Northpointe Family Dental
I've been very happy switching to NorthPointe Dentistry. Dr. Suk Jun Yun takes the time to adequately explain any dental work that needs to be done, and it's always fairly priced. So far I've have two cavities and a crown replaced, and the experience was painless and the work has held up. The option for Saturday appointments is especially appreciated with my difficult schedule.

Michigan Community Dental Clinics
I've just had all my upper extractions done by this group and wanted to say these guys are excellent. I wasn't at all ready to need dentures but because of other health issues I had to. I was made a lot more comfortable with the idea by all the people I talked with here, especially Mary in the front office who was very kid and patient in helping me understand the process. Evette, also in the front, is also friendly and knowledgeable. In fact I found the whole staff were kind and and definitely know their stuff.I have actually had extractions done here before and the dentist before as well as Dr. Carmody who did these the other day were both very caring and had the teeth out very quickly even with a couple of them being complicated. I felt calmed and confident in their care. Dr. Carmody and his tech Michelle understood my other health problems and made special accommodations for that which made a huge difference. So, EXCELLENT care! And thanks to all the staff!

I've just had dentures made and installed by this group and wanted to say these guys are excellent. I wasn't at all ready to need dentures but because of other health issues I had to. I was made a lot more comfortable with the idea by all the people I talked with here and found they were kind and patient and definitely know their stuff. The dentures actually look very much like my teeth did back a few years when they were healthy. That's amazing to me as some of them were missing! I wondered if they would just look like they came of a cooky cutter kind of process where they looked like they were made to look the same for everyone, but I'm happy they look like my own. And the first set went in right after extractions were done, fit well and had no discomfort from them. Don't know if that is true for every case, but mine fit very well right away. So I looked better right away! That goes a long way for the ego pain! And they welcomed me to call any time for an adjustment if they do start to hurt or get loose as the swelling goes down and they will see me that day. I can tell they will be there for me through the six months it takes till I can have the permanent set put in and then after that I have no worries about the follow up care on those. So, EXCELLENT care! And thanks to all the staff who are professional and very good at what they do while paying very close attention to my case as an individual.

I absolutely love this office! Everybody there is so nice and helpful! I don't hate going to the dentist knowing I am walking into a place where they truly care about me! On my first visit, they went over everything I needed to have done, the priority in which they needed to be done and how much it was going to cost! This is the first dentist I had been to who did that!

Dental Associates of West Michigan
I have had a problem with this office ever since I started coming here the lady who handles billing is very rude and refuses to work with anyone under certain circumstances I told them the days I was able to come still had a problem scheduling me correctly and even with a notice before hand of not being able to make my appointment they still charge me 45 dollars for every miss or cancelled appointment this is my last straw with this dentist office I need a family oriented office that will work with your schedule and not charge you

Smilie's Pediatric Dentistry
This dentist LOVES to put crowns in on our young ones teeth. We used him for a year, and after him placing 9 crowns in my kids teeth, enough was enough. After our last cleaning, a hygentist wanted to talk to the dentist about a possible cavity, but she wasn't sure if it was one. She called back a week later and said Dr. LaDue wanted to put a crown on it, it's the only option she said. HA! I took him to another well respected Family Dentist in the area, who it turns out is the president of the West Michigan District Dental society, and he didn't even see a cavity and sent us on our way without even a filling. I'm so glad we switched. I'm trying not to think about how many uncessasary crowns are in my kids' mouths, but it's hard to not have regrets. Bottom line is, if you are thinking a pediatric dentist is the best for your kid, you may be wrong. With Peds dentistry those Stainless Steel crowns are a big money maker, and dealing with kids, about the only big money maker they have. Sad
Tips & Advices
This depends on the prosthetic.
  • Dental implants, when cared for properly, can last a lifetime.
  • Crowns typically last between 10-15 years.
  • Resin-bonded bridges typically last between seven  and 10 years. Tooth-supported fixed bridges generally wear out faster than this.
  • Removable partial dentures typically last around 15 years.
  • Complete dentures typically last between five and six years.
The entire process for adding dental implants could take as long as eight months. There are three phases:
  • Phase 1: Grafting. This may take between three and six  months.
  • Phase 2: Artificial root placement. This may take one to two  hours to complete and will take between three and six  months to heal.
  • Phase 3: Crown placement. This is usually done over the course of two visits, two weeks apart.
One dental implant typically costs $1,000-$3,000. However, the abutment (a connector added onto the top of a dental implant) and crown can add $500-$3,000. Multiple dental implants may cost $3,000-$30,000. A full set of implant dentures may cost as much as $90,000, though the average is around $34,000.
A dental implant is a titanium post shaped like a natural tooth's root that is surgically inserted into the jawbone beneath the gums. These posts allow dentists to secure a replacement tooth or bridge in the correct position.
Maxillofacial prosthesis is a subspecialty of prosthodontics. A maxillofacial prosthesis is meant to rehabilitate patients who have defects or disabilities due to trauma, disease, or those that a patient is has from birth. The prosthesis is designed to replace parts of the bone or tissue that are missing, or to help restore functions of the mouth, such as swallowing, chewing, or speaking. Other prostheses are created to protect the face during radiation therapy. Dentists that work with maxillofacial prostheses often collaborate closely with ear, nose, and throat doctors.
