Edge is a very urban chic atmosphere. Contemporary inventive meals made it so hard for us to decide on an entree.I chose the corriander crusted tuna and it was absolutely delicious. We went for a more upscale night out with a few couples and were pleased with our choice - it was all around amazing! Impeccable service from knowledgeable and attentive staff and we will be back!

This is a beautiful, modern coffee shop/ sandwich shop that has long been needed in Tunkhannock. It's right across from the Dietrich, so it's a great place to go before or after a movie. It's intimate, comfortable, and well-decorated. Yummy, well-priced coffee drinks and dessert. I didn't try any of the sandwiches yet, but my friends have said good things. I'm a teacher in the community who grew up here, and we have needed a ""hangout"" forever! There was previously nothing for young teens to do, and I think this is a great option!

My favorite BYOB in the Lehigh Valley is La Locanda Cavallo aka Cavallo’s on route 611 in Williams Township. It is definitely a place to go for a special occasion because it is truly a 4-5 hour "experience" of food, pampering and conversation. Upon arriving, we are greeted by our waiter, GianBrondo Cavallo who introduces himself and explains that he will be taking care of us for the evening. He opens our wine, tells us a little about our meal and tells us to make ourselves at home. Guests are encouraged to roam around the B&B between courses to chat, enjoy their wine and just relax. Beautiful music is played in the background and the environment is filled with antiques and treasures from their travels and regular guests. The evening is typically a five course dinner with guests having their choice of fish, fowl or red meat for their main entree. However, patrons are asked upon making their reservation if there are any restrictions or allergies in advance. Shirley Cavallo, the owner and chef, will cater to the needs of all dietary requests such as vegan, gluten-free, ethnic and religious traditions. She makes everything from the finest, freshest, local ingredients and uses the produce that is in season. Despite the sound of her Italian last name, Cavallo’s is not a traditional Italian restaurant. I would describe it as fine dining that is truly eclectic in nature. My husband David and I often make reservations at Cavallo’s for family birthdays and our anniversary. The portions are huge so we often plan to take half of our food home for the next day! An example of an evening meal there would be to start with a beautiful appetizer like fresh lobster wrapped in puffed pastry or poached scallops in a sherry cream sauce over polenta. After the first course, a vegetable course is served such as a grilled vegetable stack with fontina cheese and maybe a piece of her fresh homemade sausage, Next, there is usually some type of fresh cut pasta-ravioli, cannelloni, tortelloni with crostini bread. (And this is before the entrée!) Next, the entree of your choice is served accompanied by fresh vegetables and fruit. When brought to the table, the plate looks like a masterpiece. The meal is typically completed with a luscious dessert, coffee or espresso, or in our case...a dessert wine. Throughout the meal, Shirley and Brondo come out of the kitchen to talk and tell wonderful stories about some of the amazing people that they have cooked for over the years. I recommend going on an "off" night for the best invidualized attention. Reservations are a must and the evening is paid for via credit card on the phone when you make the reservation so that you do not have to be concerned with paying, leaving tip etc. while you are there. Cost is an all-inclusive price of $150 per person. Tipping is not expected and is included in the price. Although, you always feel as if you want to tip because of how special your evening has been. I usually take Shirley a gift of wine, liquor or music. Although I am new to the area, it is my understanding that Cavallo’s will cater special events at their restaurant such as weddings receptions, showers, holiday parties, corporate events and group events. This restaurant indeed is the very best of the best!
8.Manor House Inn

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here last night. We started with the fruit and cold cheese plate and the smoked salmon and trout plate. Both delicious. The cheese plate consisted of very high quality artisinal cheeses: goat, brie, bleu and perfectly ripe pears. The smoked salmon and trout came with finely diced red onion, horseradish sauce, capers, and crackers. The salmon and trout was fresh and delicious. We shared the lobster bisque which was OUT of this world - lots of lobster chunks, and the Pomme salad was heavenly. My entree was the coconut sauteed lobster tail and my husband had the filet - BOTH of which were cooked to perfection. The lobster tail was a surprising 12 ounces. Our sides were a potato au gratin, asparagus, and herb sauteed summer squash. Again, done to perfection. Expansive wine list. The host, bartender, and waitress were wonderful; attentive - we waited for nothing. This is a hidden gem of a place, cozy, very stately, and in a beautiful old building, tucked away in the lush country side of Center Valley. A place you truly need to visit and enjoy.

