Creature's Comfort Pet Lodge
If you think you love your pets, Sherri loves them more! I had to board my yorkies for 9 days, and was really concerned about anorexia and separation anxiety. She was excellent, she even had aroma therapy to help relax the dogs. Sherri told me she used to own a cleaning business, and it makes sense when you walk in the pet boarding area. It doesn't smell like a kennel, she is keeps the place spotless. The dogs have AC indoor kennels, with dog doors and they are played with in a yard like 4x a day. She had the dogs bathed the day my husband came to pick them up, with no additional charge. She even called after they were home to make sure they were adjusting well to the change. Like I said, you think you love your pets Sherri will love them more. I live in Ocean Springs, and she is defiantly worth the drive. = )

Creature's Comfort Pet Lodge
This is a great place to board your pet without worring about them. Plenty of room for dogs to exercise on their own individual dog run and a cat room with plenty of places to explore. They stay in a living room setting to help them feel at home. It is a little out of the way, but well worth the drive. Other places use cages/creates to board the pets. This is not like those places. Did I mention clean...this place is spotless and Shari and John love being around all the animals that come through their front door...or any door for that matter. Without question, I would recommend this place without any reservation...BTW: making your pet reservations are always a good idea.

Penny's Pampered Pets
I don't know where the first commenter brought their dog but it wasn't to Penny. She is amazing! She has been grooming for 17 years and I have been bringing my dogs there nearly as long. The dogs are safe, loved and yes, pampered! I board my dogs there also and the love and care they receive there by Barbara can be matched by no one! She lives there so the dogs get round the clock care and love! She creates a homey atmosphere with love and kindness and I will always use them when I can't be with my dogs myself. They provide after hours arrangements when needed and have never let me down. Go and visit them and judge for yourself, you will not be sorry!
Tips & Advices
Pets that do not get along with other animals may incur an additional fee. Some facilities have special solitary sleeping and play animals for these types of pets.
A checklist for what to bring to a pet kennel includes:
  • Vaccination records
  • A favorite toy or blanket
  • Food and feeding instructions (if the pet has dietary restrictions or is a picky eater)
  • Medication (if necessary, in its original bottle and with written instructions)
Some pet kennels have veterinarians as part of their daily staff, while others only have vets part time or on call.
Most kennels can provide basic care such as administering medications, but owners of pets with serious medical issues should choose a facility with a veterinarian on call.
Bordetella, commonly known as kennel cough, is highly contagious, and most dogs catch it at least once in their lifetimes. As such, all dogs should be vaccinated at least 7 days before boarding.
