This place deserves only a 2 star because of its location which is a convenience to those of us living in motels like Grand Rapids Inn or America's Best Inn. As for cleanliness and decent morality, it deserves no stars. I am being polite folks. My husband and I tried this place because when it was the Friends Restaurant it was actually a lot better than what it is now. It's a shame they left. First off, no one seated us and it took about ten minutes for them to even realize we were there. There was crusty food sticking to the dishes, no sugar or basic condiments were even at our table. They don't even have all the food listed on the actual menu. Then to top it off, we left in a hurry because our taxi was there because they had taken so long to get our order to us, We only paid for the drinks and it came to $3.46. I gave the waitress a $3 tip which was very polite considering she really only had to get us our drinks. She decided to be deceitful and took a $5 tip for herself. Luckily we were able to get the bank to reverse the charges. But if I were you, I would go to Denny's or Ihops for morning breakfast. These people should be closed down!
If you like Carlo's Pizza Connection, well they now have another restaurant that they recently opened up in Wyoming at 1560 44th. St. SW. They have a large delivery area that includes Grandville and Kentwood as well as Wyoming. The dinners are authentic and good. The pizza we ordered, their deluxe was maybe average in taste and quality of toppings. The prices for their foods are higher than other restaurants offering the same fare of food of equal or better quality. They also have some mexican foods, fried foods, wings, salads, ribs, and subs.Their delivery was quick averaging around a half hour from time of order, and the food was hot.If you like Carlo's and you live out of the orginal Carlo's restaurant you'll like and appreciate their new restaurant.
I ordered a very great meal on Saturday the 8th of this month, January, during the worst blizzard we have had in the area for a while. I had the double cheese, ham and pepperoni 8 inch pizza, and my girlfriend left no survivors with the 16 piece bone in chicken wings. She has ordered several times, but I have not ordered here for quite a few years, just was not a thought. I WILL be back, I forgot how great the flavors were, and just finished the cold leftovers for breakfast. The young lady who delivered to us was very polite and apologetic of the long wait, It was NOT a long wait, what with the lousy driving conditions. So we gave her a nice tip, and off she went. All in all, a great dinner experience,
We've ordered their special several times now. They have two 14" pizza's with 6 toppings each for only $18.50 tax included. You can't beat the price anywhere in the Grand Rapids area. And as for the quality of the pizzas they are fresh, flavorful, and more than a decent amount of toppings. They don't skimp on the cheese or the toppings. I challenge anyone to try their deluxe pizza. If you have a family to feed, or just a big appetite, and you love pizza, this is the best in Grand Rapids, for the price. Great Value! Delicious Food. They have burrito's, taco's, subs, appetizers and more. And they deliver!
I just moved from Metro Detroit, and thought the green lanterns pizza was untouchable. And they could probably hold that title, until I stumbled into Villa #1. The 15 minute drive home was unbearable - smelled so good I struggled. Got home, took a bite and fell in love. The owners are good people, and they have a fan and loyal customer in me. This is now my pizza joint. Sorry, green Lantern.
This is seriously the best pizza in the whole of GR. Hot, fresh and made to order. The rest of the menu is iffy for me. The meatballs are so bland and that's sad because they are really big. If they could add some parmesan, black pepper, red onion, italian seasoning, salt and garlic to those meatballs it might bump them up a notch into flavortown.
