I took my truck there to have the battery tested because it had to be jumped off in order to start. The kid who tested it told me the battery was fine and that I probably needed an alternator. I didn't believe him. I took the truck to my mechanic where I was told the cells in my battery were all dried out and any car savvy person should have been able to tell that the battery was toast. The kid at AutoZone told me wrong maybe because his machine was broken, maybe because he's lazy and didnt want to install a new battery in my truck, maybe because he wanted to sell me a more expensive alternator, maybe because he doesnt know what he's doing, I don't know but what should have been a simple $90 battery replacement ended up costing $185 at the mechanic for an expensive interstate battery and running diagnostics on my alternator because the kid at AutoZone doesn't know what a toasted battery looks or smells like. The reason I don't give them one star is because the guy who did a price check for me was polite.

We received excellent service, Jose went above and beyond what was required, he fixed a 2010 vw jetta that the dealer couldn't repair, the dealer charged us $1600.00 but the car's brakes still locked up 1 mile from the dealership, they refused to help, they wanted $3100 more to fix it, one of the parts they wanted to replace Jose found was not in need of replacement, The dealer kept a part from the car we had replaced 1 week before taking it to them , Jose even went to the dealer with us to retrieve the part, ( no other mechanic would do this) He worked on this car for hours until it was fixed, the price he charged was so much cheaper than anyone would have charged, He is honest, this is something that is hard to find when dealing with mechanics, My family has also taken cars to him, I would not go anywhere else for car repairs, I recommend him to anyone

Shade Trees Automotive
All I can say is "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!" This is a family owned and operated business and they are nothing less than phenomenal! I took my car without knowing much about them other than a good review from another online source and I am SO GLAD I did!. First, they gave me an HONEST estimate on my car (no charge)- thier prices compared to 3 other garages in Hendersonville. Second, Theresa, her brother Jerry, and son David were all just the nicest and most accomidating people ever!. They completed the work in the most expedient tme possible, fair pricing, and just are just overall-"good people"-something very hard to come by in this trade. They even lent me a personal vehicle when my repairs took longer than initailly anticipated. Would I recommend Shade Trees DIY Auto to anyone.... YES, YES, YES!

Auto Superior is the best! It's real hard these days to find an honest mechanic much less an auto repair shop's owner get his hands dirty. I could not pass emissions and his place not only helped me to pass but were super economical! Every where else wanted to charge me $800 to fix my car, but not Auto Superior, they did it for less than $100 and they were honest enough to fix what was wrong without trying to hustle me!

My family and I are regular customers of Jose. When I first bought my Infinity, no one in Hendersonville would work on it. Then I found Jose and wow! What a job he did on it. He's very reasonable and wants to find the REAL problem, not just replace parts until he finds the right one. I highly recommend him. He's a down to earth guy - but has become one of our greatest friends.

Honest and a fair price. My repair came in $50 under estimate. My son's car was checked by mechanics at Auto Service Center and told that nothing needed to be repaired although another garage had told him that $500 worth of work needed to be done. Sammy sold the shop to David, but the same good and honest work is still being done there.

Tips & Advices
Depending on the part and its overall quality, a good amount of money can be saved by purchasing aftermarket parts versus OEM parts. But aftermarket parts that are low in price might also be lower in quality and could do more harm than good to your car, or they may need to be replaced more frequently than a more expensive counterpart. This could lead to saving some money in the short term, but spending more than anticipated in the long term.
The type of tires being purchased is the most significant determinant of their price. SUV tires are more costly than average car tires. And high-performance tires are more costly than economy grade tires. On average, standard tires for an average-sized vehicle are around $100 per tire. Standard tires for an SUV are around $150 and pick-up truck tires are about $200 on average. Some dealers offer discounts if purchasing more than one tire.
Car inspections typically take about an hour. However the wait time can be longer depending on how busy the shop is. Call ahead for an appointment to avoid long wait times.
Depending on the manufacturer, certain aftermarket parts can be just as reliable as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. But one item within a vehicle, like oil filters for instance, could have multiple manufacturers and there could be inconsistencies in quality among them.
Costs of replacing a windshield can vary greatly depending on a variety of factors:
  • Vehicle make and model
  • How much of the cost insurance will cover
  • Whether the windshield installers come to your location or you bring the vehicle to them
  • Standard service costs of the windshield installers
Generally, newer and higher-end vehicles cost more to have their windshields replaced because certain manufacturers use modified or proprietary glass types.
