I take my dog here for grooming. He is a very fickle and sometimes mean dog. We have had previous groomers refuse to groom him out of fear. Never know who he is going to like. But the groomers at petsmart are very professional, great training and always get Marley groomed and he looks great. They don't even believe me that he can be mean!

I love the store itself, but grooming is what I am reviewing. I tried two times to have my dog's nails trimmed there and both times were horrible. The first time I paid for a grinding but they said my dog didn't like it so they couldn't finish it. I didn't want to torture my dog and force her to get the grinding done so we left and had to come back maybe 3 weeks at the very most later because her nails were overgrown again. The lady barely spoke English so they couldn't find my account and she spelled everything wrong. Then when I told them to do the grinding whether she likes it or not they took her back and I watched them clip 3 of her quiks and torture my dog. They looked like they had no idea what they were doing. Then when I voiced my concern the lady said she was doing great and they "didn't hit any of her quicks". I thought maybe I was just being overly sensitive and took her home. Yet again no grinding was done because she "didn't like it". I got home and had wrap her paw all night because they did in fact clip her quicks. I wish I could upload a picture of the HORRIBLE job they did. Blood everywhere, split nails, and the others that weren't cut past the quick were still very long. Never going back. Hopefully everyone else will spare their dogs too.

I wouldn't take my x husband there. Half of them are untrained and 100% over priced

I have 4 dogs. I took all of them to this location. I have 2 goldens, a German shepherd and a minature dachsund. The German and the mini just got baths. We specifically asked for JUST A TRIM on the goldens. Before we took them they both had wispy curls all over and had pretty long hair. When we arrived to pick them up, the 2 goldens hair WAS COMPLETELY SHAVED OFF. We only asked for a trim!! My goldens now look like labs. Overall an upsetting experience. Won't be returning to petsmart for grooming.
Tips & Advices
Pet owners usually sign a waiver stating that any injury or illness a dog suffers while at daycare is the responsibility of the owner. However, most facilities carry liability insurance and pet business insurance in the event of a serious incident. To prevent illness, facilities are strict about requiring proof of vaccination and general health from a veterinarian prior to accepting a dog. However, in an off-leash setting, scuffles or fights might occur. Reputable facilities will often hire vet assistants who can treat minor injuries and under-the-weather dogs.  For anything more serious, a good daycare should make it a priority to get the dog to a vet, and get in immediate contact with the owner.
