Kool Smiles
My first visit was challenging. I chose Kool Smiles because of my toddler; he is very busy and they claim to be child-friendly, which they clearly appeared to be. He is two and loves to use the slide and watch cartoons while we wait for appointments. It's a good thing he enjoys those so much, because it took me nearly two whole hours to be seen for my first appointment, due to insurance questions and the fact that Delta failed to send my card for more than a year. Oops. Anyway, that was the hardest part. The office manager was great and kept my son occupied so I could have my teeth cleaned and X-rays done with little interference. Second appointment: not horrible. Had three cavities filled by a doctor who failed to introduce herself, and had a mold made for a bite guard. I paid for all of that on my way out. Third appointment: horrible. I arrived ten minutes before my scheduled appointment, toddler in tow, on approximately 4 hours of sleep because I work nights. "I'm sorry, we aren't taking patients right now because our system is down." Really? You don't keep paper records of anything (like an appointment book?! With PHONE NUMBERS in it?!?)? So I had to turn around and leave, when all I came in for was to try on my guard and go home with it. The receptionist (who is hardly qualified to do this job) called me the next day. When I asked if I could just come by and pick up my guard rather than make an appointment, I was informed that I could. So that's what I did...and that's when they told me that I needed an actual appointment so the doctor could hand it to me (again, her name is a mystery!) and I could try it on to see if it fit. So I made a 4th appointment. It went far better than the others. Unfortunately, I have to schedule a 5th appointment due to an infection I developed at the Novocain injection site in my mouth. It's been over a month now and my filled tooth and injection site are both causing me severe pain. It would be nice to find a dentist that can do the job well. I'm tired of going to someone who causes me more headaches and physical aches than I need.

Kool Smiles is a nice dental clinic for children as far as the facility, office staff, and the dentists however; I find that some dental assistants lack of professionalism when dealing with patients and parents. As a parent, I find it extremely important to mention any and all medical conditions prior to any procedure because even when I may not be aware that a specific condition may or may not interfere with the procedure being done; the dental assistants are the professionals and should inform the parent/patient to the best of their ability instead of discouraging the parent from informing a medical condition just because they think it's not a medical condition. I informed the dental assistant that my son has both seasonal and food allergies for which he is both treated by a physician and medication and she had the nerve to tell me in a rude way that those are not medical conditions! Looks like someone needs to be better trained in her profession. Even if those allergies do not affect the dental procedure being done, it's important to mention it because the patient is on a medication for it and as a parent I am not aware if such medication may interfere with such dental procedure. So if she is asking me if the patient has any allergies or any other medical conditions, I will answer the question so that we are clear and there aren't any misunderstandings. Better to be safe than sorry for being negligent. Also, another thing they fail to do is not covering the patient when doing xrays. I don't think I have to tell them how to do their job right but apparently these assistants have no vocation at all for their job. It feels very uncomfortable to have to make sure your child is being taken care of correctly and even more when you feel like you have to ask questions to understand the treatment and they feel uneasy to answer. As a parent I have every right to ask anything I need to know in regards to their dental procedure.

I have been bringing my two children to kool smiles for about 8 yrs now. We have always had a good experience with them, the wait time is a little bit longer sometimes through the week but I understand because they are are busy with fixing smiles! I chose kool smiles because They were a new practice in town and needed a new dentist for my older son who had a very horrible and abusive experience with another dentist and I needed to find a friendly, compassionate environment right away!I'm so glad I made the choice and we are here to stay. The kool smiles staff are aware of his past experience and do a great job always making his visit a good one.At the last visit the boys had the pleasure of getting Angie as their hygienist and she is our personal favorite! She's very great with the boys.. all of the staff is! Anyways, at this visit the boys got a panogram, cleaning and much to my surprise some cavities!! Angie told the boys the importance of brushing and flossing and was very informative with offering me information on a place that I can go for affordable dental care that I would have never found on my own, I don't have full dental coverage and need to get some cavities filled right away. She really went the extra mile and made my day with the information she gave me because I have been in pain with a couple cavities and can't afford to go anywhere I've researched. Thanks to Angie I can now afford to take care of my smile. In closing... I will continue to take my boys to kool smiles and always recommend them to friends and family that want friendly dental care.

