A+ Air Conditioning replaced my AC unit and furnace and, as a retired teacher, I give this company an A+! Over the past year, I have had a maintenance contract with A+ and have found I can trust their recommendations. A previous company had told me in December of 2010 that I needed to replace my unit. With all the expenses of the holiday season, this was the last thing I wanted to hear. A+ came out to give me a second opinion and they said they felt I would be able to make it last for another year to give me more time to save up some money for this major purchase. When the company I previously had a contract with came to do their spring maintenance and told me that everything looked just fine, I began to be suspicious if I could trust what they were telling me. On a Sunday that was one of the hottest days of the summer of 2012, my AC was struggling to keep my house cool. Since I have a medical condition that becomes worse when I get overheated, I called A+ to come and check the problem. They were able to do a short term fix within two hours to keep the old unit going that gave me time to check out the options I would have to purchase a replacement. They found discounts for me to use when buying energy efficient models, compared the energy consumption, warranties, and gave me the information to research the choices on the Internet. The installation of the new unit went very well. They knew I would have a difficult time with my medical condition when the house would heat up during the process of switching the units and they did everything they could to have the air conditioning working as soon as possible. The owner stopped by to be sure all was progressing well. The garage was cleaner after the team left than when they came! The lesson they gave me on how to use the programmable thermostat was done very well. With the addition of new energy efficient patio doors and the new AC unit, my utility bill has been cut almost in half. The only glitch was that the hot water heater was turned off during the installation but when I noticed the hot water was only lukewarm over the weekend, a service technician followed up almost immediately to take care of it. I needed a copy of the warranty and it was sent to me very quickly. The office staff has checked in with me to be sure everything is in order as well as a follow up visit by the owner.

A+ gets an A+++++A+ Air and Heat came to my home in Bronson. Jason (the tech) who came out was expecting to give an estimate for a new unit. I asked if he could please check my unit and see if it could be repaired. Upon checking it, he did determine replacing a circuit board and a black switch would correct my problem. While he was doing this repair, he discovered a short in a wire that had he not discovered it, could have possibly caused my unit to burn out the circuit board and switch again. He also discovered my duct work had come off the unit and replaced it with a super sized zip tie. He was awesome to say the least. I am on a limited income and he was very understanding. I would recommend calling this company again as they were honest, dependable and most important, reasonable! My unit is working again and it is great to have heat at this time of year, as just because we are called the Sunshine state, it doesn't mean we are never freezing our butts off. Great job Jason!

We are pleased to recommend A+ Air Conditoning to all Gainesville residents. Our home has an older AC/heating system, and we first became customers of A+ Air Conditioning about four years ago. They service many of the homes in our subdivision. A+ understands our desire to be cost effective, and our wish to get as many years out of our system as we can. They are prompt, efficient, and patient, with very knowledgeable technicians that take the time to explain what they are doing, and why; plus, they do not mind answering questions. They respect our home. Since becoming A+ customers, our system has run very smoothly, with no problems. We trust them explicitly with our AC/heating system, and would recommend them as a company that has been straightforward, honest, and dependable in all of our dealings with them.

A Plus lives up to it's name! A friend recommended this company last year when our unit failed. The competent, friendly, professional owner, Bob McCollum, came late Friday and by Saturday evening had a quote and recommendation for us to replace our unit by Tuesday. What a relief! And when an issue arose, the tech folks came out immediately to rectify the problem. We have been most happy with Rick Glisson as our Service Technician. The maintenance contract, Comfort Club, is worth it! Rick is knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and friendly and offers clear, helpful explanations. I'm signing up for at least another year!

A Plus Air Conditioning is an outstanding locally owned company that we have been using for repair, maintenance, and installation of our 2 Carrier Units since 2006. This company believes in quality workmanship and excellent customer service and it shows! The past 6 years or so Rick has been servicing our units twice a year and makes sure everything is top notch. When our AC unit had a problem he was out the same day to fix it. I know that by partaking in their annual service contract we will keep our high end units in great shape and if there is a problem it will be corrected the same day. We highly recommend them!

Impressive! These guys really have it together. They arrived on time (a little bit early actually). Charlie, Josh, Shelton, and DJ got right to work, and worked hard the entire time they were here. They explained what they were doing and went inside the ductwork to show us a major problem that could have been causing health issues. I can't thank them enough for impeccable work, and increasing the quality of my family's health. I would recommend this company to anyone; You will not be disappointed.

Our home was built in the 1950s with no AC and VERY little crawl space in the attic. A+ AC got duct work into places that didn't seem possible. Great service, professionalism, and attention to detail made them head and shoulders above the competition. Every detail from the bid process to clean-up demonstrated the fact that every aspect of the job was as important to them as it was to me. This was a difficult job that was done exceptionally well.

For over 10 years we have used A+ for our AC & heating needs. They are awesome. Always prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable. Rick has been our service tech for much of that time, and we are extremely happy. Rick goes the extra mile to make sure that our system is running smoothly and efficiently. We purchased our top of the line Carrier System from A+. Our excellent experience before , during and after the installation was better than expected. We took an annual service contract and have maintained it with them ever since. Their technician, Rick Glisson, is the ultimate professional and we rely on him/them for all of our air conditioning and heating needs. We can't recommend them too highly!

OMG--called for apt and came a little early which was great--I'm 66 and never had a company go thru an a/c unit --fixed it. Jason was great and let me know possible what would be maybe a future problem with estimate. Went under mobile home ,checked duck work--just call A plus---
Tips & Advices
You can keep your air conditioner running efficiently with some preventative care measures. Shut off the power to your AC before cleaning it or performing any of these tasks:  clean your filter at least twice a year; remove leaves and twigs from cages; clean the fins with a garden hose or special spray, then use a butter knife to straighten any that are crooked; keep your yard clean so the fins won't get blocked; cover the unit up for winter; and make sure it's level or you run the risk of damaging the inner workings of the unit.
To clean your air conditioner drain, first shut off the power to your unit at both the thermostat and the breaker. Then remove the drain pan. If the pan is full of water, soak up the liquid with a few towels or rags or use a wet vacuum. You can use a solution of water and distilled vinegar, or substitute peroxide for the vinegar, to clean out the drain pipe. Let the pipe sit for a while in the solution and then put all the parts back in place. Once you start using your air conditioner on a regular basis, check it periodically to ensure condensation isn't building up.
If you happen to live in a hot and humid area of the country, drainage problems can occur with your unit since moisture can trap itself inside the system. Routine maintenance can cut down on drainage issues by cleaning out any mold or algae from blocking the drain. If you notice moldy smells whenever you turn the thermostat down, check on your system.
If you notice your system is acting inconsistently, the sensor is most likely out of place. Turn off the unit and reach behind its control panel while carefully bending the sensor back into place near the evaporative coil.
Find out where the noises are coming from. A banging or clanking sound could be due to a loose part. If you hear a hissing sound, it's most likely because of a refrigerant leak and you should contact an HVAC technician as soon as possible.
