We had great hopes for my birthday dinner but unfortunately, the restaurant was experiencing service and food problems. Our waitress was a sweetheart but with little experience and given too many tables for her level. The appetizers were great, luckily, as 4 out of the six entree selections our party chose, we were told were not available 40 minutes into our dining. The secondary choices, being rushed through, were so-so or it could have been our disappointment. The staff tried to make up for our lengthy and disjointed dinner by presenting a house cake dessert, tasty in itself, however we had all already ordered ice cream and this well meaning gesture was another letdown. The really unfortunate experience was the non-acknowledgement of a polite follow-up letter to the Manager. As a former restaurant owner, I can guarantee I would overlook an "off-night" but not a snub. I and my people will not be back though I can in fairness say that others may have a good dining experience as the food sampled was tasty.

Had to meet a couple of colleagues for dinner and selected Hayward as the ""in-between"" spot. I was struggling to find anything in the area not fast-food oriented. Decided to go with Buon Appetito and was not disappointed.\r \r I arrived early and it gave me a chance to puruse the wine list while I waited. I can agree with previous reports that you will not be bowled over with some of the service, but if you are good at connecting and indicating you want some service, you'll do fine here. The bartender definitely wasn't there to ""sell"" you on coctails. I asked for recommendations on their red wines and really didn't get too far. I asked to sample one that looked interesting and he oblidged me with a taste. It wasn't what I like - too heavy on the tannins and super dry. When I explained that to him, he recommended I try their house Zinfandel. OMG - it was a fabulous 2003 Zin private labeled by Duarte Vineyards from old vines. I'm telling you - it was perfect for me. \r \r My colleagues arrived and we were seated promptly. The service at the table was better than at the bar. All our entrees were very good and the house dipping sauce for the bread they serve is absolutely amazing. We also has the bruchetta appetizer and it was excellent.\r \r With no room for desert, we enjoyed a cup of coffee to end our meal. On the way out, I wanted more info on the Zinfandel and noticed a different guy behind the bar. Turns out it was the owner/chef. After speaking with him it was obvious he has a great deal of pride in his restaurant and cares about the quality of food and wine offered. \r \r I'll definitely visit again should I find myself in Hayward. I enjoyed it so much, I might actually take my husband and make the trip from the south bay.\r \r Highly recommend!

Great steaks, seafood, & salad"" ....yep, I found myself @ Hayward's Sizzler Sunday (7/16/09) for din w/ my sis & 3 couzins. Good food & great service =) LOCATION: Intersection of Winton Ave & Hesperian Blvd inside shared parking lot to Toys R Us, & next to Tomodachi Sushi Bistro. Plenty of parking in shared lot, but likely may have to drive around to find a spot. Restaurant itself is spacious, clean, & friendly-ready for anyone. It was pretty crowded for a Sunday early evening. Not much of a long line @ register, & a few tables/booths left to chose from. CUST SVC: The staff here overall awesome customer service! Cashier was patient with all of us putting in our orders. Table Hop/Busser friendly w/ drinks & helpful combining 2 tables together for us (that's right, we all need our elbow space when it's eating time..have no time to squeeze all our cakes inside no flippin' booth). Our waiter, Ahmad, was an older gent w/ a lot of spunk/character, but definitely great cust svc. Thorough w/ check up, prompt fulfilling a request, & quite friendly. Unsure if this geezer was flirting w/ us @ times, but he did seem geniune...be on the look out for Ahmad. Keep up the good work team ;-) FOOD: I got the $13 Endless Shrimp *muuuhahaha*! Yes, I hurt myself...my sis was pushing me since I ordered it...she's my cheerleader. Others got burgers & steak. All of us were happy w/ our entrees. The salad buffet bar clean, plentiful, fresh, & tasty w/ veggies, dessert (ice cream machine was out of order...i know, WTH!), & soups. Their clam chowder soup was pretty good I have to say. Banana Pudding was yummy...my vanilla wafer cookies weren't soggy @ all *KUDOS*. END OF DINNER: End of our meal we wrap it up w/ 2-go containers, get the tab for about $100 bucks (another entree 2-go), & leave pymt on the table. Our waiter, Ahmad, comes over to give his speech about call this ph# to say how his svc was yada yada yada. Well, we gather our purses, fix the chairs, Ahmad comes over to say thanks & come again, but also then says ""Where did you leave the tip...here on the table or up front w/ cashier?"" I could not HELP but to give a dumb look to my sista like ""I'm sorry, did he just ask that?"". Well my couz was polite & let him know she had it in her hand & was planning to give it to him, at which he took & thanked again for our visit. My older couz said likely in his culture it's ok to be that straight fwd...before we make it back to the car, I realized his nationality had nuthin' to do wit' it...he asked 'cuz we're in Hayward, where some spots are ghett0 & some folks can be ghett0. If cash was left on the table, it could've been possible that a non-employee would've noticed & snatched it up when no one was looking. Hence why my couz was going to hand tip to him; mom & dad taught all of us right! All in all, great service & good food. I'd recommend this location ;-) ---------------- SIDE NOTE: Oh & my sis said if Ahmad is your waiter, he WILL NOT give you a carry out for food from the buffet bar...per her previous visit w/ other folks who were trying to take home some fried chkn from the buffet bar. Ahmad knows exactly where he works & holds it down for Sizzler's!

