For years, I had heard that the area of Shaw and Sixth in Freeno was as bad as living in Southeast Fresno. I was told it was gang controlled and drug riddled. So when I first found myself on a fixed income five years ago, I chose the cheapest apartment I could find in Clovis on Alamos and Peach, just off of Shaw. I quickly discovered that area of Clovis is indeed run by gangs, drug riddled and overrun with homeless squatters. Even in my own complex, I couldn't walk out my door without stumbling on to a drug buy in progress. After five years, my rent went up and my income went down. When I found my apartment at College Manor Apartments for $200.00 less, I decided if I could live at Alamos and Peach, I could live anywhere and I made the move. And again, I was surprised. It is quiet, my neighbors are orderly, nobody is just loitering about. The area is clean and tidy. And I feel realitivly safe. Upon moving in and discovering my oven didn't work, the management replaced my stove with a very nice one. My apartment is cute and cozy. I'd recconmend College Manor to anybody!
I lived here for awhile in college. It is a nice apartment complex, lots of trees, grass, plenty of parking for both guests and those who lived there. Cedar Commons has a pool, a Jacuzzi, a sauna, a excercise room, a area to have a bar-b-que with with tables. It's quiet, lots of people, who work, attend college, etc. This apartment is within walking distance of Fresno State University, and not to far from the Save Mart Center. Each apartment has it's own patio, and it is not to far from Freeway 41 and Highway 168. It's a few miles form Clovis. I would have lived there a longtime, had my roommate not moved out and left me with all the bills. The only downside to living at Cedar Commons was that anytime anyone walked up and down the stairs ( It's a two story apartment, but not a townhouse), the walls vibrate and you can hear your neighbors walking around above you occasionally. But I think most apartments are like that. I would definetley recommend living there.
Rich,That's not true about Terri. She talks kind of slow, but that's just how she is. She's not a drug addict. She's a very nice person and too lenient, and that's why people got away with so much at Cedar Tree Apts. She's got a very big heart. She was also fooled too easily by people when they'd apply, and later would find out they weren't good people. She's not the manager anymore, but not because of anything she did wrong. The only thing that I ever found wrong about Cedar Tree is that they charge Section 8 people more rent than anyone else. But, that wasn't Terri's fault. That's what she was told to do as every other manager is told to do that. Terri felt that was unfair to section 8 people.