We arrived for my children's appointments fifteen minutes early, there was only one other person in the waiting room when we arrived and another family came in shortly after us. After waiting for 15 minutes while the front desk staff sat there chatting, we were called up to wait while they pulled out the same basic paperwork that we have to fill out every visit. We then went back to waiting for another 15-20 minutes before being called back. We had to wait another fifteen minutes after going back, before being seen by a hygenist. The hygenist was wonderful, she was very patient and worked very well with my two year old, who was cranky after having to wait so long after our arrival. When the dentist came he seemed nice enough, however with informing me or asking me first he shoved the brush with the fluoride treatment into my son's mouth without any concern to face that, I did not want that. We have had great experiences here in the past, but after this horrible experience, we will not be returning or referring anyone else here.

I would not recommend this dentistry. They have you sign a contract stating that the patient cannot miss or cancel, without 24 hours notice, 3 appointments in a ONE YEAR PERIOD. I completely understand this from a business point of view and signed it willingly. I cancelled 2 appointments too late in a one year period, and then missed 1 appointment AFTER my one year mark. Life gets in the way and we get busy, we make mistakes. I was sent a letter stating they did not want me to come back because I violated their contract, which technically I didn't. So, apparently this dentistry is not in need of new business if they let their patient families go so easily. We transfered to another dentistry, I told them that my last dentist said I had a cavity that needed to be filled. Guess what?! My new dentist could not find where this so called cavity was! So either Smile Design Center and Dr. McAllister lied to me, or my new dentist doesn't know what they are doing...I guess you decide.

First Seidy took x rays of my kids teeth. She was very professional and VERY nice and patient! Especially with my little one who tends to be wiggly. Angie cleaned their teeth. She was VERY nice to the kids and answered all my questions! She didn't even have to think about the answers and had NO problem with Anything I asked!! She treated my kids with so much kindness and gentle that they want to come back! I am in Love with Dr. Ranga! He was SO nice and SO patient!! He explained everything very clearly and a couple times I had to ask him twice because I wasn't sure. But he answered my question like it was the first time! He was so nice with the kids! We had a very good experience today and I am very pleased and happy with how well my kids - and ME were treated! thank you! - for being so GREAT!!

Today was my first visit to Kool Smiles the facility was very clean and staff were very friendly made me feel welcome and important to them. When Sonya took my xrays she made me feel relaxed and she was very gentle and professional. Chelsea was my hygienist and she made me feel as though she really cared about me and my teeth. She took her time and removed all the plague from my teeth, they feel wonderful. She also gave me information on tooth paste and taking care of my teeth, she is great! Dr K was my Dentist and he was very knowledgeable and very informative. He told me brushing my teeth to hard would cause damage. I never knew that. The staff at Kool Smiles really care about you and your Smile, I highly recommend them to everyone. Best dentist I ever seen. Thank you Kool Smiles Staff.

The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful with paper work and understanding. We spent the most time with Angie. She is amazing with children, understanding and not only educated them with dental care but me as well and tips that would make it easier to keep them brushing their teeth. Also advice to help prepare the little one for the next cleaning. she explained everything she was doing and showed the kids the tools. lauren took our pictures she was very kind as well and even left the younger one stand back and watch her sister. The dentist Dr.K explained what was going on with their teeth and what needed to be done. Great dental office and experience. Jen was also amazing with the kids and played with them as well as helping myself out and explaining things. Thank you all

Kool Smiles
I had to go to Kool Smiles to get my teeth cleaned and I had found out I had a few cavities and I have never had any before so I was super nervous to get fillings. When I went in for my fillings, the dental assistant that was helping the doctor through the procedure calmed me down and helped me so much. Jessie is wonderful because we easily had a connection and she made it fun for me instead of scary. The dentist, Dr. Agrawal, was super nice and funny. Both of them together made me feel very comfortable and I actually enjoyed my visit there. They were a wonderful time!! I definitely recommend Kool Smiles and they are a must to have do fillings or procedures!!

I gave 2 stars because the hygienists have been friendly each time We have been there. The scheduling is the worst I have ever dealt with in any medical or dental office. We made an appt for 4:15 to be called back at 5:25. We were told it would be a 45-60 minute wait when we walked into the office "that everyone who scheduled showed up." Overbooking themselves on purpose is absurd. With that being said, there was another lengthy wait once we were called back, just so the male dentist could quickly brush fluoride on my son's teeth, with no where to spit. It was just ridiculous. You wait forever to be rushed through the actual exam.
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
