Fig Leaf Salon
I have been going to Fig Leaf Salon for a number of years now. It started with just getting monthly full body Shiatsu Massages from Amphay, who is amazing! Every single time I've had one, they are "never" exactly the same. He has such the touch to feel my sore muscles and work out the kinks.I then started getting monthly Pedicures from his wife Bonnie. She is great too! Since then and due to their growing business, I've had Julia, VV and Cassie (all hand picked and trained by Bonnie) do my Pedicures. They are always an hour long and include a hearty foot massage. And they don't charge any extra for art. All of them are great at what they provide!Lastly, I then started having my hair cut here and having them do my highlights and color when needed. I even have Vilay do curls for special occasions and updos.Their prices are very reasonable and competitive with the market. They do it all here! This salon has a fantastic group of people and Bonnie and Amphay should be very proud of the business they have built over the years! It's a pleasure knowing them!Becky D.Fresno, CA

Energy Star Construction
Energy Star did a very excellent job, better than I ever expected, and less expensive then I had expected. Everything inspected was signed off with no problems. When I paid them, I accidentally paid too much, and they were honest and wrote me a check for the difference. Also, my husband is older and is unable to climb up on the roof to see what it looks like, so Brandon took before and after pictures and gave them to us when the job was complete. It was a blessing to have them do professional and honest work for us and go the extra mile.

Energy Star Construction
In May of 2016, Energy Star Construction installed Windows and a HVAC unit in my home. I would highly recommend this company, they were extremely helpful and met all my expectation accordingly. My new windows look great, and my home is nice and cool in this hot valley weather. I am happy to say that I made the right choice, in choosing Energy Star Construction to help me with my home improvement projects.

Carmen's Cut Family Hair Care
My son has autism and doesn't do well with getting his haircut. I took him to Carmen's cut and she did an amazing job! She was very calm and gentle with him and made him feel really comfortable. I was very happy how professional and calm she was while my son cried and screamed. I've also had her cut my hair a previous time. We will be going to her from now on. Thank you

Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.

Just a moment...
