The worst experience I have ever had dealing with any type of dealer!! They are not easy to work with. They will not respond to your phone calls or emails. Erick was the sales person and Cam was the finance person. After repeated phone calls and not giving them my name I finally got Erick on the phone only to be told the motorcycle was sold out from underneath me!! I would not recommend selling or buying through CarLotz!!

Car Lotz
I love my new Lexus SUV! It is the car of my dreams that I never thought I could afford. Thank you Allison for helping me find this loan I did not believe it with my credit. Everyone I met at this dealership was so nice and helpful and now I have my dream car. Buy from CarLotz and I can assure you will love the experience like I did.

Car Lotz
I am quite dissatisfied with my recent experience as a “seller” at Carlotz, which is a shame because Carlotz has a strong marketing proposition at its core, but they do not execute. It took weeks and several requests from two different locations for me to receive (via email!) the required paperwork needed for Carlotz to actually sell our vehicle. They charged their listing fee twice (they did refund the second charge weeks later after we found the error). Carlotz’ inspection and cleaning process is laughable and wouldn’t impress me as a buyer; so I got each completed professionally shortly after listing and seeing the results of their work. “Professional photographs” is a gross exaggeration and had to be completed a few times to get right. The price Carlotz recommended we list our vehicle was very overstated and not supported by the local market (revealed by independent research). Carlotz estimated a 30 to 45-day (max) sell. While I understand Carlotz cannot look into the future with their crystal ball, another identical YMM, with fewer miles, has been sitting on their lot for ten months (it is still available at the time of this review). A distinct disadvantage of Carlotz staff vs. those as traditional/ professional dealerships is that Carlotz staff doesn’t seem to know anything about any of their inventory nor do they even ask for the sale much less keep their “sellers” informed on their progress, interested parties or market changes without being prompted. Carlotz states that your vehicle will be marketed on Craig’s List, Twitter and Facebook; this is false. As a businessman myself, I see and respect the value and innovation of Carlotz’s business model, but at the end of the day, I found it to be all fluff. Fancy graphs that show what’s listed, not what’s being sold (which is what matters to “sellers”). I was able to get more trading my vehicle into CarMax than Carlotz could get for me after four months on the market (incl. their commission). Perhaps I micromanaged Carlotz, but their lack of organizations, ability, and later credibility, certainly didn’t exude confidence in me from the beginning. The car was traded last week, but I do not recommend Carlotz regardless whether you are a buyer or seller. Work with a reputable company or brand dealership instead.

East End Auto Sales
Typical sleazy independent used car dealers. DO NOT buy anything from them. I made the mistake of buying a vehicle from them and found out they concealed the fact that the air bags had previously been deployed. If you try to get any help form them all you will get is the run around and promise of a call back from owner that never happens. If you go by the place the person you need to see will never be there. Save yourself the headache and buy form a legitimate car dealer not these guys.

Crown Acura Richmond
These guys are great to work with! I was in Richmond on business from northern Virginia where I had recently walked away from a nice Mini because of poor customer service. They showed me around and made an effort to find what I was looking for. I purchased a Cooper S and they even delivered it to me!!

Crown Acura Richmond
I purchased my certified mini through the internet. Everything handled by e-mail, and a few phone conversations at the end. They even delivered the mini to me about 3 hours away. Great experience, and I will shop with them again. My mini looks great, and best of all, certified if I have a problem down the road.

Crown BMW
What a great service experience from Alan Bettley and his crew! My indy shop could not fix the clutch and transmission issue on my E30 Convertible. I went to Alan and asked for help. Alan got my car in the shop very quickly. They kept it there, communicating with me every step of the way. They would not let it go until it was as perfect as an older BMW can be. It was fabulous when I picked it up last weekend! I braced myself for what I thought would be a 4 figure bill. Alan was incredibly fair and it was under 4 figures and the work was better than what my indy shop can do. Folks, sometimes it's just best to TAKE YOUR BMW TO THE DEALER. This was my first service experience at Richmond BMW West Broad. I'll be back for more, thanks to Alan Bettley!

Crown Acura Richmond
Crown Acura was awesome! Highly recommend! Being new to the Richmond area, my wife and I had been taking our Honda Accord to the Honda dealership down the street. After registering our vehicle, we took it to “our Honda dealership” to get the state inspection done. We were told that they were “to busy”, because they give free inspections to customers who purchased their vehicles from them, we would need to make an appointment. I’m not sure that it’s legal to deny a state inspection, but we clearly received the message that we were not valued customers. After leaving there for good, we gave Crown Acura a call and spoke with Mike in the service department. He was amazing! He told us to come right in and he’d take care of us. We were warmly welcomed, and he treated us respectfully and professionally throughout our visit. He had our inspection completed and we were quickly back on the road. Great service, great experience and great people! Crown Acura has earned our business and they are now “our dealership”! Thank you.
Tips & Advices
Depending on the part and its overall quality, a good amount of money can be saved by purchasing aftermarket parts versus OEM parts. But aftermarket parts that are low in price might also be lower in quality and could do more harm than good to your car, or they may need to be replaced more frequently than a more expensive counterpart. This could lead to saving some money in the short term, but spending more than anticipated in the long term.
The type of tires being purchased is the most significant determinant of their price. SUV tires are more costly than average car tires. And high-performance tires are more costly than economy grade tires. On average, standard tires for an average-sized vehicle are around $100 per tire. Standard tires for an SUV are around $150 and pick-up truck tires are about $200 on average. Some dealers offer discounts if purchasing more than one tire.
Car inspections typically take about an hour. However the wait time can be longer depending on how busy the shop is. Call ahead for an appointment to avoid long wait times.
Depending on the manufacturer, certain aftermarket parts can be just as reliable as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. But one item within a vehicle, like oil filters for instance, could have multiple manufacturers and there could be inconsistencies in quality among them.
Costs of replacing a windshield can vary greatly depending on a variety of factors:
  • Vehicle make and model
  • How much of the cost insurance will cover
  • Whether the windshield installers come to your location or you bring the vehicle to them
  • Standard service costs of the windshield installers
Generally, newer and higher-end vehicles cost more to have their windshields replaced because certain manufacturers use modified or proprietary glass types.
