Big Town Hero continues to use the HERO name to portray the fact that its sandwiches are constructed on bread handcrafted daily in their in-store bakeries with fresh, innovative ingredients and served in a cafe style setting by franchise owners who take pride in their businesses and have developed personal relationships with the customers A lot of other sub shops claim to bake their own bread. They may bake it but, most of them don't make it. It is shipped across the country frozen and ready to be proofed and browned. Our customers tell us that they can really taste the difference. We make our bread the old fashioned way. Our bakers get up before the crack of dawn so they can be at our stores to bake bread for you. They mix it up from scratch; flour, sugar, yeast, and more. They roll it out by hand so they can get it just right; then comes the fun part...baking it (If you didn't eat breakfast, this is also the hardest part; there's nothing like the aroma of fresh baked bread to bring out your appetite!). Our dedication to bringing you the freshest, best tasting bread is one of the things that make Big Town Hero a truly exceptional sandwich experience. And besides that, it's kind of fun. Because we care about the Quality of Our Food: We make our sub rolls, from scratch, right in our kitchen every morning. We never use "day old" bread. We choose the very best, evenly cooked meats available. Our standards are among the highest in the industry. Produce and garnishes are purchased daily and from local sources whenever possible. Be the hero of the party! We can cater groups of any size for office lunches, parties or graduations. You name it we can do it!

We visited for the first time on Saturday afternoon after the farmers market and we surprised and delighted by this great little Japanese restaurant in downtown. We were greeted with a complimentary bowl of miso soup and a small salad with a tasty garlic peanut dressing before ordering. We got 4 different kinds of rolls and it was the best sushi we have ever had hands down. The fish tasted very fresh and the salmon was a beautiful deep color. This of course comes at a premium price (specialty rolls are $16 for 8 pieces, non specialty rolls ranged from $5-$12) but with the miso and salad we could have ordered one less roll to save money and not had leftovers. We ate outside and enjoyed the tranquil garden setting with fountains. We even saw a hummingbird and then a sparrow stop by to drink from the fountain and take little baths. We will absolutely be returning with our high end sushi loving friends or for future date nights.

We stopped by with 8 people this evening and they were very busy, but got us seated promptly. We all ordered something different and everything was excellent. The onion rings are killer. If you haven't tried them yet, it's a must have! Our waiter was GRANT ...... He was outstanding as usual. Hope that they are paying him enough to keep him there.

I was very impressed with the food, large menu, and price when I had lunch here recently. Apparently others share my viewpoint, as there was a large line waiting to get in around noon. \r \r Looking forward to going back and trying other items besides the pho, which was very good. I'd recommend going for lunch around 11am or soon afterward so you can grab a seat and not wait in line.

I had a lunch date with a great guy (my husband :); he'd heard about this place from some friends who love Mexican food as much we do. We went around 1.15 on a Wednesday; thankfully, the lunch crowd had cleared out and only 2 or 3 of the 6 tables were in use. To start with, the service is great. The staff welcomes you graciously and is quick to get chips & drinks. The chips were OK - I need to salt them - but the two salsas that came with were fabulous. I like my salsas chunky & hot, my husband likes his smooth & mild; we got a little bowl of each, without even asking. I had a ""Sunburn"" (Suava, triple sec & cranberry juice), which was delicious. I ordered a small ($6), and it was the size of most medium to large margaritas at other Mexican restaurants. We couldn't decide on what to order, so we opted to share, ordering two fajitas ($9.99) - one pork, one steak - and a taco salad with grilled chicken. The waiter asked if we'd be splitting and brought us two plates to go with our salad. We dug into the salad and were pleasantly surprised - the chicken strips were tender and juicy, and the bottom of the taco bowl was smeared with fabulous refried beans. I don't like guac with onions, so they brought a dish full of the fixings - pico de gallo, guac, sour cream and shredded Mexican cheese. This was nice, as we could ""dress"" our salad. My husband said the taco bowl was a bit too heavy on the grease and didn't eat more than a bite. The waiter came to our table to refill water and, seeing that we were mostly through with the salad, asked if we were ready for fajitas. They came about 5 minutes later, sizzling and beautiful. The steak was cooked to perfection - not too done, not too rare - and the carnitas.... oh the carnitas. We also got our own plates of fixings - a bowl of delicious pinto beans, yummy rice, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and cheese. The corn tortillas were also perfectly steamed, not pan-fried and left to dry. We walked out of the restaurant with two boxes of food, a bill of less than $35 - and stupid grins. Best date lunch I've had, & we're planning for many more in months to come.