The service is great...they know us & know what we want in advance...that makes us feel special...the food is delicious & modifications to our request are always complied (such as no peanuts)...my favorite is the honey walnut prawns mmmm, my husband's is their house fried rice, my son's is the orange chicken, my daughter's is the chow mein...so the whole family enjoys it here. My billed is never compromised & I proudly give a nice tip for their humbleness.

I have had kabobs here and that's it. The menu is limited, but the food is done fantastically. I can say it is definitely some of the best within the area. It takes about 7 minutes for them to make a kabob, so call ahead of you're in a real hurry. Also the owners are very nice.

They have this king kong sized pizza that is great for parties. I don't know what they do to make it tastes so good but everything from the texture to the way the cheese is melted on the bread makes it an awesome place. Definitely worth the price.

One of the last real delis around, this place has the best sandwiches but you'll have wait for them. You can call ahead, which I highly recommend! They have great, fresh salads as well. If you do choose to order in the shop, you'll have Italian pantry staples to browse through as you wait for your number to come up. A must make stop if you're around!

If you love real pakistani food, try out Pakwan. The food is delicious and spicy. I recommend their Chicken boti or tikka, Sheekh kabob and Bihari kabob. In rice dishes, Biryani is worth trying. Their sunday brunch is a real lavish event: dishes like nihari, paya, korma and halwa puri to mention some. Also, remember to ask for their daily special whenever you pay homage to this wonderful restaurant.

Wow a real fine dining restaurant somewhere south of Berkeley! With a wine list you might find at some of the better spots in the Bay Area and a menu (though somewhat compact) which seems aimed at satisfying (I was) and its in.....Hayward? I hope this is a trend for the South Bay and all of us who are getting tired of the long drives after dining in San Francisco or Berkeley or where ever else. When we first arrived we sat at their cozy wine bar and enjoyed the music being played on the vibraphone. Honestly I didn't know there were any spots for jazz down this way. After getting a nice recommendation on wine from the bar tender (we did walk their wine selection on display up front....I admit I am a label reader) and listening to the soothing music we were ushered out to the patio and seated next to a fountain in a lovely, isolated garden. This would have been good enough for me...but then came the food. I'm old fashion and I love a good steak and my favorite is the grilled rib eye. It was cooked just as I asked (medium rare) and my companion had the Lamb (which can be tricky) and they enjoyed every bite. I thought the presentations were good but a little plain and I would like to see more on the starter side of the menu. The desert though was interesting...a grilled, peach Sunday which was wonderful. If you measure fine dining on a satisfaction scale I give Neumanali's high marks. We need more places like this in Southern Alameda County!

This is the first time that I can remember that I never tipped. The service and the food were terrible. I will never go there again. \r We waited 40 minutes for our food. I am not exagerating. We asked that the food be cooked well done, it wasn't, we didn't see the waitress for almost 20 minutes and it did not seem that she cared or came to apologize for the food not being served to us in a timely manner.\r The food is sub-par along and the way that this diner is managed is shoddy.\r I called and complained, but supposedly a regional manager was going to get back to me, they never did.\r Eating out, these days, even for breakfast, is a luxury for our family. When we do go out and dine, we expect good service and good food.\r You will get neither at Carrows in Hayward.\r Don't eat there.

My girlfriends & I have been eating here for just over a year. It has the best Hamachi we have ever had. The pcs are big and succulent sweet. Most everything else were have eaten here has been good except for the spicy tuna it was too mushy. Nothing compares to their Hamachi Nigiri
