Stone Oak Apts
I stayed here for a few months in one of the newly constructed one bedroom apartments. Starting from the outside of the "neighborhood" they do offer a small pool and a workout area. I never used either one, I came close to using the pool a few times but it seemed like people were always in it and if 3-4 people in it, the pool appeared full. It really is a small pool, however it was always kept very clean. The actual area surrounding the pool is not very inviting as far as decor goes or lounge chairs and there's no shade or umbrellas at all. When I signed the lease I was told that once construction was finished with the apartment building across from me, they were going to begin planting plants and bushes around the building but that never happened. It was a bunch of dirt, no grass or anything, so when it rained the outside was a mess. A big big mess honestly. So at move in I had several problems, one of them being the sink leaking and then the shower head barely had any water coming out, also a big spot that was missing paint on the wall. When I asked for maintenance to come and fix the problems I was told that since the apartment was new, I would need to contact the contractor. This was not as easy as it sounds to schedule the repairs because the contractor was from Mission which is quite a distance and could only come at his convenience to repair things. However when he did come, he repaired the issues (also sent the painter for the spot), and was very nice and apologetic about it. During my stay I had a few other problems that came up. One being that the restroom door stopped opening. It was like it wasn't installed correctly and so it began getting stuck closed. Also, the front door had quite a large line down the side where you could see the sunlight coming through, and the washer and dryer pipes that go to the wall appeared as if they were coming out of the wall. The maintenance from the apartment came to fix these problems however the weather strip that was put on the front door was constantly falling off and wasn't given a permanent type of fix until about 1-2 weeks before I moved out, the pipes were pushed back in, and the restroom door was fixed into working condition again. I was always finding bugs in my apartment, I was told that pest control was spraying the inside and outside of the apartment on the days that maintenance came to change the air filters however I have a system that monitors the opening and closing of the front door and the door was open and closed in 1 minute. Literally. So I highly doubt any spraying for bugs was being done inside like they said. The trash is thrown in a big area where there are several big big trash cans, but people would come from the surrounding neighborhoods to throw their trash there also so it filled up very very quickly. Rent is on the cheaper side of things which was good, however you get what you pay for. I had time warner cable and was constantly having problems because too many apartments were assigned to use the same outside connection so there was a lot of "splitting" going on and it caused me (and not only me) to have poor cable/internet signal. The neighborhood is not gated or anything so you will have some cars here and there speeding through at 3am or whenever revving up their engines, but I understand can happen anywhere. When I moved out, I asked to speak with someone from management about the time I lived there, being completely disappointed but I was never contacted by anyone. The only good part was the person at the office -Ivonne, was very nice and helpful with any problems or any questions that came up. I suppose there's always a plus living in a new apartment, but this one came with a lot of problems also. I believe it was poorly constructed and was rented too quickly to begin making a profit on the apartments when they weren't exactly finished, and from what I heard my apartment wasn't the only one with problems like these (and more even).

Vantage at Harlingen
So far so good! I've been living here a little over a month now, and compared to my last apartment I Love it. The environment is so welcoming and the neighbors are all very nice. As far as controlling the pool usage, residents are given bracelets for themselves and guests so everyone needs to use them while at the pool that way people who don't live here are not using the pool. I have had to call maintenance for small things and they have come right away to fix the problems. The office staff has been very helpful, especially Lupe, she is AWESOME! The price is a little up there but you get what you pay for I have learned that from my previous apartment. The only downfall I would have to say is, unless you rent a carport parking space (assigned) or a garage (also assigned), all the other spaces are first come first serve and sometimes you may have to park a little far from your apartment. The complex is very animal friendly, even with a dog park. I wish the dog park had picnic benches however it is a great spot to let your dog run free and socialize for a bit. Overall, I have been enjoying my stay so far! Best move I've made so far.

Moved in on April 28, 2016Since moving in my a/c has gone out twice and the property manager has gotten it fixed in a timely manner. As soon as I have a problem, he gets it fixed usually within 3-4 days sometimes the same day if possible. I was accepted here after making my application when no other complex would accept me. I have two kids aged 3 & 6 and my 15 yr old sister who I also take care of and because of that no other complex would allow me in to a two bd apt. Here the property was very understanding of my situation and helped me the application and just like that I was approved an hour later. Came back paid my $300 deposit and $550 rent. Got my key and started moving right on in. The price of $550 for my two bd apt is just right and plus all you have to pay is just light. Even on-site laundryroom close-by and good prices for those too. Here at this complex I have never had a bad experience with the landlord(s) very understanding and willing to work with you as long as you are willing to work with them and be honest. If any problems the property manager is somehow always available to help you out.

This place is great! Quiet, friendly respectful neighbors. The apartments are great, they are newly remodeled and are so modern inside, my favorite spot is the kitchen because the granite counter tops and cherry wood cabinets are just beautiful! Management is awesome, always there to help in any way they can!
