The Movers Group, Inc.
This was my first time hiring movers and I was not disappointed with The Movers Group. They were extremely professional and thorough. I spoke to Henry on the phone and he gave me the most competitive price. On the day of the move, two movers showed up with a very large truck on time. They provide 2 wardrobe boxes for free, which was just enough for all of my clothes. They carefully wrapped my furniture & fragile pieces with plastic wrap and cardboard boxes if needed. I was amazed at how quickly they were able to haul my boxes to the truck and secure them safely using straps, etc. in the truck. I think they wanted to speed things up and asked another mover to join in mid-morning (which I of course didn't mind). They efficiently unloaded the truck at my new apartment, set up my bed and dining table without being asked, and asked me where the pieces of furniture should be placed. All in all, they were fantastic. I highly recommend them!

Murphy Beds & Mechanism
The staff are people who really want to please their customers. They are pleasant and spend time listening to your concerns. Their showroom is not fabulous, however, it is filled with examples of their work, especially Murphy Beds. We purchased our Murphy Bed from them and it was custom made for the space where it resides. We are very pleased with the look and function of our unit. It gives us book shelves, storage, and they hide the bed. They remodelled our kitchen and made custom cabinets which fit perfectly in the space available. We had them make custom dressers, a desk, file cabinets for our bedrooms and office space and they are working out just fine for our needs. Whenever you remodel, you run into difficult problems with condo rules and the like. These people did their best to work within the rules of the condo. We certainly have recommended them to friends and would us their service again.

Smart Van Lines
I was very pleased with the recent move with Smart van lines. We moved from an old townhouse to a new bigger one so the amount of things to move was not overwhelming but they are bulky including a piano. The crew showed up early, proceeded to assess the requirement and got to work promptly. They were efficient, careful, and very mindful of the furniture. The same kind of attention was provided unloading the furniture into the new townhouse. Throughout the process they were very efficient as if to realize the customer is paying by the hour, and very pleasant. The process was painless and as pleasant as possible given the move situation which always creates stress. Their manager called two times during the moving day to ensure all was on track and met expectations. I'd recommend them to all.

These guys are awesome. no complaints here. they are professional, affordable and speedy. what more could you want in a moving company? I'm kind of fussy and i called a few companies and gave them all the same list of furniture items/boxes and these guys said they could do it in the least amount of time with a reasonable rate with 3 guys. (3-4 hours at $180/hr - another company estimated 6-7 hrs at $195/hr) they showed up on time and were almost super human in the way they went at it. these guys literally picked up dressers on their backs and just boogied up and down our stairs over and over again. the move took exactly the time that Henry estimated (the very nice guy i spoke with on the phone to get a quote) and we had even more stuff than i had anticipated. highly recommend.

Aragon Movers
I planed my move to Canada 6 months ago, I had 2 companies that came to my house for an estimate. All other 3 offered a quote over the phone, a couple of the were located out of FL so they couldn't do it and I decided not to deal with them. Ely and Jo came out took all the information and explained how it works. I was very comfortable and the same evening I got the quote, it was very detailed and clear. On the move date they showed up on time packed very neatly and was very cautious with my stuff, they helped me with all the papers and forms for custom clearance I received my goods 2 weeks after as promised and I am very happy!!! I will defiantly recommend Aragon movers!

Smart Van Lines
I really liked the service I got! I had a problem not knowing which company to choose, but then my sister recommended me these guys and I am more than happy. Their team came on time to my place and wrapped everything nicely and carefully. I saw how professional they were. I was really glad I hired them. These guys were super nice, friendly and courteous. I even packed some of my plates in the box but in a very loose way, so these guys fixed it and they did not let anything get damaged or broken. I really appreciated that. The quote was excellent, very reasonable in comparison to other companies. I would highly recommend Smart van lines to everyone! Absolutely great!

The Movers Group, Inc.
I used The Movers Group for my move from Hallandale to Miami, and they were great. I had grossly underestimated the amount of stuff I had to the guy on the phone. So a three-person, four-hour job turned into a four-person, ten-hour job. But they took it in stride with the characteristic humor that I have come to demand of anyone who moves my stuff. Henry and his team were super nice. They had this way of moving boxes on their backs that was very impressive. They were super efficient, nice, didn't break anything, and only dinged one wall on the way down the stairway. Really excellent service at a reasonable price.

Smart Van Lines
Smart van lines moved my belongings with great precision at a very reasonable cost. My primary reason for hiring them was their quote. I’m happy to report that they didn’t cross that estimate in the final bill. I have heard stories about inefficient movers but these movers were nothing like them. They were prompt, skilled and always ready to help. They really had my best interest at heart. The quality of their work is top notch. The delivery was made on time, even during a torrential rainfall. I just don’t have words to say how grateful I am to these men.

Okay, so I had to move from Hollywood to Fort Lauderdale. So I hired The Movers Group for the move advance. The three-man crew was delayed by a few hours because their previous client was not quite honest about how much stuff they had. BUT... the folks at the First van lines office kept me informed of the situation. Finally they arrived and they loaded up my stuff in just 50 minutes. These guys were friendly and knew their work thoroughly executing it professionally. All in all, I can say is they made my move easier, and was worth every cent.

Smart Van Lines
The movers from Smart van lines, who helped me with my last move, were punctual and extremely dedicated. They maintained their schedule and worked very hard. I always received a timely manner. They were on time and told me they would finish their work within 11 AM- and they did. The entire process went smoothly. I didn't expect this type of service. They were just too incredible. They exceeded all my expectations. They also charged a very decent amount for the incredible service. I will surely hire them again.
Tips & Advices
Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
