Prestige Carpet Cleaning
This company was recommended to me from another tenant in my building. The price was good so I scheduled them to come. When they arrived only one man spoke English. They use the outdoor water to our apt building which my landlord was very upset about because the outdoor water had already been turned off for the winter. They had gone in and turned it back on without permission. I was also told my husband that the time before they had unhooked the washer to get water for their equipment. She called to let me know she wasn't happy with me for letting them do this. I had no knowledge of how they accessed the water. I showed them the areas to clean and the stains we needed to be removed which when I spoke to them on the phone I was told they could remove. They told me they could not get any of the stains out. All they tried was a spray bottle and the tip of the bottle to rub in the spray stuff. Whatever was in the spray bottle didn't even lighten the stains. They were done in less than 2 hrs with the whole house. Once they were gone I walked around the apt to view the job done and was very very disappointed with the level of work so I called my bank to cancel the check. The carpet was very wet and there were small pieces of leaves and other ground up things left behind in the wet carpet. There was also lines all over the carpet where the men with the cleaning wand had not overlapped the cleaner. I thought that after the carpet dried and I vacuumed all the junk and the lines would go away this was not the case. It has been weeks since they came and I still have lines and junk on my carpet. I even have found small sharp pieces which I have gotten stuck in the bottom of my foot.I now have to pay again for someone to clean up the mess they made of my carpet. Please don't use them ever. My landlord put out a message to all residents that they are not allowed to have them in any apt ever. She is upset and disappointed and so am I.

ABRA Chem-Dry
I JUST had my carpets cleaned but I can already say I'm thrilled with the result. ABRA was able to get stains out of my carpet that I thought were impossible to remove. They will definitely be my first call next time!

ABRA Chem-Dry
These guys are the best. I won't use anyone but ABRA Chem-Dry. The best part is they don;t just do carpets. The other month I had them come in and they resealed my vinyl.
Tips & Advices
Homeowners can purchase carpet cleaners ranging from compact units to full-size industrial-strength machines. Some models specialize in removing allergens from pet hair, while others may work better on tough stains. Some carpet cleaners can be bulky and require ample storage space. Other features you may want to consider for in a cleaning unit include: attachments that work on upholstery, stairs, bare floors, or small spaces; brushes; and a removable hose.
Renting is usually much cheaper than owning a machine or hiring a service. But not all rental units perform equally, some might require extra drying time or the use of special solvents that will cost more. - Renting a unit means you must also move furniture yourself and pay close attention to ensure you're operating the unit correctly. Making a mistake could mean damaging your carpet or the unit itself. Improperly drying carpet could allow harmful bacteria and mold to grow.
Yes. This may involve specifying exactly what services you would like performed, as well as the size of your home's carpeted area. Make sure you understand exactly what is included in a quoted price. Some businesses may charge extra to move furniture, clean stairs, or use special treatment methods. Ask questions if any detail about the quote is unclear.
Decide which method you want to use by taking into consideration not only cost, but how long the process will take from start to finish, including drying time. Don't always go with the service offering the lowest price, or hire a service who advertises door-to-door or over the phone, unless you have done thorough research on them. Ask if the company conducts background checks on employees, as well as if they are insured in your state. Without liability insurance, a mistake that results in damage to your home or furniture may be your responsibility to pay for.
Using powerful solvents to break down dirt and stains, dry cleaning puts less physical stress on the carpet, and thus might be better in the long run. However, dry cleaning is usually more expensive than hot-water cleaning services. In addition, the chemicals used to dry clean carpets might irritate pets, people with sensitive skin, or anyone sensitive to strong odors.
