An additional response to Kenneth H.: As I previously replied: You have a 24 month, 24,000 mile warranty on anything that is on your original invoice. If you were not happy you could have asked us to recheck the vehicle at any time since the original work was done. You still seem very upset with the situation but you have not responded to any efforts to rectify the problem. Stop by the shop and we can get this situation resolved to your satisfaction. You are already a year into your warranty. Garvin Wray, Wray's Auto ServiceThis is in response to Kenneth H. The truth is: the customer's car, a Jaguar, received new tires, new struts, new brakes, a new radiator, valve cover gaskets, and other items in March, 2014. First, the wiring harness was replaced with a new original manufacturer's part at no cost to the customer and its failure was due to a parts issue, not a workmanship issue. Second, the customer declined replacement of a cracked composite valve cover due to its cost so the valve cover was repaired with an adhesive which was not our preferred procedure. Third, we were called about a possible additional coolant leak and the customer did not show for the appointment. All of our work is covered by a nationwide, 2 year, 24,000 mile parts and labor warranty. If any item listed on the original invoice has failed, it is still under warranty. We pride ourselves on customer service and are very disappointed that the customer did not approach us with his concerns. From Garvin Wray, Wray's Auto Service

I have been taking all three of my vehicles to Mark and Renata at RPM Auto Repair for many years now and I must say I couldn't be happier with their services. They always greet me with a smile, explain to me in simple terms what the problem is, and what my choices are to resolve them. There has been many times I have thought I needed a repair and was expecting and willing to pay the price to fix it, however after Mark did his diagnostics, he determined the repair wasn't needed and in many cases was just a simple fix. They could have easily charged me and I wouldn't have know the difference, however their honesty and integrity wouldn't allow that. It's easy to find a qualifed repair shop, however it's a different story to find one that you trust. I have found that trustworthy shop with RPM and have referred my family, friends and coworkers. All of which have thanked me for referring RPM to them as well. THANK YOU RPM for being upfront and honest. It's no wonder why you have so many repeat customers.

Five Star Automotive & Tire Center
As a single female I dread taking my car in for repairs, because I know I'm an easy target for dishonest mechanics and there are plenty of them out there. So when I was referred to George and Five Star Auto, I was happy to hear that he could be trusted. I'm pleased to report that he checked out my car issues, told me I didn't need anything done for one area (saved me money) and did my oil change. He presented my bill which was about $5 less than I anticipated and that I had paid at another place. Another time, I had to take my car in for a brake light, without an appointment. He did not have the part needed so his assistant ran out to get it. The repair was done in about an hour and when he presented the bill it had some odd change due and he rounded it DOWN. When does that ever happen. I totally trust George and his staff and I highly recommend him to all my girlfriends and family. Thanks George for being there for me.

Goodyear Leone Auto & Tire
Leone's is my new and now only place my car and I want to go for oil, tires, windshield wiper blades and anything else my car may need. Their showroom is clean and the owner is right there up front and ready to answer any questions in a courteous, friendly, and non-threatening way. No pressure here and he will tell you like it is. I appreciate that. I have all the confidence "it" will be done right and in a timely fashion. Good work to all at Leone's. You are all very professional and trustworthy. My money was well spent.

I have been using RPM Auto Repair in Holiday, Florida for a while now. What I really like about them is their honest --- in my opinion, great service is not just about what someone does for you -- but what they DONT do as well. They could have easily charged more money to fix a problem I was having with my Jeep (I would have paid it) - instead, they identified work that was actually covered under my warranty AND DID NOT CHARGE ME for their time. Unparalleled service -- Thank you RPM Auto Repair!

Titan Auto Repair
We were sold a 2005 Chrysler T&C by a small dealer in Brandon...a week later found out the engine needed to be replaced! We took the car to at least 5 different shops including the dealer...Tony at Titan Auto Repair was recommended by a friend...he rebuilt the engine for almost half and in some cases 1/4 price of other quotes! The van is now running great! Also replaced a starter on my daughter's car for a very reasonable price. He is fair, honest and will work with you on price.

Always take my cars to Wrays auto service only. They do quality work at reasonable prices. Fair and honest is hard to find in the service industry but you get that with Wrays auto service. I have a Pontiac Gto, Infiniti, Mustang GT and Grand Prix and Garvin and his son have always fixed my car as if it was one of their own. This is the place to go ignore that one negative review. That's a car brand issue not workmanship issue.

Jerry's Auto Service
Love these guys! As Snowbirds, we have come to Jerry's every year for the last 25 years for a check-up before heading north. Just don't let them top up your windshield wiper fluid with that Florida stuff. Scared the daylights out of me when it froze instantly on hitting the windshield as we drove through MI in January.

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
