back-up in the sewer. This happened before and I had paid $1200 to another company to get the sewer rodded and jetted with a 3 yr warranty. However, it happened a few more times and they said they wouldn't honor the warranty because our tenants were abusing the sewer system. Now, it was about 5pm on Sat. We saw that Roto-Rooter promised the same rates for late night and weekend calls. They quoted us $400. Nick arrived in a couple of hours. He worked on the sewer and then realized how tough a job it was, and would have to charge hourly, but he kept us informed through texts and calls all along the way. Finally, after a couple hours he hit a back-up in the C&C sewer system, and that is why it kept getting clogged. Hello company I paid $1200!! Where was that info?? I was a little panicked because I had no idea who to call, neither did he. I figured I'd have some research to do. However, after about half an hour, he called back and said he had made some calls to friends and found an emergency number for the City. He got them to our house in about an hour or two and they cleared the blockage. He actually stayed in touch with them and let me know when they had finished the job. He called/texted two more times over the next couple days to make sure the back-up was cleared and didn't affect the plumbing in the house. THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I offered to tip him through Paypal and he refused and said he was just doing his job! What?! Integrity too?? This guy is a SUPERSTAR!! His bosses need to give him a FAT raise! Roto-Rooter has a customer for life! Ask for NIck everyone! He goes the extra mile and on top of that, he's so courteous!

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
I was very disappointed with the service received. Not only did the technicians damage my back wall, but they tried to say it was unforeseen, could not be prevented, and that I would have to pay for the labor to replace it. Also the cracked another piece and did not tell me, when I pointed it out, they said it was old old and could not be prevented. I was told that anything that was damaged would be replaced free of charge. They said I had to pay for labor only. I complained and the labor was removed and was promised that the additional part would be replaced without charge. Unfortunately, I needed to complain in order to have this done. In the end a one day or one and a half day job turnedmout to complete without satisfaction, 4 days later.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
Noa and Jake were terrific!!!We had issues with rattling pipes. Noa was knowledgeable, honest and patient in explaining our options. They were quick to pick up parts and was done with the job within the time expected. BTW, I called other local plumbers (Pipe Masters, Ogami Plumbing etc) but they STILL haven't called me back...it's been 2 days now.Logging on to RR's website to schedule an appt for the following morning was so easy!! A lot better than waiting days for call backs from other plumbers!! Prompt quick service, trustworthy repairmen, flat rate prices and warranties....I have no complaints about Roto Rooter. Highly recommended

Iron Horse Plumbing
Avoid Iron Horse PlumbingI will not use Iron Horse Plumbing again. Thomas, of Iron Horse Plumbing, was hired to install replacement appliances in my 92-year-old father’s condominium. Shortly after Thomas connected the dishwasher, it developed a leak that was not detected until damage appeared in the condominium unit below. Damage to both units was extensive and expensive.Thomas originally agreed to take responsibility for the damage and pay for the repairs. Later, he denied responsibility, refused to pay for the repairs, and threatened court action if he was not paid immediately. I have no trust in a plumber who denies responsibility for leaks in pipe connections that developed soon after he works on them and is so ready to threaten court action.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
Jan 2, 2015, I called for a service on my kitchen sink and was told a plumber will be out between 3 and seven. I made the call at about 1pm. I have been waiting for over 4 hour when I receive a call saying no one can come out until Monday. I find that to be unsatisfactory keeping a customer waiting that long and to be notified at the lst minute. No time to seek out another plumber. Not very professional.

Tips & Advices
The following tools and common household objects can be used to clean drains at home:
  • A plunger
  • A drain snake
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Grease-fighting dish soap
Homeowners can mix boiling water with any of the last three products to break up grease and grime.
The main ingredients in clog removal liquid products are sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. According to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, both break down into relatively harmless components when it comes into contact with water or soil. However, both substances cause mild irritation to skin and internal tissues.
Also known as a drain auger, a drain snake is a coiled device around ¼-inch thick. To use a drain snake, put the end into the entrance of the drain. Turn the handle to force the snake deeper, using extra pressure to force it through the bend in the pipe. Keep turning until the snake hits the clog, then either pull the snake and remove the obstruction or force it through. Once the snake is out of the drain, run the water on full blast for a few minutes to ensure the obstruction is completely removed.
Plungers don't damage residential pipes, but the force created by the act of plunging weakens the seal between the toilet and the floor.
Many plumbers, both local businesses and nationwide chains, offer emergency or same-day services.
