My puppy was lethargic within 24 hours of bringing him home. They adjust the puppy price and make it seem like you are paying the correct amount by adding on all of these extra things you don’t need. The pet insurance doesn’t kick in until after your first appointment which will be very expensive because their dogs are not healthy. My puppy had kennel cough and a blood infection & Petlands coverage doesn’t cover the testing which you have to have to figure out what’s wrong with your dog who won’t eat and has constant diarrhea. $3100 for the pup/training/toys etc & $1000 vet bill later I was able to have a healthy pup. When I confronted petland about the issues I was only compensated with a free rope toy...& more coupons for their store. They kept shoving the replacement policy down my throat. These are living animals why would I be happy you are replacing a living creature of it dies when that should be the last thing I have to worry about when purchasing an AKC registered dog. I did research on the pedigree as well and found out the kennel which was out of state had been docked for several violations and the sales woman even told me the puppy was 8 weeks old when he was actually 12 weeks old and severely underweight!! I love my pup and I’m thankful he wasn’t sold to someone who may have just let him die and get a replacement but in the 5 vet visits over 8 weeks. I ran across 3 other petland purchased puppies at the vet they require you to use(just for the record I love the vet) and each pup had kennel cough. If you insist on buying a puppy here know that you should not pay asking price & decline any extras you can because they are worthless and you won’t use half of them.

Don’t buy a $3000 dog when $60 dogs that aren’t brought in from puppy mills, and are mixed so they have a better, healthier genetic pool, are being euthanized at the local shelter.

Against our better judgement we bought a puppy from Petland. After purchasing our puppy and taking her to the vet, the puppy had already been treated for a parasite (giardia) 3 times. Although their pet "Contract" states that they do not guarantee their animals to be parasite free, we were never informed that she had already been treated for said parasite, or that she was infected. So the puppy comes home and infects our other dog with the parasite. She also had to be treated for a tapeworm. 2 months into owning the puppy she has been diagnosed with EPI, a pancreas disorder. The puppy will have to be medicated for the rest of her life. Now we are dealing with their warranty company. Stay far away from this place. They don't care about their animals at all or their customers. I called and asked to talk to a manager, of course there isn't one and they just refer you to the puppy warranty company. Terrible company, terrible puppy mill.

Bought a $9,000 dog. Attempted to return everything two hours later. I was told I'd be charged with cruilty and abandonment. This was one of the worst experiences of my entire life.

Tips & Advices
Pet owners usually sign a waiver stating that any injury or illness a dog suffers while at daycare is the responsibility of the owner. However, most facilities carry liability insurance and pet business insurance in the event of a serious incident. To prevent illness, facilities are strict about requiring proof of vaccination and general health from a veterinarian prior to accepting a dog. However, in an off-leash setting, scuffles or fights might occur. Reputable facilities will often hire vet assistants who can treat minor injuries and under-the-weather dogs.  For anything more serious, a good daycare should make it a priority to get the dog to a vet, and get in immediate contact with the owner.
