Dr. Santos H Yu, MD
Dr. Yu and his staff are very nice and the office is run very professionally. Like many doctors, he tends to run late and, unfortunately, sometimes extremely late; I've waited longer than an hour for my appointment. My only complaint about Dr. Yu is that he doesn't listen as well as I'd like and seems to want to concentrate on one problem/symptom without being willing to, I don't know, believe maybe, that it's part of a fairly complex issue. It's frustrating when you have a long history of multiple issues that have previously been treated as interconnected and Dr. Yu treats them separate and distinct from each other. For example, I have migraines and a bad neck and back. The migraines got worse after a minor fender bender and I thought it was probably due to my neck but Dr. Yu only wanted to deal with the migraines with the usual medication I've always taken. When I returned with a complaint about pain in my arms he decided that it was an impinged nerve in my elbow and continued to dismiss my concerns that it was my neck. I'm still trying to get Dr. Yu deal with my neck after 10 months (but to be fair I haven't been as aggressive in getting him focused on my neck as I could have been).Otherwise, I think Dr. Yu is as competent as any neurologist as I've ever had treat me.

Dr. Ryan J Grabow, MD
Dr. Grabow is awesome. I have needed his services on 2 occasions (broken wrist both times). He has a nifty x-ray machine in office and can tell immediately what the issue is. He cast the first break right then and there and I never had any residual issues. The 2nd break was much more complicated and required surgery (a plate and 7 screws) and extensive therapy. He explained to me in the recovery room that once he opened up the wrist & began the repair, he realized it was not going to produce the results he wanted, so he changed his procedure and took a different approach. I appreciated this information - had he chosen to just stay with his original plan - my wrist would probably not be as good as it is today. I can barely see what was once a 3 1/2" incision and there is nothing I can't do today - I lost a bit of grip strength in that hand and it is a bit stiff after a game of golf; but I'm 65 and have some joint stiffness in the right hand too, so they are about equal despite the left wrist being the "bad" one. Dr. Grabow is personable and pleasant and caring - I would recommend him highly.

Kastrup, John J, MD
In my experience I have found Dr Kastrup to be a gifted and proficiaent surgeon as well as a kind and personable man. My dealings with his staff have been professional, compassionate and efficient. I could not have found a better team of caring people to help me with my crippling pain and immobility. I am 55 years old and have been suffering with degenerative hip disease for the last 6 years. My wife and I like so many people in this economy had found ourselves without health insurance for nearly 5 years. By the time that we were able to get insurance and address my hip pain (which had gotten so bad that I was barely able to walk or stand) I fortuitously landed in Dr Kastup's office broken down and in need of prompt, carefully metered treatment. I was recommended to have both of my hips replaced and within 5 weeks from my initial consult I was able to have my right hip replaced. The procedure was flawless and my recovery has been fantastic. I'm looking forward to Hip #2 :)

Kastrup, John J, MD
It was my first time to see ortho doctor here in Henderson,NV. We have lived here now for 3 years, retired. I saw Dr Kastrup once and he knew just from an xray I needed a total knee replacement. I was so pleased because I have lived with bone on bone pain for over a year and I was very happy when he said he would do total knee. It was scheduled very quickly and Dr Kastrup was very polite and pleasant and the staff in the office were great. The hospital I was in was wonderful and the staff in the hospital were great and quick to respond to help buzzer. I was surprised to get out of the hospital so quick and went to outpatient therapy. I went to see Dr Kastrup at 5weeks post op and he said I was doing great walking and bending. I can't say enough good things about DrKastrup and his staff, all were wonderful and very helpful.

Dr. Ryan J Grabow, MD
I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. Not knowing what to expect, Dr. Grabow and his staff were very thorough at what to expect and what the outcome would be. Of course, everyone heals differently and especially being an older person, I feel that the surgery went extremely well. Both surgeries were done within six months of each other and I am doing great. His surgical method is the most current and least invasive. After the first surgery I was apprehensive about the healing process but his staff was always very helpful and got me through it. I'm feeling great now that I'm able to do all the things I did before without numbness and tingling. It's great to feel normal again!

