Hall Tire & Battery Company
My first experience was a few months ago. I was looking to have a front end alignment done, front brakes and new tires so I looked for places through Google. After reading the reviews I chose Hall Tire. Josh and his guys did a great job at a good price and talked to me all through the process. Today I went back to have the rear brakes replaced expecting to have to pay from $200 to $300 dollars. Josh came to me and asked me to come out into the garage to look at my brakes. Once in the garage he showed my brakes compared to the new ones. He and his mechanic both told me they did not feel my brakes needed replacing. Most places would have just replaced the brakes, charged me for it and sent me down the road. The mechanic spent about an hour taking everything apart and putting it back together. When Josh told me they were finished with my truck I asked how much I owed and was told I owed nothing. I even tried to pay them for their time and Josh would not accept it. I live in north Greensboro and have no less than 5 tire shops within 4 miles of my house but I will gladly pass them up and continue to go to Hall. Other businesses could learn from Josh, Jimmy and the folks at Hall about customer relations.

Taylor's Discount Tire & Automotive
I LOVE this place. They're always quick, affordable, and have great customer service. Today they fixed my flat tire for free which is unbelievably awesome. I don't know much about cars and usually feel pretty dumb when I bring my car in anywhere to get work done but they have never made me feel this way even when they could have. A few months ago I brought my car in and complained about how dim the lights on my dash were and somehow they managed to get the message across to me that all I had to do was hit a switch to make it brighter and they weren't even the least bit condescending about it. And how do you not roll your eyes at something like that? Haha. So yeah, I'm an idiot, but Taylor Tire is awesome.

Reed Tires Inc
The gentleman who assisted me was very courteous and professional. I went to have my front 2 tires replaced, for $65.00. The service was so quick, I didn't even have a chance to get situated to read an article. I was so impressed that I immediately called my partner and told him about Reed Tires. I ended up taking my partner's car, which I thought needed 4 tires and was told when I arrived that I only needed 2. They could have ended up making an extra $80 if they had replaced all 4 tires. Honesty, courtesy, and customer service won me and my partner over. I will continue to go to Reed Tires for my tire needs and will recommend them to everyone!

Bessemer Tire & Automotive
I had a great experience buying tires here. I found the tires I wanted for $100 less than anywhere else. I called to tell them I was on my way and the paperwork was done and waiting for me when I got there. They finished the job in just a couple of hours and even checked my spare tire for free. There was no wait to check in or out and the price was exactly as quoted. Check them out next time you need tires.

West Lee St Tire & Automotive
Honest and fair. Been in business and working together their entire lives. Will never cheat you even if they don't like you (sometimes think that's the case with me ha ha). Look below the surface - these guys don't try to impress anybody but are competent and have consciences. If you want to pay more for more gloss, go down the street - but you won't get a better job done, I guarantee it.

Bessemer Tire & Automotive
My husband and myself love Bessemer Tire. They have the best prices on tires and the customer service to match. They offer free tire rotation also. The only problem I've ever had is actually getting into their parking lot. (It's always full of customers.) The service is always fast.

Cardinal Tire & Automotive
When you find a business that make you want to write a good review you have found something rare. My car was deadlined from a whole in the engine block but the care, professionalism, customer service and the honesty that cardinal provided actually made the experience enjoyable.

I have been doing business with Hall tire for years now. They don't try to sell you the biggest and most $$. I always tell them what my needs are and they show me my choices. I never go here with my husband and never feel taken advantage of. Thanks Hall Tire!

West Lee St Tire & Automotive
I love West Lee Tire and Auto. John has helped me numerous times even when it meant directing my business elsewhere (where I could make use of a guarantee on an existing part). They're trustworthy, their fees are quite reasonable and their work, well done.
Tips & Advices
Yes. New tires purchased online can often be priced lower than ones at a tire dealership. Buyers can often avoid state sales taxes and locate hard-to-find tire styles and sizes, but will still have to locate a local tire installer and pay sometimes high shipping costs.
The average cost of a set of new tires is $637, with a range of between $525-$725. In addition, installation includes mounting and balancing, alignment, and disposal of old tires.
The vehicle is raised and the old wheels are removed, then the old tires are removed from the wheels. The lug nuts, wheels, and valve stems are inspected and replaced as needed. The new tires are mounted and sealed, then inflated and balanced. The wheels are then replaced on the car. The average installation takes approximately 45 minutes.
Agencies such as the Tire Industry Association promotes tire safety through advocacy and education to the industry including: manufacture, sales, repair, service and recycling. Seek a full-service tire dealer who carries a wide variety of tire types and brands and asks about the type of driving you normally do.
  • Move your car to a safe location.
  • Turn on your car’s safety lights, apply the parking brakes and remove the hubcap if there is one.
  • Loosen the lug nuts with a lug wrench (but do not remove them), raise the vehicle with a jack and then fully remove the lugnuts.
  • Remove the flat tire and replace it with the spare tire.
  • Tighten the lug nuts by hand, lower the car and then tighten them fully with the lug wrench.

Just a moment...
