Mr Fix It Home Services
We used Mr Fix It to finish our basement. We needed a play area for our kids and my husband wanted an extra tv room. It turned out wonderful! The whole crew was friendly, hard working, and professional. They listened to our wants and ideas and kept us updated about their progress each step of the way. We will be using Mr Fix It for future home improvement needs and would recommend to anyone. They are fairly priced and really put a lot of effort into perfecting each task they do.
Tips & Advices
Typically it takes a team of two technicians between two to four hours to clean the air ducts of a single family residence. Larger residences may take longer. Of course, all of this depends on the condition of the ducts and the crew’s experience.
Negative pressure air duct cleaning is a process in which the ducts are cleaned by hand in concert with compressed air tools to dislodge dirt and debris, which is then vacuumed up and removed. It is considered a superior cleaning method in its efficiency and in preventing dislodged debris from escaping the ducts and contaminating the air in the residence.
It is recommended you clean wall vents twice a year. The cleaning process is simple, but be careful not to blow the contaminants back out into your home’s air. If your A/C unit is under heavy use or there is poor air quality in your area, you might need to clean more often. Consult a technician if you are unable to do it yourself.
There are absolutely health benefits to duct cleaning! Clean air is healthy air. This is particularly important for babies or the elderly, or for those who suffer from health issues, especially respiratory and bronchial issues and allergies.
It is recommended that standard household HVAC systems be cleaned every three to five  years. Variables such as usage, system age, local air quality, and the number of residents and pets affect the frequency of cleaning. Under more extreme conditions, up to every two years may be recommended. If your HVAC unit is not functioning properly, it may need cleaning or maintenance; consult a professional for a diagnosis.
