Payless Brakes & Tires
These guys are a rare find in Fresno. 2 brothers, Yeppo & Sako really take care of you. They were upfront about what was wrong with my car and even though the repair seemed pretty expensive and excessive, they told me to go checkout a few other places. My wife waited in their (remodeled?) lounge, very nice for a mechanic shop by the way lol. Went to about 5 other places on Blackstone before I realized these guys were not only the cheapest, but they were willing to do a little extra work to make sure on top to make sure i don't come back for the same problem. When I told them the quotes i got and asked them how they stay in business if people "pay less", Sako said when they provide good service the first time, they'll want to come back if they have any other issues in the future, with their other cars, referrals. Makes Sense. Got my car back a day before they said it would be ready. Been a year, and no issues! Thanks guys!

Jorges Tires
Last week I had a tire blow out on my old car. Not wanting to sink as much money for a new set of tires as the car was worth, I called Jorge's Tire. They found me 3-matching tires matching what was already on my car, in fact they were even better than what was previuosly on it! I neglected to bring enough cash and needed to get to an ATM, so while they were putting the tires on my car, Jorge (George) himself took the time to drive me up Blackstone to an ATM. The car was ready to go when we returned and the price was terrific, less than the cost of just one tire at the new tire store! These guys are fast, inexpensive, customer service oriented but most of all HONEST! They have found a loyal customer in me.

Goodguys Tires & Auto Repair
A good auto mechanic is important, but hard to find. So it's a good thing to find a trustworthy and reliable auto shop. There are few things more frustrating than spending good money on a car repair and getting a sloppy job in return. So finding a good shop before you hand over your cash. Is a rare GEM.The great news is that Goodguys on Blackstone is a well-managed and consumer friendly shop in Fresno. John, Anthony, Javier and the staff are honest and play no games when it comes to the care of your vehicle. I really don't recommend a business to others, but Good Guys on Blackstone is a no brainer. Two Thumps Up!

Discount Auto and Tires
I went here to get my truck transmission repaired, and it was such great service, it took like a week or less, like 5 days, which was great and expected. Cost $1, 200.00 which was expected also. I called around and other places wanted $1, 700.00 or higher. When the truck was done the man showed us all our old parts and explained what they should of been like, he was so helpful and very understanding. And most important, he felt trustworthy! I would always recommend this place and go there again for any other transmission repair on my other cars.

The best serive I have ever experienced at a service facility. I will recommend this place to all my friends and family. Free Flat repairs!!!. I showed up a little after they closed and the manager reopened the store and took care of me no charge and with a smile on his face. Find that somewhere else that will do that, I dare you!!!

Payless Brakes & Tires
They were very nice, and didn't try and tell me what other things I may need. I came in for one thing only but because of their prompt service and professionalism, I would come again, even though I live in the mountains. When I come down for other things like Costco, I will make arrangements to have my auto work done there.

Tire Pros
We've been taking all of our vehicles here for about 10 years. Extremely satisfied with their products and services. Over the course of 10 years we have not had any problems that they did not resolve quickly, and in a friendly manner. I give my full recommendation on this one!

Performance Tire And Auto Care
I feel that they did good work in the past, but I've felt a real decline in the work being done. they gave a couple of bad diagnosis of problems that would of made me pay a double labor fee. The work itself was more expensive than I would of been charged elsewhere.

Dan's Blackstone Tire
I have been doing business with the original owner and his son that now owns the business for over 35 years and they have always gone above and beyond to insure that i was satisfied in the parts they installed and guarantee there work. The best shop in town.
Tips & Advices
Yes. New tires purchased online can often be priced lower than ones at a tire dealership. Buyers can often avoid state sales taxes and locate hard-to-find tire styles and sizes, but will still have to locate a local tire installer and pay sometimes high shipping costs.
The average cost of a set of new tires is $637, with a range of between $525-$725. In addition, installation includes mounting and balancing, alignment, and disposal of old tires.
The vehicle is raised and the old wheels are removed, then the old tires are removed from the wheels. The lug nuts, wheels, and valve stems are inspected and replaced as needed. The new tires are mounted and sealed, then inflated and balanced. The wheels are then replaced on the car. The average installation takes approximately 45 minutes.
Agencies such as the Tire Industry Association promotes tire safety through advocacy and education to the industry including: manufacture, sales, repair, service and recycling. Seek a full-service tire dealer who carries a wide variety of tire types and brands and asks about the type of driving you normally do.
  • Move your car to a safe location.
  • Turn on your car’s safety lights, apply the parking brakes and remove the hubcap if there is one.
  • Loosen the lug nuts with a lug wrench (but do not remove them), raise the vehicle with a jack and then fully remove the lugnuts.
  • Remove the flat tire and replace it with the spare tire.
  • Tighten the lug nuts by hand, lower the car and then tighten them fully with the lug wrench.

Just a moment...