Dr. Ryan J Grabow, MD
My husband has had Dupuytrens contracture for more than 20 years, Dr Grabow changed this in one day, well, 2 days actually as he had one hand done one day and the other hand the next day. We waited approximately 15 minutes to see the doctor, we used that time to fill out the forms. We found Dr Grabow to be professional, knowledgeable, and personable. He told us the various treatments for Dupuytrens and asked if we had any questions, we never felt rushed. My husband chose to have the needle release and the results are truly amazing, his ring fingers are now straight. We would highly recommend Dr Grabow, it was obvious that he is a very caring doctor. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Dr Grabow!

Dear Dr. Germin, I want to thank you and let you know how grateful I am for having had the opportunity to carry our my Neurology clerkship with your team at CNS. Not only have I acquired knowledge that I will carry throughout my medical career but now my passion for Neurology is more steadfast than before. Additionally, every day at CNS was educational and enjoyable! I deeply respect the professionalism, intellect and charisma of the entire team at CNS. Might I add, "what has four wings and flies?", is something I find myself contemplating with each new case. Thank you, Team CNS!

Robert A Gatlin MD Facog
I switch to Dr. Gatlin during my third trimester, which I guess a lot if doctors don't do. I can honestly say that since I started going there I fell in love with him, his staff, and the hospital I delivered at. I never had a male woman's doctor but he made me feel more comfortable then any female doctor I have been to. He was always there to answer my questions and was his nurse, Karen. She is such an angel. They both have years and years of experience. I will continue to go to him for any derives he offers. When I have another child I will go to him for my prenatal care.

Dr. Ryan J Grabow, MD
I had been suffering from Dupuytren Contractor for several years and my primary physician did not know what it was. After seeing an orthopedic surgeon, he told me what my issues were and recommended Dr. Grabow. I am so very glad he did, this doctor and his staff are downright awesome. I'll admit, I was afraid when he told me he had to do surgery, but between him and his staff, they were able to put my fears at ease. I have NEVER in my 56 years come across a medical team that actually cares about their patients, what a relief and thanks to Dr. Grabow, I have my hands back.

Evergreens Drugs & Home Medical Supplies
I've been using prescription medication for the last seven years. I've tried them all, practically. I mean I've been to Walgreens, CVS, Walmart Pharmacy, RiteAid Drugs, and etc. By far with very little in between, the pharmacy called Evergreen located within the same building as St. Rose Hospital @ 10001 S Eastern Ave, Henderson, 89052, is in my opinion hands down, the best, fastest, most reliable pharmacy that I have ever been. As long as I continue to need prescription medication, they are the ones that will get my business.Alan S.
Tips & Advices
Academic medical centers provide the widest range of specialty care treatments, including the latest technological advances, clinical trials, and surgical techniques. In general, an academic medical center is a better choice than a community hospital for complicated treatments or rare diseases. Pediatric intensive care, especially, is usually performed at academic medical centers.
Academic medical centers offer a broad range of specialized services, from allergists to urologists. Some of the larger medical centers have entire hospitals or clinics focused on a particular medical service, such as cancer treatment, though specialties vary among the centers. Patients whose community hospital or local doctors do not have the facilities or expertise to address complex medical conditions can be referred by their primary care physician or local specialist to a major medical center (there are more than a dozen in the United States).
Yes. In addition to their inpatient hospital services, medical centers can offer a wide variety of outpatient services, such as pain clinics, rehabilitation centers, surgery, imaging and laboratory, mental health treatment, and outpatient cancer treatment. Medical groups – doctors in private practice but affiliated with the medical center--will also have offices within the medical center.
Physicians, nurses, physician’s assistants, residents, and attending physicians makeup the clinical staff of an academic medical center.
Medical center accreditation is not required, but most centers work voluntarily toward accreditation because it represents higher standards of healthcare quality and patient safety.
