Angie's Acupuncture
Angie is a caring and compassionate person who always works hard to help her patients. I wish I lived close enough to see her on a regular basis.

Rizzo Theresa AP DIPL OM
A must for busy students. I have been seeing Theresa for three or four years now. I am hard on my body -- lack of sleep, long hours, heavy exercise, fluctuating diet, plenty of alcohol -- typical college student. Theresa has helped me balance my extremes, moderate my excesses, and generally kept me in good health and sanity through stress, life changes, and both simple and serious health concerns. She is a blessing to all aspects of my life, and I cannot recommend her enough.

Family Chiropractic Center
Avoided painful, expensive back surgery.I had a very painful disk problem and, after multiple MRI's and appointments, my doctor recommended surgery. Instead, I went to Family Chiropractic. Within a few sessions, Dr. Schargel had me on the road to recovery. He practiced no nonsense chiropractics on me and saved me from an invasive, expensive, and apparently unnecessary surgery. I'm not saying Dr. Scharagel is a magician or that Chiropractic can solve EVERY problem but, I sure am glad I went this route and I am very happy with the results. Dr. Scharagel really knows his stuff.

Terrace Health & Rehabilitation
horrible experience, I checked myself out after five hours, there were patients calling for help over and over that I could plainly hear from my room, then another one further down the hall started yelling "Help me, somebody please". They did not have my medicines that my doctor ordered, there was a FLY on the egg salad sandwich they served me for dinner (egg salad, beets & applesauce for dinner REALLY? The staff was completely lackadaisical and unconcerned. The person who wheelchaired me in had NO understanding of knee replacement protocol. I wouldn't board a dog in this place.

Theresa is one of the best and wisest health practitioners I have ever met. I've used her for a variety of issues over the years: pregnancy, allergies, postpartum... and she's never let me down. I highly, highly recommend her.

I've been going to Theresa for years and she hasn't let me down once! She really spends the time with you to figure out where she can be of the most help. The office setting is peaceful and serene so I always feel comfortable during my treatments. Theresa is my go-to recommendation for friends and family!
Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