I would like to first state that I think Thai Orchid was ran by different management at the time of the last review. My boyfriend and I have been eating there regularly (2-3 times a month) for the past year. The soup is always served freshly made, vegetables are always fresh and the service is very pleasant. The gentleman who typically seats people is always a delight and friendly, he always asks about my mother and inquires on when she may return for lunch; which i find to be nice even if it is a sale tactic. It can take a bit of time for certain items to get to the table, such as the soup as I have mentioned it is made fresh. I have yet to have a nasty soggy old vegetable and I have yet to have horrible service.

Being south of Hillsboro is no big deal for us as we like the drive. For us, finding somewhere that understands celiac and gluten intolerance was huge! Buns from Laurel's Sweet Treats (all gluten free) mean that those who have gluten problems have a way to eat a very good burger, while regular buns take care of the rest of us...but you cannot tell you're eating gluten free...they are delicious!\r \r The decor and music really make you feel as if you are back in the 1950s and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This is the only place we go for burgers now...ah, and the pulled pork is great too!

You are not going to believe how good this place is! Not only is the sushi super fresh and expertly prepared, but it is reasonably priced, too! Probably the best unagi I've ever had. Sometimes the fish is so good I just get a huge smile while eating. For a real treat, request the omakaze sushi or maki at dinner, and the chef will prepare something extra special for you.\r \r The menu has lots of variety, but everything is done so well. The udon noodles are also probably the best I've ever had. Sometimes a larger menu means problems with execution, but I have yet to have even a mediocre meal here.\r \r The staff is super friendly, and there always seems to be just the right number of waitstaff and chefs to get things done efficiently. The restaurant is on the small side (probably seats about 35), but any waiting for tables is the result of happy diners eating more food, and not from a slow kitchen or inexperienced servers.\r \r The express lunch is probably the best deal in Washington County. Not only are there four nice options (my favorite is the spicy chicken--it really is spicy!), it gets to you in 5 minutes or less, comes with miso, salad, and 4 piece California roll, and is under $7! They can't be making a profit on it (so order a beverage to go with it), but it runs only from 11am-12noon.\r \r There is also a long sake list to match your food, and the staff will politely steer you in the right direction if you need help. Sake with dinner is quite nice. Even the ""house sake"" is several steps above most.\r \r I had hoped for years that Orenco Station would get a really good Japanese restaurant, and my wish finally came true! I've eaten here dozens of times, and I can honestly report that this is a great addition to the Hillsboro dining scene.

This is one of my favorite places to get hot wings. I LOVE hot wings, and they know how to do them right! They are smaller than ""usual"" hot wings, but that is good becuase it means they are not really fatty and hard to get off the bone, like most ""usual"" ones. They are really tender and you can choose from so many different flavors! I like the mango habanero the best...it is sweet and really spicy! They also have a large beer selection to wash it down and TONS of TVs! Great place to watch sports! My favorite side are the buffalo chips dipped in blue cheese! SO GOOD! \r \r Glad they are downtown now!

The couple that own and operate Tengoku are the sweetest, most gracious people you will meet. And their sushi is phenomenal, very authentic. They make their sushi to order and I have never had to wait more than ten minutes. My food is usually ready within five minutes of sitting down. I have recommended Tengoku to every sushi fanatic I know. The service is great, food is excellent, and the price is VERY affordable. Unfortunately they are only open weekdays, but if you get a chance to drop by on your lunch break you WILL NOT be disappointed.

Swagat's lunch buffet rules! It's always plentiful and varied. I've eaten at the one in Beaverton and the one in Northwest Portland. They're both good, but I think the one in Beaverton is spicier... and I like spicy! There's always a great selection of meat and vegetarian dishes as well as salad and dessert. I'm just sad they don't make the doughnut things for lunch buffet anymore... but the rice pudding is a nice finish.
