4.Seaside Hotels Hawaii
3660 Waialae Ave Ste 210
At Seaside Hotels (formerly Sand & Seaside Hotels) we believe our gracious hospitality and Aloha spirit will win you over. Once you stay in a Seaside Hotel, we know you'll return again and again. Founded by Hawaiian native Richard Kimi in 1956, Seaside Hotels embodies the spirit of Hawaii; a place where hospitality is at the forefront of an ancient culture. Where the principle and heart of Aloha (love) runs deep. While serving in the Armed Forces during World War II, Richard realized how much the islands of Hawaii meant to him. Even beyond the sun, the sea and its natural beauty, he missed the warmth and the kindness of the Hawaiian people. He believed that Hawaii truly was paradise on earth – and that soon others would believe this as well. It was this belief that led to his dream to build a hotel chain on the islands, so others could share in the wonder of this special place. Returning home following the war, he found work as a general contractor, but held onto his dream of building his hotels. After over a decade of hard work, he eventually was able to build a 30-room hotel in Hilo. Following its success, he enlisted his brothers and Richard's dream grew into a family-owned 1000 room hotel chain. Today, Seaside Hotels is still owned and operated by the same Hawaiian family, providing guests with genuine Hawaiian hospitality, ideal hotel locations and comfortable rooms at a good value. At Seaside Hotels, most employees are of Island descent and all delight in providing a warmhearted island generosity. This is the Aloha spirit of Hawaii. So if your travels bring you to our paradise: "Komo Mai No Ka Hale" (Welcome to Our Home). We truly hope to see you here.

I was there last week for about 4 nights, the hotel was very nice, great location with nice view, nice gift shop if u forget to buy something in the downtown, not expensive,
9.Waikiki Gateway Hotel
2070 Kalakaua Ave
making our way back to waikiki gateway next week. will be our third time in 2 years there. enjoy it every time. it's not beachfront and the ocean view is only good for those with 20/20 x-ray vision. the ""breakfast"" works for people who wake up early enough and who like having sweets. otherwise, just have coffee. you do have to pay for the extra coffee in your room, so get it up there. it's is across the street from Niketown and other expensive stores (beware guys, walk your girl across the street because Tiffany's is on the hotel side). the Ala Moana trolley stops right in front. bus stop for Diamond Head/Haunama Bay also. there is a name brand car rental co. a block down. beach is 7-10mins walking, room to sand. staff is cool. if you want to WASTE your time in hawaii in your room, concerned about more than 4 walls, a roof and running water, the Waikiki Gateway is NOT for you. if you want to lay out on the beach, eat shrimp in north shore, snorkel on the reef, drink mai tai's at happy hour, have a pineapple smoothie at Dole, enjoy a luau, watch the sunset in the middle of the pacific... if you want to ENJOY hawaii, this hotel IS for you.

13.Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort
2005 Kalia Rd
This is a massive resort (good for conferences, business trips, etc), but it's also really nice and I never felt like it was too crowded with people. The location can't be beat ... you're right on Waikiki beach. Stunning.
2199 Kalia Rd
I usually don't like breakfast buffets because the food is usually bland, cold, and has been sitting around for a long time while everyone has already gotten a chance to pick through it. However, this place had hot food, crisp bacon, made-to-order omlettes, fresh waffles and pancakes with real whipped cream, variety of breads and pastries, fresh fruits, drinks, and more! very friendly and attentive staff and a gorgeous view of the ocean and diamond head. The ONLY bad thing is that i only get to come here on special occasions.... ! do NOT miss it...
15.Hale Koa Hotel
2055 Kalia Rd
We love the Hale Koa--- its not ""frilly"" or ""ritzy"" - its just right. You can be yourself and enjoy the hotel. The gym is simple and keeps the excercise routine going. The food is good with quick friendy service. We brought our kids and found that the hotel is kid-friendly, which is awesome. The hotel grounds are upkept and the pool is exceptionally clean. The kids need to break every hour for about 10-15 minutes... while they rest - the adults can reamin swimming. Its a great place to stay while your in Hawaii.......

my girlfriends and I stayed here and we absolutely loved it. The staff was extremely friendly and there was a great beach bar located on the pool deck right next to the beach. The cocktails were one of the highlights of our stay there, aside from the beautiful weather!
18.The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel
2863 Kalakaua Ave
My husband and I were treated to this excellent restaurant for lunch during our recent visit to Honolulu. We loved sitting under the trees; the pink and white decor reminded me of our wedding (my colors) and doves flew about the indoor/outdoor setting. The (Waikiki) beach and sun and blue sky made the afternoon perfect for us--and we especially enjoyed lunch after hiking up Diamond Head that morning. I recommend the ribs--tender and covered with the most delicious honey sauce and Iced Tea with lemon and pineapple...a five star luncheon! The only thing missing were our friends...Allison and Andre...who were back home but treated us to lunch at he Hau Tree Lanai. Mahalo!!
19.Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort
2169 Kalia Rd
We stayed here for 4 nights this past month and really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly, especially the housekeeping. The location is great and we would stay here again if we get a good deal. Everything is small though, the rooms, bathroom, elevator, pool, fitness center...but not unbearably so. They also have hospitality rooms available if late check out is not, which was great since our plane didn't leave till 10 PM.

