My only disappointment with RMA is that it wasn't available sooner for my daughter. Having opened in 2014, I didn't find RMA until 2015. My daughter spent two years with RMA and will now be attending Leonardo DaVinci School for gifted learners this coming fall. There is ZERO doubt in my mind that the educational foundation my daughter received at RMA fostered, encouraged, and refined my daughters abilities and prepared her superbly for her ultimate acceptance at DaVinci. Even more impressive are the numerous other children that now attend DaVinci, having attended RMA previously. It is obvious that my daughters experience is not unique, but rather a testament to RMA's overall program.I'm surprised by a previous review regarding RMA's ESL abilities. While I cannot speak to another's experience, nor would I ever assume to know their personal circumstances; I witnessed something different. Both years my daughter attended she had several children in her classes that spoke very little if any English in the fall, only to be speaking English fluently by the spring. In fact, a couple of those same students will also be attending DaVinci. My only 4 star was given to the grounds. That's only because the playgrounds at the west campus are wood chips/dirt, and get very muddy. As a result I could've been a spokesperson for a laundry detergent commercial, trying to keep her clothes clean. This was a good problem however, as it was a testament to how much fun she had playing with her friends.
Do not send your kid to royal Montessori if you speak a foreign language instead of English at home with your kid. My kid is 2 years old and we sent him to Montessori. We do not speak English at home. When we went to tour, the receptionist was very courteous and generous. They said they have lot of patience and they totally understand our situation and assured they will slowly reach my son few words in English. But after 9 days, they prepared a report without our knowledge stating false information. And within 15 days, they setup a parent teacher meeting where they mentioned that my son was not obeying their instructions ( since it's English, he needs time ).. and they asked to have birth to 3 program.. we rejected that saying he needs at least couple of months since it's a foreign language for a kid and any kid will take time to learn. And all of sudden, the next day we received a call from MRS. JAMES .. and she said they had unenrolled my son from Montessori and we need not send him again. There was no meeting.. it was just conveyed over call. When we went to talk to her in person on our own , she was very very rude and she even escorted us out till we took my son's belongings even though we were very polite. Their patience level with a kid is for 9 days. I even saw this happen for couple of my colleagues as well. So, I suggest not to send your kid if you speak different language at home. Their patience level is nill.
We LOVE Royal Montessori Academy! I have a four-year-old daughter that has gone there since it opened and we have had nothing but positive experiences. My daughter is in the preschool program and knows most of her letters and how to write her name, which is absolutely amazing. She has a binder with all of her work so I can see how she is progressing without having to talk to the teacher during the busy drop-off and pick-up times, which is so nice! The owner Tara is fabulous! She is so passionate and treats the children as her own. She is constantly working to improve the school. One day my daughter was having a hard time and drop off and I texted her to see how she was doing and she sent me a picture of her - doing great! As a parent, that is appreciated! Having four kids of her own she definitely can relate to the parents! My daughter's teacher is also amazing. It took a while for my daughter to warm up to her but now that she has, she LOVES her! Every time I pick up or go on a field trip, I am just amazed at how her teacher can be engaged with the children ALL day. She sings about everything, which always catches children's attention and is always setting a good example. I toured several schools before choosing this school and it is the best school in the Green Bay area, hands down!