The sandwiches and salads are plentiful and delicious. The menu is typically Celtic, hearty fare. Lots of great beers. The service staff is quick, knowlegable and attentive. The crowd is upscale but relaxed. It is also appropriate for families. Close to Bucknell.

Our family made reservations here for graduation based on the menu, prices and relaxed atmosphere they've always had. To our surprise, after the graduation ceremony in May, they ushered us upstairs and gave us an extremely overpriced, specific menu. We asked for the regular menu and they refused, (although we could see it was being used downstairs), we asked to be moved downstairs, but were told this was the only room with tables big enough for a party that large. The food was awful. We feel like they were taking advantage of families that were in town for graduation and had no where else to go. Shame on them! I have no opinion of this restaurant during the regular year, but do yourself a favor and do not get taken advantage of if you are in the area for graduation! Your better off at Pizza Hut!

26.The Melting Pot
2119 Washburn St
I do not recommend the Melting Pot in Scranton to ANYONE! The service was horrible and wait staff and management are extremely rude! At the party I had there, myself and a family member were screamed at for starting to put confetti on the table. The waitress yelled ""its in your contract!"" which it wasn't and was also not mentioned at the meeting i had with the owner. I had no problem with not using the confetti, my problem was with the way I was approached about it. Our party was from 1230-330. My husband and the DJ were told that everyone needed to be out at 330 as the waitress had ""more important things to do"" that day. We had a cash bar, however when someone needed a drink, there was noone to be found. The DJ was constantly being screamed at by the staff to ""turn the music down"" but it was not loud. As if that wasn't enough, when it was time to eat, as the food was getting low we asked for some more to be brought out. they would only bring enough for one serving at a time. The bus boy helped himself to the buffet on more than one occasion and at the end we were told we could not even bring the leftover cake home! When we called to bring this to the owners attention, we were accused of making all of this up, but when we said we could tell him exactly who we had issues with, he knew right away who we were talking about. We wanted no sort of compensation from them, just showing common courtesy to bring to their attention. NEVER AGAIN WILL I HAVE ANYTHING THERE NOR WILL I RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!! DONT HAVE YOUR PARTY HERE! Am only giving a one star because it will not let me submit otherwise, but in my opinion they don't deserve any!

29.Elizabeth's An American Bistro
412 Market St
Had our office holiday lunch here yesterday. The Tuscan Panini is yummy, topped with fig jam. What's neat about this place is the bread, pasta and desserts are made in house. My favorites on this menu are the 5-spice seared duck breast and the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. The staff is fun and friendly, but very professional. The atmosphere is urban upscale, without being fussy. It can get noisy on busy Saturday nights but this adds to the fun. They also have an upstairs dining room which is calmer, if you do not like being around the action. Since we moved here seven years ago this has been our go to place on special occasions or dates. Just wish they opened on Sundays and would bring back the French caramelized apple bread pudding.
30.Viva Euro-Mediterranean Bistro
901 Hill Ave
As frequenters to the Vanity Fair Outlets, my wife and I get tired of fast food and food court food. Viva offers a quiet and comfortable place to get a wide variety of good food in a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure to vacate the table for more folks - it's big enough to accommodate quit a crowd, but the interior is broken up into ma ny intimate and separate areas. There's even a real fire in the fireplace for those nippy afternoons and evenings! We've even gone there as a destination, with no shopping, occassionally! Friendly and cheerful staff, and now a new tapas menu (go for the five items, and be sure one is the shrimp firecrackers!). Good hopuse wines and a wide variety of mixed drinks (another reviewer had trouble here, but that has not been my experience). Only shortconming is a lack of a website, to see what the daily specials are. Enjoy! Laissez les bons temps rouler (Let the good times roll)!
