Northwest Urgent Care at Duval Mine Road
This was not my first time here, but had never seen these reviews, yes some things are a little pricey, probably because of those that go, don't have insurance and we all pay, but I do have a $50 when I go, I've had to go and get hydrated when very ill, but this is about my son, I work full time, he told me Thursday night at 8pm, Mom I think I have an ear infection, Ok tomorrow is Friday, I have to be at work at 9 am, they open at 8am, we were at the door when they opened, I'm not usually pushy but seeing that the lady behind me wth her son was in her pj's I'm assuming she didn't work today, so I just pushed my way in as I was first, I was signed In promptly by a very nice lady, we were seeing the Dr in ten minutes, I was out the door after a very pleasant experience by 8:23, I went to walgreens where Tracey is just the best pharmacist,my son had his scripts on his way home, as be drives, and I was at my desk by 9:03. Only 3 minutes late! and the whole experience was wonderful, did I pay more than I would've at my primary, yes, was it worth it? Yes, these people complaining about the extra fees, some times you have to pay more for " urgent care" if you want to pay less, wait two weeks for your regular Dr, I loved this experience and would pay extra again!! I'm so glad they are there, and I thank you ladies and men for being so extra pleasant first thing in the am, and thanks for the wonderful care for my son!

Carondelet Medical Group
Great, the whole place is very professional, the girls are pleasant at check in, the Dr.s nurse is great, Dr.Riewh ( pretty sure I'm spelling his name wrong) but he is just such an excellent Dr, he does listen, he takes time wth you, and doesn't hurry you out, I really like the whole place, from check in to check out but every thing else you need is right there just about the same building, you won't regret going to this facility, best decision I've made.

Dr H is AWESOME! He was our family doctor in Virginia for 20 years! He listens and explains options well and pays attention to you. He was great with our daughter from 2 weeks old and then became our family doctor for my husband and myself!! Love and miss him!!

Tips & Advices
A child should see his or her pediatrician frequently during the first few years. Once the child reaches age 3, parents should schedule a doctor's visit at least once per year. Before that, however, the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests parents arrange visits according to the following schedule:
  • 2 to 5 days old
  • 1 month old
  • 4 months old
  • 6 months old
  • 9 months old
  • 12 months old
  • 15 months old
  • 24 months old (2 years)
  • 30 months old (2.5 years)
No, parents should call 911, an emergency physician, or a pediatric emergency physician if a child suffers an acute illness or injuries. Doctors in these fields are more qualified than pediatricians to handle emergency situations.
A well-visit is a routine visit with a pediatrician to track a child's development, discuss medical or emotional concerns, and receive immunizations and medical advice.
Yes, pediatricians provide immunizations for infants and children up through 21 years.
No, pediatricians do not have to be board certified. They're only required to have a state license. However, certification indicates a dedication to studying pediatrics beyond the requirements.
