It's funny to give a rating, it feels insufficient to what the experience actually is but it is a start. For the facility, which I suppose is Dick's (Richard's) office, I gave 5 stars. It is just a little office in Greenfield but the arrangement of it, the resources (literary, visual and audio (music, recorded voice)) allow a remarkable range of experience to occur. So what he does with that limited space allows many other limits to be explored and overcome. It is difficult work with Dick. You encounter parts of yourself that you wish were not true and have spent a good deal of energy denying and trying to avoid. This internal rejection is a part of the disease that Dick is trying to cure. Through multiple methods, including journaling to marginalized aspects of our self, speaking with honesty about our experience in relationship to others and inviting them to do the same with us, he gives opportunity for us to soften and dissolve the singularity of identity so that we can become more porous and adaptable. By coming into realtionship with feared and rejected parts of ourself we also gain their energy and intelligence as part of who we are. The more they are included in our identity the more aligned and cooperative they become and we become less afraid internally and in relationship to others and the world. On a personal level I often am frustrated and sometimes disappointed with aspects of Dick's personality, he vaccuums up bugs for instance. But when I have experiences of how much love and intelligence and beauty lay waiting in our hearts I understand how much effort he is making to awaken us to what we are while dissuading us from from fixating on him as the source of it. It is a very sophisticated endeavor that requires a great deal of courage, honesty and flexibility on all parts. Also, Dick is one of the funniest people I know, even though sometimes when you're pissed at him you don't want to admit it.

Richard's profound intuition, sensitivity, honesty, integrity and commitment to his clients make for a rare practitioner. His insights and responses are guided by a large love for all of creation. The relational counseling style makes it possible for me to see – in real time – what my patterns are, so that I am able to transform into a better and more embodied version of myself. I recommend him wholeheartedly and equally to those who are struggling, as to those who are sailing smoothly and want to broaden their capacities to love.

Richard Orton is the wisest psychotherapist in the area. If you want emotional/ spiritual growth: he is the one. He has knowledge and the spiritual practice of many years. Most therapists have the theory but they do not have a spiritual practice, background and commitment as he shows it. He is not an enabler, he will tell the truth and the truth may hurt, but this is the only way we can grow as human beings. So, if you dont want to hear it, may be he is not the one for you. His teachings are universal/ Buddhist practices.

An extremely creative counselor with a great depth of spiritual understanding. Not easy work, but well worth the effort. A way to understand our human condition and the greater reality of who we really are. Cannot recommend his service more.