My friends and I stayed at the Banyan for a week. There was 5 of us and we were all pretty comfortable. The hotel is less than five minutes away from Waikiki Beach. The kitchen was equipped with enough cooking utensils which made it easy to cook meals. The lobby is beautiful and the pool and bbq areas are great.
24.Pacific Marina Inn
2628 Waiwai Loop
The staff and rooms are very Good, BUT BUT BUT when you arrive the next morning to the restaurant and not open until 9:00 A.M. you have the shock of your life to realize the menu is CHINESE FOOD and do not ask for a glass of cold milk because it is not available. The front desk offer free coffee but if you have a restaurant with no breakfast menu then management do not have any idea as to what normal people want when they wake up to this situation. Not only that but there are no restaurant close by to offer breakfast. What a joke and do not recommend this hotel for that reason. It is just hard to believe that management do not want to make a profit because when 200 people show up at the hotel then no body HOME for breakfast!!!!! WOW no further comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. By the way the chinese food is terrible- Hard to believe because I have never eaten BAD Chinese food, did not think there was such a thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
25.Seaside Hawaiian Hostel
419 Seaside Ave
Bed bugs! They have bed bugs. They are not getting rid of them. They just deny that they are there and act as if you made them up. All six people in my dorm were bitten repeatedly, in rows like bed bugs bite. I am terrified that some might have come home with me. I wish someone had told me, I would not have stayed here. It is not worth the stress there, or the stress once you come home and worry about new bites. Also, there seems to be a difference in how the white and non-white staff are treated, which made me uncomfortable and upset.

My friend was staying in the Marriot Hotel, which is where Spada is located. And I was just outside sitting in the grass waiting for her to change to go have dinner at Spada. And two gentelmen came out side one of whom who is named Chris Sanger. According to the front desk at the Marriot. As i was ease dropping, I heard the General manager ask the employee why he was talking to other staff about health Insurance. The employee then said that he is entitled to insurance under the Hawaii state law. Which is over 20 hours I guess. Any way's the manager started to get upset with the employee and told him to go home and he would call him when he is needed. So this poor guy pretty much got fired from his job or suspended for asking for Health Insurance. WOW. This place needs to be better managed. Who know how many corners they cut. How could some one loose their job over benefits that are entitled to them. Especially in the sad state of our economy. And based on this I would never dine with people who behave in that manner. POOR MANAGEMENT AND BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. I feel so sorry for the guy who is out of a job. Or who might be blackmailed with his job in hopes of silencing him for benefits that he is supposed to be given.
27.Hokele Suites Waikiki
412 Lewers St
Do not stay here it's not worth the money. I paid over $600 to be promised a room with two beds and a parking stall as the front desk promised..when we got up to our room it wasn't clean and it wasn't what they show in pictures. Also, when we came back to the place there was no parking and they charge $25 a day. So I paid $125 to park along the wall of the entrance to the parking area which I wanna say has only 10 stalls!! And mind you there 5 floors to this stupid place ..and I witnessed two families checking in the night before and leaving for the same reason. I highly recommend that you pay that extra $$ to go elsewhere!!! It'll save you time and money.
2426 Kuhio Ave
We chose this hotel as it was the cheapest package to stay in Hawaii for 9 days. I think I would have opted to pay extra for a better hotel. Our stay here progressively got worse.\r \r First off, the sign on the building says ""Continental Surf,"" instead of ""Aqua Continental."" We were confused, but our taxi driver assured us it was the correct hotel.\r \r The room we had on the 14th floor was much smaller than I imagined, but it wasn't horrible since we didn't really plan on staying in the room that much (come on, we were in Hawaii!). The first thing that I noticed, though, was a strange smell in the room. The bathroom especially smelled of old cigarette butts. That was mostly remedied by a trip to one of the many ABC Stores and getting a spray air-freshener.\r \r The room had a microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. All were plugged into a power strip, but the cords were too short so the power strip was dangerously suspended in the air behind the very hot coils of the fridge. The placement of the other outlets didn't make much sense to us either. If you like to use your cell phone as your alarm but need to charge it at the same time, you won't have an outlet near the nightstand between the beds.\r \r Now, I'd say I have a good amount of experience taking showers, but for the life of me I could not figure out how to shower in that tub without getting water all over the place. The sad excuse they had for a shower curtain kept billowing inward (if I kept the end of the curtain on the inside of the tub like it's supposed to be), so I would end up with the shower curtain plastered to my body as I tried to wash off. I tried lining up the bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotion we had but they weren't heavy enough to anchor the curtain well enough. Obviously, having the end of the curtain on the outside of the tub kept it from attacking me during a shower, but then it left me stepping out into a flood. I ended up washing my swim suit in the shower and laying it over the curtain to hold it down. If I had a towel to spare, I probably would've done that the whole time.\r \r There were times when we didn't care to have room service come in, so we didn't have them clean our room every day. However, when they did come in to clean, nothing really ever got clean. Big indicator of this was we accidentally spilled some coffee grounds on the floor. After room service was done, there were still coffee grounds on the floor.\r \r Every time a maid saw me, she would ask if I was checking out that day. It made me feel like they really wanted me to leave, so I didn't feel very much like a guest.\r \r We were there long enough to want to use their laundry room. For those of you that are thinking about it, make for darn sure that you have plenty of quarters and only quarters. There is no change machine in the laundry room. The laundry room is on the 6th floor, so you'd have to go all the way down to the front desk to ask for change (if necessary), and that's assuming they'll give you all the change you actually need. They seemed reluctant to give me any more than $2 change, when I needed something more like $4. It's really the lady that works the desk at night that's frustrating. I didn't catch her name.\r \r There's a little notice that tells you that there can frequently be unwanted guests in your room, meaning little buggies. We sure got those, but they were small enough and not frequent enough for us to care too much. Also heard that little pests in rooms can be quite common in Hawaii, so we just spent more time outdoors than worrying about what could be in our room.\r \r Finally, some upsides to this place:\r * Suki, whom you'll meet during the day, is very nice and very helpful.\r * Their shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion all smell very nice.\r * Just about 2 blocks to the beach, which is awesome and all, but not awesome enough for me to add any more stars to my rating.
